~ My shower was done and I threw on a pair of blue jean shorts. That had gems sewed in to make a butterfly design on the back pockets and on the front of my shorts. Then I wore a light blue tank top with laced sewed around the seam of my cleavage area for a sexy look.
Once I was dressed, I tossed my dirty clothes inside the hamper. I unwrapped my hair from the towel and threw it inside the hamper too. Then left the bathroom and took a seat at my vanity and started drying my hair. Next, I straighten it all evenly. Lastly, I put on some makeup just when I was finishing up.
The room door opened and I heard voices coming into the living room. So I put my things away on my vanity and went down the hallway. To find Cory and JJ took a seat on the couch section facing the tv that was hidden inside the wall compartment. From the other couch section that had the window behind it. Maria and John sat together while I noticed John was the one holding Samuel, cooing alert in his father's arm. The baby was glowing a smile, looking at his dad.
Upon seeing me, Maria got off the couch, saying, "hey, Sally!" She came right over and gave me a huge hug.
"Maria, I am so glad you're back," I said hugging her too. "It's been so boring without you here."
Maria giggled while the three men remained quiet observing how quickly Sally did respond to Maria. Cory withheld his mischievous grin to think about this plan to get Maria and Sally to form a friendship. Might work easier than he had previously thought. He didn't smile when he noticed Sally looking his way after hugging Maria.
"You and Maria can head to the master bedroom to talk," said Cory with this unreadable demeanor. His blank intimidating stare made it hard to read what he was thinking.
"Come with me," whispered Maria when taking my hand to lead me down to the Master bedroom. She and I got up on the bed and sat sorta in the middle but close to the front edge.
Again Maria whispered, "I heard you and Cory were kinda hitting it off yesterday?"
All I could do at first was giggle awkwardly. I rolled my eyes to learn Maria somehow heard this.
"Yeah, he was quite irritating and annoying," I told her sarcastically.
Although yes, I'll admit to myself it wasn't that bad to hang out with him. Well, besides the intense conversation bought up. Then meeting the wolf back was scary but astonishing, I have to admit.
Maria giggled and talked more lowly. "When the guys leave will talk more privately about it. I wanna hear details!"
I rolled my eyes playfully. At the same time, I knew I am glowing red from the way Maria giggled a bit louder. I guess I couldn't hide anything from Maria, I suppose and ended up giggling with her.
That is until I saw JJ come down into the bedroom holding a needle.
"Hey, ladies," JJ started. "Sorry for the interruption but Sally I need to draw some blood work on you."
"Why?" I asked giving him an attitude. "Haven't you already drawn enough blood?"
JJ replied with a smile. "I know I keep torturing you but I swear. I only need to draw some blood and nothing else after that."
"This is what you always say. Then after it's done I know there will be something else you'll need." I said getting snippy at him.
Maria intervened to ease Sally. "It's only bloodwork."
"Yes, I understand that but then it will lead to more testing which will likely be painful," I explained to Maria more settled in my uncooperative tone.
Meanwhile, from the living room, Cory and John heard Sally giving JJ a hard time.
Cory said to John. "I might have to intervene on this one." John looked at him still holding his baby and nodded while smirking at Cory.
"I understand how you're feeling but I shouldn't have to run any more tests after this." JJ tried to reason with me but I knew better and glared at him.
"No, I don't want to do it! Knowing my luck it will end with more testing." I spat refusing to listen as Maria touched my shoulder trying to comfort me.
Sorta out of nowhere, Cory came down glaring at me with his menace dark iced over eyes. The way he appeared to me is the exact reason why I didn't wanna marry him. Whenever he showed me this grim personality it rattled my senses to the core. No doubt when it came down to it I was terrified of my fiance. I hated the fact he knew how to make me quiver in fear. Regardless, of how I felt, I tried to remain strong when facing him in his darker demeanor. It was pointless to even try reading him since he only expressed the atrocious side of his unpredictable temper. He made me miss that more annoyingly playful side of him, he showed me yesterday or that comforting warmness he gave me this morning.
Even Maria couldn't deny Cory's terrifying expressions were even making her feel timid. She could understand why Sally didn't wanna marry him. All in the same thought, she saw Sally held her ground and revealed a feisty strength. Now Maria was getting a better understanding of why Cory was drawn to her. Despite her fear, Sally was a fighter. Certainly, Sally had the right qualities to be a Primary Queen, she recognized.
Maria got the idea this might be why Cory fall for her. After all, to be with a hybrid man like Cory you couldn't be weak or else. Cory would swallow you whole, he didn't care for weakness. Maria knew well, that their Kingdom men were cruel to most outsiders. She understood Kingdom and Baron men were quite ruthless when it came to surviving. Which was more like a sick game to them.
If only Sally understood who she was going up against. More than anything else, Maria understood this confrontation Sally was giving would only end in one way. Where Sally has no choice but to obey. Just like how she had to submit and obey John when she had gone through this once too.
