This story begins with Leon's grandfather, Jeremiah Chronos. Who is trying to have a conversation with his son and Leon's father Arthur Chronos. Jeremiah is only forty years old, but now looks like an old man who has spent a lifetime on earth.
Arthur is shocked by his father's appearance, he seemed fine the last time he saw him, and now he can't even recognize this sickly old man as his father. Jeremiah struggles to speak, but eventually gets the strength to explain his affliction.
Jeremiah Chronos: Do not be frightened by my appearance my son. This is not the work of any illness, but a deadly curse. (Jeremiah says before coughing severely)
Arthur Chronos: Curse? Who would put a curse on you father? You spent your life helping others as a Mage. (Arthur asks with tears in his eyes from seeing his father in such a state)
Jeremiah Chronos: This curse has been in our family for generations. It all began when humanity first trapped the Great Demons in the Voidstone. Apparently one had escaped being captured, and retreated to regain it's strength. This Demon, named Kronos, was the Great Demon of Time, and posed an enormous threat to mankind if left alone. So a group of powerful Mages set out on a journey to slay the weakened Demon, among them was our ancestor, Alexander Eon. Alexander was a Heart Mage who possessed a unique magic power, capable of defeating even the strongest opponent. He had a family back home, but knew that they would be in danger if the Demon wasn't slayed. They embarked on their quest, eventually finding the Great Demon Kronos. But he wasn't as weak as they thought, and slaughtered all the Mages, except for Alexander, who he saved for last. As the Demon tried to put an end to his life, Alexander used his special power, Space Magic... Using Space Magic, he trapped the Demon in another dimension which he commanded.... After that, Alexander returned home a hero, having defeated the mighty Demon. Sadly though he couldn't keep the Great Demon trapped for long, so he put an end to his own life to ensure that the demon stayed sealed... That would have been the end of it, but the Great Demon put a curse on Alexander's generation, this power grants us, his descendants, the power over Time. But prolonged use of this power eventually leads to death... I believe this curse is a means for Kronos to escape that dimension, but if one decides not to use this power, the curse places them in a situation where they have to... In that drawer is a book, it has spells that can limit the effects of the Time magic, only read it if you want to. Not using magic at all will increase your chances of living a long life. But if you must use magic, only use the spells in that book... Please son, live long. (Jeremiah tells his son before he dies)
Arthur lost his father that day, and shortly after he gains his time powers. He decides never to use them and leaves the book mostly unread.
Arthur becomes a family man, deciding to spend as much time with his wife and children as possible. He loved his wife Meridith, and adored his children Leon and Amanda. One day while he was returning from a trip, he notices that his house had burnt down, his heart sank into his chest at the thought of losing his family. He runs to ask a neighbour if his family was safe.
Neighbour: I'm so sorry Arthur. We couldn't save them. (The neighbour tells him, burn marks covering his body)
Arthur falls to his knees, staring at his destroyed home in sorrow. Then the Great Demon Kronos manifests itself behind him and speaks.
Kronos The Great Demon Of Time: Arthur Chronos, I present you with a choice, Free me or Die... If you free me, I shall bring back your family. If you decide to save them yourself, know that you shall die.... What would it be?. (The Great Demons asks before vanishing)
Arthur never fully read the book, but knows of one spell that can save his family. He uses EON the original time spell that has been passed down for generations, he knows he can't trust Kronos, and would never free him.
Using EON Arthur reverses the hands of time, and restores his house and everyone in it. But due to his inexperience with the spell, his magic zone was way too large. A magic zone is the area in which magic affects, a small magic zone uses little magic power, while larger ones consume too much magic, which was bad for someone whose magic reduces their lifespan.
Arthur has brought back his family, but due to his large magic zone, he begins to rapidly age... Meridith rushes to her husband's aid with her children in tow.
Meridith Chronos: Darling what happened?! Are you okay?! (She asks as she watches her husband rapidly age)
Arthur's children, Leon and Amanda are crying from seeing their father in pain. Unable to stand any longer, Arthur falls to the ground.
Arthur Chronos: Meridith... Give Leon the book I told you about, he will be the one who is cursed next... Make sure he learns all the spells, It will help him survive. (Arthur tells her weakly)
Meridith Chronos: I swear I will honey. (Meridith replies with tears rolling down her cheeks)
Arthur signals for his children to come close, he kisses them and speaks to young Leon.
Arthur Chronos: Please son... Live long, and happy. (Arthur said with tears in his eyes)
And with that said, he draws his last breath. After Leon's dad died, he spent most of his youth learning all the time spells.
Forward: A spell that increases the users speed by slowing down time.
Reverse: A spell that reverses damage on the body and surroundings.
Foresight: A spell that allows one to see the future. Only truly works when asleep.
Time Staff: The uncompleted weapon of Kronos, which the user can summon by using a large amount of magic.
EON: The ultimate time spell that gives one total control of their Time magic. It reduces the lifespan when used, but increases power tenfold.
Time Punch: A punch with the speed and power of a meteor. Attained when time is stopped or slowed to point where the fist travels fast enough to catch fire.
Leon also learns a few Space spells like.
Seal: A spell that traps magical energy or matter in another dimension, it's the same dimension Kronos is trapped in.
Release: A spell that releases all the energy that has been sealed.
Space Travel: A spell that allows the user to move through physical space with ease, therefore grants the ability of flight or teleportation.
After successfully learning all the spells and becoming a master of Time and Space Magic, Leon becomes a Mage to push the limits of his power and increase his strength further.
He then enters the tournament and would go on to win, becoming the No 1 Elite Mage. After what happened to his dad, Leon made a promise to himself to never fall in love and have a family. So that if he never overcame his curse, he would not leave anyone behind.
Present day Leon Chronos uses a Crystal phone to call a friend to help with the Lance situation.
Note: A Crystal phone is a small mechanical device that uses crystal power to communicate with others. To use it you must say the name of the person you want to talk to and the phone does the rest.
Leon Chronos: Come on Valeria. Answer me. (Leon says to the phone)
The No 6 Elite Mage Valeria Susano: Hey boss... Are you calling to ask about those Demons you sent us after? Sorry to say but they got away. (Valeria tells Leon as she makes the call while sitting atop the dead body of a giant magic beast she slayed)
Leon Chronos: They got away?! (Referring to Mistress Copy and Hell Mage)... Whatever that's not the reason I'm calling. A student of mine got himself into some trouble, and I need your help to prove him innocent.
Valeria Susano: I'm not sure if that's up my alley, but I'm on my way. Oh and I'm bringing Blast! (She tells him quickly before hanging up)
Leon Chronos: What?! Don't bring him here, hello, Damn it Valeria! (Leon yells in frustration, knowing that Blast coming would complicate everything)
After hanging up Valeria goes to her comrade who is still fighting some magic beasts. With his explosive punches the beasts stand no chance against him.
Valeria Susano: Hey Blast! Leon wants us back at the castle. Says it's really important. (Valeria tells him with a conniving smile)
The No 4 Elite Mage Demetri Baltore Aka Blast: Oh, he thinks just because he's No 1 he can boss me around?! I'm gonna beat that loser into the ground, and take my rightful place, as No 1!!! (Blast yells as he smashes his fists together, resulting in a violent explosion)
