Chapter 231 - Ch 231: Something Was Up

After we finished up our meal and then cleaned up. Cory and I left the room and started wandering the other rooms. For some reason, I suspected something was going on. By the way, he looked at his phone while we ate. He seemed to express stress on his face. Normally, he shows very few emotions so I kinda got the hint something was up.

"Let's go to the one game room," Cory randomly said. "It's inside the indoor pool."

"Ok," I smiled and then followed him to it. Without the kids being home and mostly everyone else was still sleeping. Each room we crossed was oddly quiet. Some of the rooms we walked into had people in them chilling and chatting but they were still quiet. You could tell everybody wanted to take this time to relax. Once we entered the indoor pool. We roamed straight down from the wall and passed up this bar that was in the adult section. Within the middle of the kids' area and the adult area, we entered this room which was a game room. To the right when walking in was a long couch up against the wall. Abby was stretched out there. She never noticed us from being zoned out on her phone. On the same wall at the end of the couch was an empty chair. Near the only entrance was Nick sitting in a chair next to the empty seat. He had his laptop on his lap typing away. In the middle of the room were two guys playing pool. The one-man I know was named Josh but I still had yet to learn the other man's name.

Nick looked up asking, "you get my text?"

Cory sighed, "yes, I did."

"This is going to be a pain," Nick said, sighing in great stress.

Surely this was telling me something was going on. A part of me was getting curious to know but Cory never shared with me about what was going on when I asked him.

Cory then took a seat on the chair between Nick and the couch end saying. "Let's just see how this plays out."

"If she ends up pregnant it won't end up well," Nick told him.

Cory shrugged his shoulders, seeming optimistic. "No, it won't but it doesn't mean she'll end up pregnant. And if she does, will have to handle the situation and see what to do."

Things were starting to come more clear for me. Seeming how adultery is a Kingdom rule. It must mean an unmarried couple mated during the moon phase.

"Sally, you can have a seat." Suddenly Cory's voice grabbed me out of my thoughts. And I realized Cory was staring up at me. For a second, I blinked my eyes awkwardly. And then I likely blushed myself rosy with embarrassment. Now I realized I was kinda just standing here. Of course, this drew attention my way. Whenever Cory outwardly pointed this out to me. Which was making me feel furthermore on the spot.

Abby looked up and moved her feet. "Come have a seat next to me if you want to, Sally," she said, helping me to feel less embarrassed.

"I could," I replied, trying to smooth things out. "But I don't mind standing, I'm always used to being on my feet."

Cory just smiled at me as I went over to take a seat by Abby. Once I sat down, Matt popped himself into the room. He peeked around and then made eye contact with Abby.

"Abby, I'm surprised you're up so early and you're not with Rick," said Matt

"Oh, he's out cold," Abby said being funny. "Why would I be with him?"

Nick said chuckling, "you just leave him?"

"Oh, he doesn't need me the way I rocked his world last night," Abby teased. "He won't need me until the next moon phase."

All the men lost themselves in laughter.

The one-man playing pool with Josh said. "Man, I need to get some pointers from Rick on how to find a lady with Abby's qualities."

Nick said cracking up, "Abby's a rare find, Kia."

Oh, so now I learned this man playing pool with Josh is Kia.

"Oh, please, I just like my space,'' Abby said giggling. "Rick and I are just perfectly matched for each other."

"Yeah that's the truth," Matt agreed. "I always knew you two would end up together."

"Oh, yeah we fell for each other hard before he claimed me," Abby giggled.

Cory smirked. "I remember that. I wasn't surprised when he asked me to claim you. You guys have it made for each other."

I was kinda confused when Cory said that. Did he once own Abby? I didn't know much about Abby since I had just met her yesterday.

"Are you in the mood for some hot tub time there Sally?" While thinking, I realized Abby was looking at me when she asked me that.

"Sure, I just need to get my swimsuit on," I answered her giggling.

"Same here so we will have to do that first." Her eyes veered around me and I realized she was looking at Cory "I hope you don't mind me stealing your fiance away for some girl time?"

I felt a little naive to think I agreed to do something with Abby without first asking Cory. Then again why do I care? I mean it's not like I'm in love with him. He did abduct me.

Cory laughed and told Abby. "No, I don't mind. I'll likely be here playing pool or I'll be at the bar in the swimming pool area."

In Cory's mind, he wasn't about to stop Sally from making friends. He may have been controlling but I wasn't that type of control freak, thought Cory.

I was slightly surprised that Cory didn't seem to mind that I was ditching him to go hangout with Abby for some girl time. Abby and I stood up together and left the room.

"Will head to my room first since I'm on the second floor and then will head to the third floor," Abby told me when we just left the indoor pool area.

"Ok, that sounds like a plan to me," I replied.

Then Abby informed me. "Oh, and Maria will be joining us since she's up. She's just grabbing her swimsuit and then will change together in the changing room from inside the indoor pool. This way we won't disturb our sleeping husbands. They're extremely light sleepers. You and I will meet Maria up on the third floor since you need to get your swimsuit."

Now I was super excited to hear that Maria was up. I was glad to agree with this idea, I thought.
