Meanwhile, I stood here giggling at the men goofing around. I was surprised Aaron wasn't hurt since Cory punched him fairly hard. But then again, Aaron threw a hard hit at Cory's shoulder. Maybe what seemed like a hard hit wasn't hard to them, I thought. They both chuckled and eased the wrestling.
Coming up from behind them, still laughing. Is Mike stepping up on the rock, dripping wet.
"Finally, got her out of the clothes I see and I missed it," said Mike grinning at me.
"You did but I didn't," Aaron teased as they laughed looking my way. Oh, the gall of these pathetic hybrid men!
"You guys are so childish," I mouthed them giggling.
Mike joked as he dried himself. "Hey, don't worry, I got to see the other ladies undress too."
"On that notion, I'll be over there with Maria and Abby!" I told all three men while going around them giggling. And then, I hopped into the water from the rock edge. As I heard the men still laughing at me from behind.
The water came about waist high. It didn't take long before the water got deeper. So I swam the remaining way to rocky edges. As I heard splashing coming, not too far from behind me. Once I reached the rocky edge, I seat between Maria and Abby. And I saw Cory, Aaron, and Mike swimming to the opposite side of the watering hole. They got out of the water to talk with Pete, Justin, Conner, the other Primaries, Rick, and John were there too. Of course, even from here, I didn't miss Anna and a handful of other single ladies eyeing up Cory. I kinda rolled my eyes to see he sat down on the rock laughing with Miranda and Courtney sunbathing together. It looked like the ladies were more or less jumping into the conversation with the men. Deep inside, I wished they'd treat me kindly like how I see them laughing with Cory and the other men, their husbands included.
"What took you so long?" Maria's question pulled me from my mind and I faced her sitting to my right.
"I was trying to avoid Cory from watching me undress," I replied rolling my eyes.
Maria and the other ladies laughed. "Good luck with that one," replied Maria giggling. "Until you're married this is his time he can check out your body in a bikini and trust me he will."
"I just wish I had some glue to seal his eyes shut," I said making everyone further laugh.
"Oh, come on girl! You can't tell me you didn't check out his body!" Abby says giggling and confesses. "I love looking at my husband's nicely sculpted body. Even before we got married and engaged for that matter. Tons of single ladies are always checking Cory out."
The ladies laughed as I kinda said sarcastically giggle to see many ladies eyeballing Cory, "yes, I see that." They laughed harder catching my tone to witness it. "Fine, I did but don't tell him that!"
"Sally, he already knows," Maria said laughing. "The worst part is you can't lie about it."
"He knows but I still lied. Just because he knows doesn't mean I have to admit the truth." I told everyone giggling.
Abby said cracking up. "You never have to admit it! Just play along and act dumb. Once you confess they will never drop it. These guys are like the worst jokester."
Everyone laughed for a moment until we gradually stopped.
"It seems like you're getting closer to Cory?" Maria pried for answers when changing the topic.
"It's only the moon phase," I told her feeling blushful.
Maria giggled and said deriding me. "It wouldn't be happening if it wasn't for that bond!"
Ursula joined the conversation by Abby's right. "Don't worry, Sally. The guys are off doing their own thing. This is girl time. You can express it all you need."
"Just because I feel changes doesn't mean I want to marry him," I shared leaving it at that.
"Sweetie, it doesn't matter whether you want to or not." Abby said truthfully, "you have to marry him having that claim."
"Exactly!" Maria asked, "but open up girl, how have you been feeling with your heat cycle?"
There was never getting out of anything with Maria, I thought giggling.
"Fine, I feel a pull to him!" I confessed. "I was just hoping it will fade away after this heat cycle."
Maria said smiling. "It will stop but first it will get intense by the moon's peak. After it's over, I think you'll feel a change."
"What do you mean by change?" I asked puzzled.
Abby clarified, "well, you're going to feel the connection to Cory and you'll likely wanna fight it. But I advise you not to fight it."
"I don't wanna fall for him," I stressed feeling disheartened.
Maria said frowning. "I didn't wanna fall for John but once I gave in. My life changed for the better. John's given me more than material things. Marrying him, I was given rank, and freedom as his wife, and we were blessed with three beautiful children. I love John and my children mor..." Maria went speechless in mid-sentence. Her frown curved up into this beaming smile.
"Neighs!" We all suddenly heard and I looked out to see the wild horses were coming out of the woods. Randomly, I loud splash of water hit my body and I looked near to see Maria swimming out after jumping into the water.
"Sorry ladies, I gotta see my baby!" Maria yelled out in full excitement as she swam away to greet her horse.
Abby giggled like crazy. "John is going to have to let her have that horse." She looked at me continuing where Maria left off. "Anyways, what Maria was trying to say is fighting the bond will only make it harder for you and Cory. As you know bonds are dangerous for hybrid men. Your rejection hurts him mentally and it will hurt you too. But one day you'll see all he has done for you. Most of us have seen a difference with him. He's never been like this with any hybrid women. He has a passion for you and only you."
I shook my head not caring to comment or hear what I've been hearing. Luckily, for me, I didn't have to when I saw Cory and the guys swimming back into the water from the opposite side. And it appeared as if they were coming our way.
