Cory laughed at me and asked like an absurd joke. "So why are you so surprised that I won't kiss you? I mean we do have a deal."
"What!" I shouted in fury. "Then why did you kiss me and touch me like that!"
Cory laughed absurdly telling me, "because I can kiss your body. What made you even think that I'd kiss your lips? I can't believe you actually wanted me to!"
Oh, his insult hurt and cut me deep. I was stumped by his seemingly cold yet rude remark toward me. His behavior was ignorant and very immature for a hybrid man in his million-age marker!
"I didn't! If I wanted to kiss you, I would have done it the first time our lips got real close!" I offended him rudely and coldly.
Ostensibly unaffected, Cory laughed up a storm. Oh, a storm was surely brewing beneath me as his absurd laughing never ameliorated. He began to walk out of the cave leaving me behind as if I were lit dynamite. My eyes burned hotter than a blue flame as I trailed behind him. Never once did he stop laughing like an ignorant snake!
Just exiting the cave Cory says like a joke when grinning widely, "well, that's funny who said I would have let you kiss me."
My mouth parted, feeling the insult by his ignorant words.
"You are so full of it! You very well wanted to kiss me but I pushed you away every time you attempted!" I yelled viciously to hurt his ego. My heat cycle took the best of me. My mood was flared into pure anger. Yet it only erupted higher to watch as Cory laughed non-stop. He very well knew I was fuming but it didn't even feel like he cared.
"Well, sorry to disappoint you my sweets but I've never had any plans on kissing during any of those times you thought I did. What kinda guy do you think I am? I don't move that fast." Cory said, hinting at a joke in his tone.
The second he told me that, I lost it. When he turned his back on me. Beginning to walk away in the same way we had come. My eyes sighted a small rock on the side of this one round stone. Without caring to think, I picked up the rock and clenched it tightly in my palm. I threw that rock as hard as I could, aiming for his back.
As I watched it fly out of my hand in slow-motion going to him. With no warning, Cory turned and caught the rock firmly in the center of his palm. So fast his laughter was gone and that plastered grin he had perished like it never existed. His eyes turned emotionless and he grew colder. His chilling appearance burned out my raging blue flame. My heart stopped when he gradually stepped toward me with the rock in his palm. Once his darker demeanor self was merely half an arm away. He opened his fingers and dropped the rock at my side. While his empty cold eyes never left mine. So suddenly my angry eyes faded into fear. I was so stirred up in my anger I had forgotten who I am dealing with. Mentally, I prepared myself for the worst.
But then unexpected, his expressionless face curved up a soft half-smile. Ever so delicately, Cory caressed my cheek and said charmingly. "Sally, I won't kiss your lips because I would lose control of myself since you're in heat. I was trying to kill this temptation stirring between us. Honestly, I wanna wait for a memorable time to kiss you. This way it's something we can always cherish together. When you finally fall in love with me."
Suddenly my heart liquefied when he spoke so romantically.
I gave a light smile asking, "why were you being such a jerk then?"
Cory chuckled, admitting, "I was snapping you out of your dazed heat cycle."
Without her knowing this part. Not only did his insulting words burn her but they also burnt me as well. He felt that pain, I put on their bond festering deeply like needles in his heart. Then her rejection didn't help, that struck my heart like a spear, he reckoned.
Just when I was about to explain I didn't mean for my words to come out so mean. Whenever I pulled away from kissing him. But when he mentioned my heat cycle somehow triggered me in the wrong way.
I felt my annoyance rising. "I was not in a daze," I denied it full-heartedly. Or at least I tried standing firm on that one. But he raised an odd brow at me. "Okay fine! I felt it but who's fault is that!" I burst out admitting it but I still pointed the blame on him. I mean we both know he's the guilty one.
"Well, it's not mine," Cory chuckles, teasingly denying it. "I've kissed you plenty of times and you didn't react like that."
My aggravation toward him was flickering back to realize he was mocking me. "You haven't once kissed me like that! Nor have you caressed my body that intensely!" I snapped, getting angry at him again. Was my heat cycle some sorta twisted joke to him! It's his stupid imprint that is causing me to lose myself. I was utterly mad at him.
"Who's to say I wouldn't have since you push me away all the time?" asked Cory further edging me on. "We have a deal, so I am not going to force myself on you. For as long as we aren't married if you push me away I'll back off."
Ugh! He was so frustrating to deal with. "Whatever!" I hissed, "I am going back!" I speed walk angrily past him. "You can go drown yourself in a watering hole!"
Cory laughed as he watched her walk in a hurry past him. Nevertheless, he trailed closely behind her back. "Nah, I'm good," He teasingly heckled her, "I am not you."
Hearing him still picking fun of me. I spun around sparking red eyes scoffing at him. But I saw that sneer like he was enjoying this game. Rather than feed into his immature behavior. I turned forward again and passed up Daniel and his wife, still making out. Until I heard them break their lips but I kept going.
Daniel looked over and said to Cory, chuckling. "You know Serena and I can hear your whole argument."
"Yeah, I figured that," replied Cory chuckling.
Daniel cocked his brow asking, "what did you do to her?"
Cory chuckles louder for a second. "She's a little mad at me because I wouldn't kiss her," said Cory laughing. Meanwhile, I clearly hear him. Oh, I was beyond livid with Cory.
I stopped dead and turned back around exploding with rage. "Ugh! You are so full of yourself, Cory!" I gritted my teeth retorting. And then turned back around and walked away.
"Sounds like you two are having fun," said Daniel laughing at the circumstance.
Cory continued walking and yelled back. "You're having way more fun than I am Daniel."
Daniel and his wife Serena laughed and then started to go back to kissing. All the while Cory left and trailed behind Sally. Without her aware of the fact, he felt the painful burn in his heart too. But he only acted like this to try killing that temptation he wanted to give into.
