Cindy told Roger that the taming master was called Rachel.
Rachel used to be a resident of Dragon Tooth Village but because of her peculiar personality, she had left the village when she was a kid and had been living alone at the gravel piles down south.
Then, there was once where Rachel mysteriously went missing for a few months.
When she returned, she brought along a group of flying dragons, and these flying dragons would only listen to her commands.
From then on, she became one of the most respected people on Yellow Stone Island.
Rachel was very anti-social and wasn't very good with words, but she was kind-hearted.
She knew the wetlands like the back of her arms and was willing to help the others travel with her group of flying dragons.
There were a lot of adventurers who traveled with her [ Flying Dragon Express].
Well, of course, the Flying Dragon Express wasn't for free.
Cindy hinted to Roger that Rachel's mission might be even more difficult than her commission.
...
Despite that.
Roger still wanted personally to talk to the taming master and see if he could convince her to help him travel across the Great Wetlands.
Roger's destination was Gem City.
Before leaving, he had already asked Terry for the route to the city.
Terry had given him a roughly sketched map.
It could be seen from the map that the Great Wetlands were the biggest obstacle between Tongma Town and Gem City.
According to what Terry had told him, Roger would have to continue heading south while crossing the Great Wetlands and he would come to a place called Paramount Estate.
That was Terry's hometown which was also a very welcoming human settlement.
Paramount Estate was very close to Gem City.
Moreover, that place was surrounded by abundant resources and beautiful lands.
But the increase in the magic resources was accompanied by an increase in the number and strength of the magical creatures.
The further south he went, the more danger he would face.
This was something that could be used across the whole of Mystra.
For Roger, this target of getting to Gem City was not as urgent.
The reason why he left Tongma Town was to look for stronger magical creatures and also to pass down a more complete heritage of human civilization.
In between both of these, Roger actually cared more about the latter.
He was extremely curious about the background of this world.Especially when he realized that this could be a gaming world, his curiosity grew even more.
The more complete the heritage of a place, the more information he would get about its history, culture, and world views.
As for now.
All the knowledge that Roger had of Mystra were from the stories that the old man in Tongma Town told him about the deity's judgement day.
If you considered all these myths, it was definitely possible for ridiculous things like Nineteen Circle Spells to be around.
However, Roger was very skeptical about the authenticity of these myths, since those were strength closed to 190 levels!
...
That afternoon.
Roger went across the Yellow Stone Island and after bypassing all the ill-intentioned refugees, he finally reached the residence of the taming master.
Unfortunately, Rachel wasn't at home and the flying dragons that Cindy spoke of were not there as well.
But from all the stools that could be seen in between the gravel piles were signs that there were species of Yalong living in this area.
"Cindy wasn't lying about this." Roger muttered to himself.
Before heading here, the Dragon Priest had already told him that Rachel would usually bring her flying dragons hunting in the depths of the marshlands which would mean that she would only be back after a few days.
The scratch marks around had also proven this point.
Even with this, Roger still didn't think of accepting Cindy's commission.
As for the next few days.
He found a safe place and camped at a location in between the Dragon Tooth Village and the residence of the taming master.
While waiting for Rachel to return, he kept himself busy as well.
There were an abundance of magical resources around Yellow Stone Island and he had never seen most of them when he was at the marshland before this.
Roger started hunting for all these mobile attributes and was hoping to find something legendary.
In order to increase his hunting efficiency, he even invited a villager from the Dragon Tooth village as his guide.
...
One afternoon three days later.
In the marshlands where the water grass grew wildly.
A few earthworms were lightly crushed and thrown into the water, causing multiple ripples across the water.
There were two fishes who noticed it immediately and swam towards it.
However, before any one of them managed to take a bite, they were pushed away by a fat, moustached, weird looking fish.
This strange looking fish wiggled its tail and vigorously got rid of both the fishes. Then, began enjoying all the baits that were floating on the surface of the water by itself.
At this moment, a slim, black shadow pierced through out of nowhere.
Puff!
The waters around were splashing in all directions and the strange looking fish was pierced through the heart.
Along with this, the hunter that was camouflaged as part of the reeds around showed its true form.
"As expected, Sir Roger. Such speed!"
Eric, who was fully covered with reeds and his hands holding onto a bunch of earthworms, complimented Roger from the bottom of his heart.
While, Roger, on the other hand, kept a poker face.
Roger took over the fish spear from Eric and removed the strange-looking fish from the spear.
...
[You have killed a beardfish]
[You have gained 2 XP]
[Your resistance against strong light has had slight improvement]
...
When he saw the attributes, Roger couldn't help but frown.
This was already the best attribute that he had seen for the past three days.
Strong light resistance basically meant that the naked eyes had resistance against sudden, bright lights.
This was a useful attribute.
For instance, it would work very well against mages' Glaring Light Technique.
But it wasn't worth it to kill so many beardfish just to get this attribute.
"Let's go somewhere else."
Roger was still speaking in a very calm manner.
Eric was stunned for a moment before nodding his head. "Okay."
"The next type of magical creatures are known as the Reze Whale. They look a little like alligators..."
As Eric started leading the way, he was also giving information about the magical creatures.
For the past three days, with Eric's guidance, Roger has hunted every single magical creature there was around Yellow Stone Island.
All of them adding up to more than thirty different types of magical creatures.
But none of their attributes were useful!
Roger couldn't help but start questioning about life.
He even had this thought that he might have used up all of his luck in this lifetime when he got the Explosive Magic Frog.
Well, it wasn't all only bad news.
At least for the past three days, he managed to know more about the Dragon Tooth village with the help of Eric and his sister, Joanne.
Not to be mistaken by Eric's beard and him boasting about being the strongest hunter in Dragon Tooth Village.
In fact, this fellow was only twenty years old.
He was definitely more experienced than Joanne who was just like a blank piece of paper.
But when it came to someone like Roger who was very experienced, talking to him about it was no different than stripping himself naked.
From the things that he said, Roger found out that the Dragon Tooth Village had a very long history as they were a human settlement that existed after the catastrophe.
The main thing that kept them apart from the other human settlements was that they had their own faith!
They would have a huge celebration every winter in order to pay respect and surrender to their supreme being of their faith.
The funny thing was...
No matter how Roger tried prompting them, Eric and Joanne would never tell him who this supreme being was.
The other villagers were also the same.
However, when he thought about the name of the village and the profession of their chief, Roger already had an idea about it.
...
In order to get to the Reze Whale, Eric wanted to bring Roger around the dangerous puddle that was ahead of them.
Suddenly, a gust of wind whipped their faces.
Eric didn't even lift his head but said while smiling, "Sister Rachel is back..."
Actually, he didn't have to say anything as Roger had already noticed the group of flying dragons that suddenly swept across the land in a low altitude posture.
He even noticed a small figure on the back of the first flying dragon that flew across him.
"Their flying posture… is a little weird."
As he thought about it to himself, his pupil suddenly shrunk...
He saw that most of the flying dragons behind had arrows on their stomach!
They were bleeding while flying!
