"How is Jenny doing after having her baby last night's dim light?" I instead asked.
"She is very weak but recovering. She isn't able to care for her baby yet. She's going to need more recovery time but the baby is healthy." JJ replied when putting away the last stirring bowl we used.
"I'm glad the baby is doing well," I said having care. "I hope she starts feeling better.
"Very soon she will be. She's just weak from blood loss but she's eating food which will help. Just like it's good for you," said JJ leaning his waist up against the same countertop and hidden sink we used.
I kinda nod not wanting to comment on his statement as the alarm peeped off to tell us the bread is done. Using an oven peel he pulled out a hot loaf pan. The bread smelled so sweet and looked delicious and was perfectly raised to a golden color.
JJ put it on a cooling rack and hung the peel back on the hook with the others near the stoned-made ovens built-in the wall. Next, he took our golden plates and cut us each a slice of bread cake. For an extra yummy flavor, he squeezes the freshly cut lemon over the bread like syrup.
He handed me my plate and we went around to the left bar facing the kitchen and sat beside another on the stools to eat.
My mouth was practically drooling when I looked down at the bread to see the whirl color of yellow and pink in the center. Using my golden-made fork, I tasted it, and the flavor melted into my mouth. The bread was so soft and moist with each bite being like eating cake. It went well with the berry leaf tea, JJ made me.
"This is good," I told JJ after shallowing my bite. "This berry tea is very soothing."
"Good," said JJ and shared. "It's a calming tea. It should help you feel better. The bread you're eating right now is a huge benefit for the stress you're under."
"Well, maybe I wouldn't be under stress if Cory wasn't forcing this marriage on me." I sorta hissed without meaning to give my attitude.
As JJ noticed crossing his eyes at me for barely a second.
"Most marriages are focused. Many women in the kingdom have gone through it or are going through it. Even the girls are oftentimes engaged at a very young age. With or without a bond connection the women or girls end up loving their husbands. But you have this imprint with Cory, you'll connect with him nicely." JJ told me but I was irritated to even think I was being forced to go through with this.
"So I have been told repeatedly. It's kinda getting annoying." Again I retorted while I cut my shiny golden fork into the bread.
"That is because you need to accept the fact it's happening. Cory made up his mind. There isn't any way of changing that." JJ replied with hardly any emotion but was delicate since he noticed her heat cycle mood swings were spiking. He knew Cory would be the one to better calm her rather than him.
"So I have noticed." I snipped sarcastically.
"You're mentally fighting this too much," JJ says smirking once he chewed down his food. "Why don't you just relax and enjoy it?"
"It's not easy," I sigh. "It doesn't help that he might want a baby. He just keeps throwing everything at me all at once."
JJ chuckled and said. "Sally, trying to have a baby isn't a easy progress. If it was we wouldn't have Maternity Bio Factories. Even with that the babies still pass easily. Jenny and Cliff have been trying since she hit her breeding age early in her nine-thousand age marker. She's in her million age marker. It's taken her this long to have a baby. They were starting to think about adoption because they wanted a baby that badly."
I took in a breath asking, "I understand that but was she forced to marry Cliff?"
"Yes, by a pre-arranged marriage," replied JJ. "She was forced to marry Cliff at age hundred. Like you, she had a bond with him and was stressed. Over time, she fell in love with him deeply and he's crazy in love with her. He's very blessed to have a baby with his wife."
"Cliff isn't unhappy that he didn't have a boy?" I asked solely wondering.
JJ looked at me saying. "Cliff isn't but I won't lie some fathers might be unhappy because we do want and need boys more. However, that doesn't mean all fathers in this kingdom are displeased with their wives because they birthed a daughter."
"I always heard stories that Kingdom Kind will kill their unborns if they weren't happy about the gender. I mean what if I don't birth Cory a son or birth him any child for that matter." I sadly said as I heard JJ sigh.
"Some kingdoms are known to terminate the pregnancy if the gender conceived wasn't a boy. But that's not how the Royals run this Kingdom. We care for all the women in this Kingdom along with the girls born. Very rarely do we abort our unborns. I'm sure, Cory told you that it doesn't matter to him." JJ honestly told.
"Yes, he did tell me," I replied. "I'm just in a tug of war with this. And I don't always know what to think. I only wish I could stop the wedding."
"We are aware of how you feel," JJ sighed. "However, you're not given a choice. The tea and food should help mend the stress you're feeling."
"It has helped me some," I told. "But I don't think I can absorb any more.
JJ looked at her plate to see she had barely eaten half but she drink most of her tea. He wanted her to eat more but couldn't force it since he knew her stomach cells couldn't dissolve a lot. But considering the fact she had gone some days without a meal and she had dinner last night. JJ was pleased and knew this would take time.
"At least you ate that was my goal," JJ happily said not wanting to further stress her. "I'm happy you nibbled something down."
As JJ stood to clean our plates, I asked, "Do you know what Cory's planning after his meeting?"
"I know but I can't tell you that," JJ smirked as he started to quickly wash the items we ate from inside the same sink.
I giggle saying, "guess I should've seen that one coming."
Once I helped him wash, dry, and then put everything back into its organized spot.
JJ said as I followed him out of the dining room. "Now that you've eaten. Why don't we go find a room to chill in? I'm sure Cory won't be too much longer and Maria should be up soon."
