I took in a inhale of air while looking at her adamant expression. I was a little surprised at her valiant attitude. Even in front of my dangerous allies, she showed no heed in letting me know how she felt. My allies appeared quite amused by her. After all, women in our Society knew better than to speak out of terms. However, even in the society in, which she was raised. Teach their enslaved women not to cross this line. So I am intrigued that Sally can still be audacious. Fear does not hold Sally back. In fact, it keeps her thriving. Typically, I wouldn't hesitate to correct such absurd behavior but for now, I'll allow it to slide.
I leaned forward on my knees and kinda hung my hands down between my black jeans looking at her. I knew this adjustment with her would take time. Her rejection burned me like a lit torch inside. Riding on this lit flame roller coaster with her is going to be quite the match for me. But it's only been seven days so I do need to be patient here.
"I know but that isn't an option," said I. "But I was hoping this could help take your mind off that." I sigh upset to realize my assumption to win her over by shopping and allowing her to buy whatever she wanted has failed.
I think she's the first woman to reject the idea of shopping. All my pals' wives love to go on an endless shopping spree. In my head, I thought this would work for Sally. But obviously it didn't.
Before I could speak the Primary man sitting to my left had something to say.
"Hey, Sally." He urged, "Turn around and look right over there. You see those guys by the corner of the building to your far left?"
Sally obliged by turning herself where she spotted a group of men leaning up against the wall looking her way and around the area in general. Once she turned her head back toward the man speaking to her.
"Do you know who those guys are?" Asked the Primary ranked man.
"No," she said. "I don't know those men but they look kinda mean."
The Primary man looked at her shaking his head and turned his head left smirking at me. I was likely grinning as I leaned back on the bench folding my arms just underneath my ribs snickering too. I knew what he was doing as I gawked at my clueless fiance. She may be daring and brave but she wouldn't last a day out here without me. She's had no idea what threats are lurking between the Allies. Meanwhile, we've been watching this specific group for some time now without Sally and Maria realizing that they are being preyed upon.
Again the man said looking at Sally in a more serious tone. "They're scavengers just waiting for a pretty little thing like you to walk in their pathway. All of us have already taken note there eyeing you, Maria, and her baby up right now. If Cory and his men weren't here with you ladies. All three of you would be taken by them to be sold. That is once they were done r***** and torturing you ladies first. But since we're here. They won't dare mess with either of you ladies. Scavengers hate your fiance with a high passion." The Primary man chuckled lightly looking at Cory for a second and back to Sally. "Trust me, Cory may be tough and strict at times. But you're in good hands with him and he's going to spoil you. He's far better than you going into the hands of those men across the block."
Looking at Sally's uneasy face while keeping a watchful eye on the men in the corner from behind her, I explained. "He's right. They are preying on you, Maria, and the baby. They've been waiting for either you or Maria to wander off just far enough that they could grab you. You'd be taken down fast. That's why I had Matt and Mike go with you and Maria. I figured the scavengers would be out."
She was surrendered voiceless on this one. But her beautiful eyes showed that stubbornness to believe us.
"Look now behind you, Sally." Said JJ sitting next to my right.
Again Sally turned her head back around, to see the scavengers leaving down the block.
She looked at us again seeming confused about our warning. "But I see they are leaving." Was her blind-less statement.
Here we were trying to get her to understand this dangerous threat. But to me, she just didn't seem to get it.
"Yes." JJ added, "Now they're giving up."
Yet, she carelessly nudged her shoulders.
"Sally, I am trying to keep you safe," I said. "One day you will see this, but I just hope you don't learn this the hard way."
"What do you mean by that?" She cocked her head and stared at me strangely.
Still realizing she wasn't getting it. I got up and went to her. Before she could react to get away, I grasped my arms around her waist. "I just hope you learn to trust me soon."
Then I kissed her clueless head. I was frustrated with how sheltered those Businessmen kept her. If my family never lost her she would've always been aware of the true danger that lives in our worlds.
Keeping her by me, I said steering my sight at the men not from my Kingdom. "Thanks, gentleman. Let your Primary King know I'll be in touch with him. It's time for us to head back before it gets too late."
From the bench with this grin. "Hey, you know my boss Deacon will do anything you ask." Said the Primary man, "all you need to do is just say when."
I nodded with a grin too. After some goodbye bro handshakes. We parted way, leaving in different directions. Seeing more scavengers groups collecting about. Without a choice, I had Sally by me in my hold. John did the same with Maria around his arm. Our eyes veered in any direction. For safety reasons, we kept the ladies in the center as we strolled back to the van.
