When I show up at the crowded Pub Natalia and her Cake Mix band are playing, I still manage to find an empty stool by the bar. The seat I found is a little far from the stage, but I can still see the band well enough. I don't think Natalia will be able to see me right away, not unless she is looking for me.
It took me some time to find the place. I never come to this side of town. At first, I didn't even know what to wear. I didn't know the dress code, so I actually had to look at some pictures from previous events online to get an idea of how people dress to come here.
The band plays a few upbeat songs and then they get in a mellow mood. The melody playing now has a slow long intro with beautiful violin and guitar sounds. Natalia speaks to the crowd and says "this is a song I wrote a year ago, it goes like this…" She sings, and I can feel the pain in her voice, her soul. It's a sad song, full of passion and regret.
