Leon has taken Lance and his companions to a training camp via Locomotive. Riding in a locomotive was a delight for Lance, who couldn't afford such means of transportation.
After dropping them off the vehicle hovers once more, and leaves them all in a camp in the forest.
Leon Chronos: Welcome to the Atlas training camp! Isn't it beautiful. (Leon says in delight)
The camp is far from beautiful, its damaged environment and crooked structures make the place look like a warzone.
Nina Willow: Wow, It's... umm nice. (Nina lies, trying to be nice)
John Crest: Nice! This place is a dump! (John yells, being blunt)
Leon Chronos: This dump was the training grounds for me and many others, show a little respect. If they had to fix this place every time someone broke something, the Heart Kingdom would suffer financially.
Nina Willow: I guess that's true.
Leon Chronos: First drop off all your luggage in the cabins and let's get started. Wait no magic in the cabins, those have to remain nice. (Leon says with a smile)
After dropping off all their bags, the New Mages officially begin their training.
Leon Chronos: I believe you have already been taught the three forms of Heart Magic.
Lance Grey: Yes, there is Enhancement magic, Enchantment magic and Empowerment magic.
Leon Chronos: Correct, Heart magic is all about absorbing magical energy and channelling it to perform magic. Enhancement Mages can use that energy to either increase their strength, speed or power, in other words it's magic that works exclusively on you.
Rex Striker: You mean like Gwenevier and Mr Perfect.
Leon Chronos: Exactly, Enchantment magic on the other hand is the opposite, it's magic that only works on others or your surroundings, like my Time magic but I'm not an Enchantment Mage, I'm an Empowerment Mage capable of using both Enhancement and Enchantment magics, observe.
Leon picks up a rock and tosses it in the air, it ascends quickly but it's descent is slower.
Leon Chronos: Behold, Time Enchantment magic, by slowing down the flow of time around that stone I can make it fall in slow motion, and by using Enhancement magic I can.. (Leon suddenly runs around the camp, picking up clutter and repairing the old structures in a matter of moments)... Make myself move faster. (Leon says with a bit of exhaustion)
Lora Magma: But it seems to take it's toll on you.
Leon Chronos: Yeah, even though I fixed this place in less than five seconds, it still feels like I've been working for hours. (Leon explains while stretching his body)... But a true Mage must learn how to manage power and not push yourself too far, that's why I rest anytime I get the chance. Now Lora please come show us some magic.
Lora Magma: Okay.
Leon takes Lora and the others to a giant tree stump in the middle of the training camp, and asks her to destroy the tree with magic. Lora concentrates channeling magical energy through her body before firing a huge blast of fire that engulfs the tree stump.
Leon Chronos: Incredible Enhancement magic, if you were an Enchantment Mage you could have probably set that tree on fire just by looking at it, but then you won't have the fire resistance, still an awesome display. (Leon then uses Time magic to reverse the damage on the tree, unintentionally amazing everyone with this ability)
Leon Chronos: Sebastian, you're up!
Sebastian steps forward and also channels his magic, using his lightning magic he sends a bolt of pure lightning that strikes the tree ripping it to pieces.
Leon Chronos: Looks like we have another Enhancement Mage, Good job Sebastian.
Leon repairs the tree once more and calls for John Crest.
John Crest: Let me show you all how it's done. (John said confidently)
John grabs his sword and a symbol appears on it, then he uses it to slice the tree in half.
Leon Chronos: Impressive Enchantment Magic, I see what you did there, using magic to increase the sharpness of your blade.
John Crest: What of it.
Leon Chronos: Nothing, Mr Crest (Chuckles) Anyway Nina show us what you've got.
Nina Willow: I'm not really a destructive kind of Mage. (Nina said nervously)
Leon Chronos: What type of magic do you use then?
Nina stretches out her hands towards the forest and her eyes glow white.
Nina Willow: Come! (She commands before several animals come out of the forest and lay at her feet)
Leon Chronos: Cool!!! You can control animals?! (Leon asks in awe)
Nina Willow: Not just animals, I can also control or read the minds of people. But don't worry I would never spy on you guys or anything. (Nina said trying not to freak everyone out)
Leon Chronos: Amazing Enchantment magic Nina.
Nina Willow: Thank you.
Leon Chronos: Ok Lance, come and show this tree whose boss.
Leon Chronos: Sorry but I'm not very destructive either.
Leon Chronos: (Sighs) okay then, why don't you show us what you can do.
Lance summons his Dark Cloud and in a matter of seconds the entire camp is covered by it. Leon jumps into the air to gauge the size of the cloud which continues to move through the forest.
Leon Chronos: Wow, this kid's magic zone must be enormous to be able to cover this area in such short time. (Leon said to himself while still in the air)
Leon then lands and tells Lance to remove the cloud, which he does almost instantly.
Leon Chronos: Impressive control of magical energy Lance, your Enchantment magic is amazing, with enough training you might even be able to cover this entire forest with your cloud, although if you were an Enhancement Mage, your body would probably be covered in darkness, allowing you to be able to move unseen like a creature of the night. (Leon jokes but Lance takes took it seriously, thinking about his Dark form and contemplating if he's an Empowerment Mage, that would explain his Dark power, but not the twisted state he goes into when he transforms)
With his demonstration done, Lance goes back to the group with a lot on his mind. Finally it's Rex Striker's turn an he's very nervous, his magic is really dangerous and he's trying everything in his power to stay in control.
