Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Nick's broken bond

I can't reply to JJ's statement knowing what he says is true. I hardly ever lose my temper and the times I do. Everyone does back off. No one would make any endeavor to speak with me until I calmed down.

As for Nick, he did fall for a hybrid-woman. She was from the Average Society but only had one life from not having the Immortality Gene. She wasn't part of the Kingdom. When I observed Nick forming a bond before he did. I told him to stop seeing her before it set. But he couldn't resist his love for her and couldn't stop seeing her.

I never had any restrictions that my men couldn't see other hybrid-women, not from my Kingdom. Only the women in my kingdom had these regulations with seeing other hybrid-men. There was no stopping Nick unless he did it himself.

Which he did but it took him after he was already married and the bond was connected. Things got complicated and it caused him to break his bond connection to his wife. Whenever that happens a hybrid-man suffers for a thousand years loving only the one he was bonded with.

After the divorce was final, she told him she was pregnant and then stopped talking to him. The last call he got from her was to tell him she was in labor at her average society hospital. Once he got there, he found out she had died from childbirth. For a long time, Nick was bitter and not himself from forever losing her.

Eventually, he started to court the women in the Kingdom but still suffers deeply because these women can't take his pain away. Not until a thousand years have passed but he's at least trying to move on. He's a wonderful father to his motherless child, and we all help and support him.

At times his broken bond does impact his fighting skills. When he has his lowest declines in suffering. I've had to take over his Division many times. Until his mind would level out from his anguish. Lately, Nick has been stable which is good.

However, if a bond is happening with me, I need to resist it while I still can. Yet, I can't resist this pull I have for her. Looking at her beautiful face warms my careless frigid heart. I cannot believe I am saying this to myself as JJ gives me a puzzled expression. To now realized, he was done sealing her arm back together.

"Since your finished here. Make sure you clean the cuts on her feet from running in the woods." Dropping the topic I instructed him.

JJ replied çhuckling. "I did that yesterday when I changed her bandage to her arm. Guess no one noticed her feet were cleaned and healed."

"No, I haven't paid much awareness to her feet," I said with a chuckle.

Trying not to chortle, JJ said. "Ya, I've noticed you been too dazed looking at her face."

I only laughed, ignoring him for the most part. "Ok, guess she's cleaned and patched up. I'll take her to the bed."

"Yup, her arm is healed now. You can take her there and I'll continue cleaning up the bathroom." JJ replied.

I gently carried her bridal style to the left side of the bed and laid her down carefully. I placed her head on the pillow and lifted the blankets from underneath her. After straightening out her dress, and removing some hair from her face, I covered her up. Then ambled back into the bathroom to help JJ finish up. With cleaning all the blood on the sink, mirror, and floor.

Aaron, Jay, and Mike came hurrying into the room.

"Ok, what happened? We were all outside and heard this hysterical outcry coming from your room!" Aaron inquired looking around but saw no intruder.

JJ and I had stressful looks on our faces, from coming out of the bathroom.

After taking a breath, JJ replied. "Well, I went to fix her arm and found out she absorbs pain medication. Like how sedation medications have hardly any effect on her. She felt everything and it was already too late. Her arm was already opened up to the bone."

Shocked, Jay replied, "Wow, I knew something was up. Took us some time to run up here to see what was going on. The men are wondering what's going on too."

"Text them all. Just say it's all good. We just had a situation." I said, with no sensations.

"Sounds good, just making sure we weren't under any attack." Replied Jay.

I peeked at him çhuckling and explained. "No, everyone can chill. It's just the girl is all. I faced her way. "She's ok now and sleeping as you can see."

While looking at her asleep on the bed, Mike said. "Yeah, I can see that." More captivated by her. "Wow! She is really beautiful cleaned up. I knew she was pretty but she has a gorgeous glow to her." He is relatively stunned by her rare beauty.

We were all amazed and agreed with Mike's statement. Until my phone rang. I pulled it out of my back pocket to see it was my Grandfather.

And quickly answered the phone."Grandfather Phil!"

Grandfather said, "Sorry for the delay. I have freed up some leeway. We can talk about the enslaved woman you have. You can bring her if you like."

I replied still ogling at her sleeping, "No grandfather, I will just be coming with some of my men. Just let me finish up a few things and I'll be on my way up."

Grandfather replied, "That's fine, I'll see you soon."

We both hung up the phone, and I slipped it back into my pocket.

Still find myself dazed at her asleep on my bed. "Alright, Jay and Aaron you guys ready to get going?" I asked now turning around to face them.

"Yup, let's go."Both men nodded as Jay said.

"Ok." I asked, "JJ and Mike you guys good?"

"Yes, go do what you need to do. I'll watch over her and make sure she's ok. She should be good now that it's done. I'm more concerned about her mental state at this point. I don't feel she's ever experienced something that dramatic before." JJ told me.

"Don't worry. Matt and I will help with that. All will work out with her." Mike confidently replied.

I nodded at all of them and walked out of the room with Aaron and Jay.
