Lance Grey is sitting on a crate across the street from his mother's restaurant, watching and waiting for the place to close. He is wearing a long black coat, with a hood to conceal his face.
This coat was made with dark magical energy, which Lance can fully manipulate to give it any shape or form. As Lance is sitting there quietly, he takes notice of three children who are taunting a little girl, making her feel bad about herself.
"Of course you can't play with us, your daddy's a dirty thief!" (The boy at the centre tells the girl harshly)... Come on guys, let's get out of here. (The boys says before he walks away, and the two others follow him)
The girl begins to cry, having no one to play with because of the bad reputation of her father. Seeing this affected Lance a bit, he also had trouble making friends at that age, all he had was Lora, if she never became his friend, then where would he be today?
