Chapter 178 - Ch 178: Dinner at the Bistro

Once we arrived at the bistro. Grandfather Phil was greeted by his pal and then we were taken back to this private dining room. That had a long tan marble cream table. We each took a seat on these fluffy green pillows. I sat across the table from Sally between mom on my right and Grandfather Phil on my left. Mom sat by Dad and grandfather Phil was by Grandmother Fiona.

Maria was by Sally's right and Samantha sat on her left. Then Nick sat between Samantha and Ashley. Next to Ashley, are Dominic, Chris, Kimberly, and more of their friends down the line. Clara sat in the middle with her parents, John and Maria. Following them, is Jay, Mike, Matt, Aaron, JJ, Kaiser, and Violet.

Then elsewhere being a mixture of my men and my family's men sat with us too. Most of them were blood-related from serving my Royal family down the line of their descendants. As always our loyal men are like family to us.

Everyone started talking and chic-chatting and whatnot. Grandfather Phil, dad, mom, and Grandmother Fiona were talking to Sally. I could tell they were digging in to know anything she'd share.

The family hadn't seen her in so long since her disappearance. Of course, we'd all wanna know everything about her. However, nobody dared ask about the cruelty she had endured during her enslavement. They only asked simple questions about what she'd like or enjoy.

Unfortunately, Sally wasn't speaking to me and mostly avoided glancing my way. So I didn't try to speak with her and figured she still needed to cool down. I already knew she was only behaving like this because of the moon phase. So I allowed my family to do the talking. Which Sally smiled beautifully and giggled like a lovely song.

Maria told everyone about their adventure during their run-in with the Pegasuses and unicorns. Grandfather was very much intrigued to hear it.

"It sounds like a very bold move. And it doesn't sound like you were scared?" Phil questioned with excitement.

Sally replied giggling, "I was a little scared but not with the baby. The males were scary but they're magnificent creatures with such power."

I broke the silent treatment between us and said in a marveling tone. "They are very powerful but do me a favor and never do it again."

Sally smiled saying, "I have no plans too but I do love being outside. I've never been outside adventuring."

I inwardly gleamed to see she had lightened up on her anger with me. It felt pretty good to see her send me a shimmering smile, I felt.

"Yes it shows," said Maria cackling to think of the trouble Sally found.

Sally laughed at her and said. "It was your idea!"

Maria laughed back and proclaimed. "I didn't plan for that to happen!'

John chuckled and added. "The important thing is you both are ok and safe."

Sally and Maria giggled and gave a gesture, agreeing with John's statement. Meanwhile, dad, Grandfather Phil, and I observed how well Sally was connecting with Maria. It's showing they are befriending each other nicely in such a short time.

"Indeed, John's right about that," I said after chowing down some food when something else came to mind. "You had an interesting day, Sally. Especially with that dream."

Of course, I mentioned this on purpose in hopes maybe she'd open up more. Already, I saw from the corner of my left eye, that Grandfather Phil expressed his interest with a peculiar smile.

"A dream you say," Grandfather Phil started. "Now what happened with that?"

Right away, I saw Sally was uncomfortable. Which told me there was something more to that dream than she was telling. I hated making her feel uneasy but I wanted to know what she is hiding. So started explaining what she told me to Grandfather. And her eyes veered away at her plate where her fingers fiddled and poked at her food with the fork she was using.

Lost in her mind, Sally was freaked to think that he remembered she had a dream. She questioned if he'd caught on that she had lied to him about it. Suddenly, she felt a heated pressure weighting over her body, and her appetite faded. Nevertheless, she took a steady light breath to ease her stress. She gathered herself in an attempt to act casually like it was no big deal. All the while her flesh still felt heated.

"Now that does sound creepy," said Grandfather Phil pulling her from her mind. "Now tell me child do you dream like this often?"

"Well, no that was the first I've had such an intense creepy dream like that," replied Sally trying to play it cool while she noticed Cory's eyes were on her like prey. Goodness, she felt like prey at this point.

"Oh, sweetie," Kimberly added. "I'm sure these are pre-wedding butterflies. Which is known to cause abnormal dreaming."

"Yes, I'm sure it is," Sally merely whispered hoping this was the case.

"If you ever wanna talk to me. Just know I am here for you, Sally," I told her to end the topic. She nods once and took smaller bites of food. It was unclear if what my sister Kimberly mentioned is true or not. But either way, I tend to find out.

After eating Grandfather paid for the meal and everyone walked to the lot where we said our goodbyes. It was dim light so I wrapped my arms around Sally and she cuddled right up against my body side to get warm. Nick carried Samantha while John held Clara. We got to our cars and once we were set we drove down the road heading home.

I glanced through the digital rearview mirror and noticed Samantha fell asleep on Sally's lap. I faintly Smiled to see Sally was brushing her fingertips through Samantha's hair. Her eyes shone love towards Samantha. Barely knowing Samantha, Sally was already growing attachment to the small precious child.

Nick noticed it too when he peeked back to check on his daughter.
