~ We both heard the main entrance open from down the hall. Cookie and I turned around from the vanity to see Matt enters the room looking at us.
Cookie asked him very sweetly. "Do you think it would be ok to take Sally out of the room? I could feed her breakfast in the dining room and show her around the mansion."
Matt only said pulling out his phone. "Give me a second." He sent a text message on his phone then within seconds, he looked up at Cookie and me saying. "Ya, Cory just said you could but she is under your watch and she isn't allowed outside."
Then he walked back out of the room and left as we both heard the door closing in a screech.
Cookie stared at me through the mirror with a smile and said. "Let me go get you some boots to wear."
She entered my closet and grab a pair of heel-laced black boots to go with my boot-cut dark jeans.
"Put these on and were ready to go." Cookie said politely.
Once the boots were on we both left the room. I looked all over the halls not seeing anybody like yesterday.
"The hallway seems less full today compared to the other day," I stated as we were nearing this beautiful huge wide velvet red carpet curved staircase.
Cookie replies leading her to the kitchen area down this beautiful huge wide-curve staircase. "Yes, mostly everyone was out partying at the dance club. A lot of people were up late so most likely they're sleeping in."
After the staircase, she took me a few left and right turns. Bypassing so many beautiful rooms, that were gorgeously decorated.
I gazed off in such amazement asking. "This place is so big how do you not get lost in it?"
Cookie laughed with a giggle. "Don't worry you'll get used to it. There are over five hundred rooms in this place with hidden doors everywhere throughout the mansion. Some of the doors are locked to us. Only Highest Rankers and Royal men are allowed inside that room. You can use your thumbprint to open up hidden rooms. If the door won't open, it means you do not have access to that room. Then the regular doorknobs scan your handprint once you touch it. If it opens for you then you are allowed inside. I don't know if that was explained to you or not. So that's why I am just telling you in case you weren't aware of it." Cookie said.
I replied annoyed. "No, it hasn't. Not much has been explained to me. Other than my identity but even that's confusing. I'm finding it hard to wrap my mind around this idea of being a Princess."
Cookie replies back with excitement. "Don't worry Sally everything will work out. I promise, give it time and you'll love it here."
After forever pasted, we enter into the spacious large dining room. Many tables were placed in horizontal rows. Across the room was a vertical strip of an open kitchen area. Towards the right is these large ceiling to floor windows. Showing a beautiful garden that had a patio from outside.
"Take a seat anywhere." Cookie said sweetly.
Then she went into the open kitchen whipping up something fast to eat.
[ Author note~In this world hybrid-people didn't eat much and could survive without food and water. Even being mortal. If anything they made the most was fruit drinks. Eating and drinking helped with energy and gave them other helpful benefits you'll learn about later on.]
While Cookie was busy with things from inside the open long kitchen. I took a seat across from the window view to see outside the patio garden. This area didn't seem to be heavily guarded.
Just as I was thinking that. Seven men walked by the patio each of them turning in a different direction. I stand corrected. Looks like Cory does have this place pretty secure, I reckoned.
From peeking up at Sally while she was in the process of cutting some fresh fruits. "The scenery outside is so beautiful, don't you think?" Cookie asked.
More like studying for a way to escape this place. I said subconsciously within my mind.
In a calm unsuspecting voice. "Yes it is so beautiful, it's almost mesmerizing," I said lying to Cookie
Cookie giggled again saying. "I agree with you on that statement."
Cookie came by with a cream gold tray holding a golden plate with freshly cut fruits and a slice of moist bread beautifully decorated. She put it onto the table directly in front of my reach. Next, she set down a fancy chalice-filled fruit drink. Dripped in a sugary glaze around the rim of the chalice. Lastly, she gave me a crystal clear wine glass of water. I noticed plates and silverware are made of real gold. The chalice was decorated with opals and the clear wine glass is made from real crystal. The crystal glass had real rubies decorated around the base of it.
The foods on my plate were cut neatly in a decorative kind of manner. I looked at it not feeling that hungry because the businessman who owned me beforehand had never given me this much food.
I beamed up at Cookie behind me and said. "Thank you, it all looks so delicious and too beautiful to eat. Now I can understand why everyone calls you Cookie. I hope I don't insult you but I may not be able to eat it all. I've never been offered so much food in my life."
Cookie smiled at me and placed her hand on my shoulder saying. "Don't worry. I can see from your face you appreciate it. Eat what you can and I'll wrap up the leftovers for you. This way you can have some for later."
I only smiled and began delicately ate with my golden fork.
After returning the tray to the kitchen. Cookie grabbed herself some food then sat across from me and started to eat. Which was nice not to eat alone.
"Did Cory go to that dance party last night too?" As I asked Cookie while we were eating.
It would be nice to learn more about him and his regular patterns. Maybe it could be helpful and it might benefit me in escaping him easier. But Cookie didn't know this and thought I was likely being curious.
Cookie replied unaware of what Sally was truly up to. "From my understanding, he didn't go. He was in his room with you all dim light. Jay and Aaron arranged the bodyguard set up for the party. I overheard them say Cory was going to turn in for the night. Guess you were maybe asleep when he came into the room?"
Looking back down at my plate, "Yes, I went to bed real early once the sun dimmed." I muttered.
I won't add the fact I remembered him entering the room and to my guess, he was working on something from his laptop. Then after that, I don't know what happened because I drifted off to sleep.
After chewing down some food, "Does he sleep a lot?" I asked.
Cookie raised her brow at me and said kinda stumped to my question. "I don't know. I've never shared a room with him. Nor have I been permitted to enter his room during the night's dim light. But I know most of the times, he's up way before most of us and some of his men." Cookie asked strangely, "Why do you ask?"
"Oh..no reason. I was just wondering." I shook my head in this unusual pitch that mistakenly slipped past my mouth. As if I couldn't be any more obvious here!
Cookie gave me a strange gaze and said, "That's different. I've never been asked what the sleeping patterns to your Head King were like."
I quickly said to cover myself. "Oh, yeah I'm sorry! I didn't see it as an odd question. I kinda viewed it differently in my head and it came out weird I guess." Yet, it still came out in an odd pitch.
Cookie said while laughing. "You're fine, no need to apologize. I know you don't know him but with time you'll get to know him and you'll like him. He may be tough and cold sometimes but he's reasonable and very considerate. He takes well care of the women and children in his Kingdom."
Almost challenging Cookie on her viewpoint about Cory. "Why didn't he answer your text in the bedroom but seemed to answer Matt's message right away?" I asked raising my neatly thin trimmed eyebrow.
Cookie replies. "I'm a servant. If he is busy with something important then I won't hear from him. The message got transferred to one of his Primaries. This is why he answered Matt right away because he is a Primary."
I only nodded still feeling like Cory purposely avoided her message. As we finished up eating. Cookie wrapped up my leftovers to save for a later snack.
She said putting it inside a container. "I'll send this up to the bedroom." With a brighter smile, Cooked asked. "Why don't we go out back to this large living room area? It's quite cozy with another beautiful view from outside."
I gestured yes to Cookie's idea.
