Chapter 11 - Chapter Ten

"Jack the Ripper strikes again," I read out loud as I took a sip of my tea. "What a busy little boy he is," I said as I put the paper down. Noah chuckled slightly as he opened the curtains to a lovely full moon. "It's time to see if he's Hunting today," I said with a smile. Today I intended to get rid of one enemy. This way he wouldn't be able to target me or my human servants.

"Noah, pick out a simple dress for me to wear. Perhaps my riding outfit will do," I ordered as J took another sip of tea.

"Yes my lady," Noah said as he tied the curtains in place. I smiled and took another sip of tea as I flipped through the paper. Nothing interesting was happening. Noah put my riding outfit on the bed next to me.

"Thank you Noah. This outfit will work perfectly," I told him with a smile.

"I shall get Kristen to dress you," Noah said with a smile.

"That would be wonderful, thank you Noah," I stated. He nodded and then left. I took a sip of tea and studied the headline. Tonight would be his last night. I would have to gather the Hive and ask the undertaker where Jack the Ripper frequented. After all, Jack the Ripper was an enemy to all Vampires. He was, after all trying to expose us. If he continued on his killing spree he would achieve his goal. Then there would be war between humans and Vampires.

I finished my tea just as there was a knock on my door. "Come in Kristen," I said as I put my empty tea cup down. Kristen, my maid entered my room. She helped me dress. After she was finished I thanked her. She smiled and then left. I followed her out of my room and then left my house, heading to the undertaker's shop.

"Sapphira!" Adrian exclaimed with a large smile.

"Hello Adrian," I said, returning his smile with one of my own. "How are you?" I asked with genuine curiosity.

"He's doing good," Bartholomew answered as he opened the shop. Adrian nodded with confirmation.

"I need a favor. I know you don't give out where other Vampires are but I need to know where Jack the Ripper frequents," I said. Bartholomew studied me.

"Why do you want yo know? Are you planning to kill him?" Bartholomew inquired with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes I do intend to kill him," I replied.

"Why?" Bartholomew pried.

"If he is successful in exposing us, there will be war between you humans and us Vampires; and the humans associated with Vampires will be the first ones who are killed," I answered in a matter of fact voice. Bartholomew nodded slightly as Adrian studied me.

"He frequents the bars and whore houses next to the harbors. This way he goes undetected," Bartholomew said, breaking the silence. Adrian nodded with confirmation.

"Thank you Bartholomew," I said with a small smile.

"You didn't get this information from me," Bartholomew mumbled as he walked away.

"I'll tell no one," I told him. He made a sound in the back of his throat and then left.

"Try Whitechapel," Adrian said, happy to help me. Then again I was probably the only one he trusted.

"Thank you," I said with a smile. He returned the smile and nodded once to show me that he had heard me. "Good night Adrian," I told him, still smiling.

"Good luck hunting," Adrian said with a smile. I returned the smile, nodded once and then left. I focused on the Blood Bonds. They sang in response. I sent my intentions and waited for them to respond. They arrived shortly after my intention was sent.

"Planning on killing Jack the Ripper? Good, he's been greedy," Allison said with an evil glint in her eyes. They all looked eager to kill Jack the Ripper. "Split up and search the docks," Allison ordered. We obeyed her. I headed to where Whitechapel was, keeping my presence hidden.

I had no intention of revealing myself. Not right now anyway. I wouldn't reveal my presence to him anyway. He deserved to be assassinated. Him and his legacy;and I would make sure he remained dead.

I reached Whitechapel and sensed the presence of many Vampires. Which Jack the Ripper was part of Hive. Or perhaps the ruler of this Hive. However there were only eight other Vampires besides him.

I would need help with this. I cautiously sent my message to the other members of the Hive, hoping this wouldn't reveal my presence.

No other Vampires moved or attacked. My presence was still unnoticed. I breathed a quiet sigh of relief.

Allison and the rest of the Hive arrived shortly. "So this is where he's hiding. With a Hive too," Raphael mumbled.

"He must have killed the leader. No Vampire would have agreed with his views," Allison said quietly.

"You would be surprised at how many Vampires want to rule the world," I whispered with a small frown.

"Humans are our food source though. If we make them go extinct, we would soon follow," Misty, one of William's fledglings commented in a quiet voice.

"He's lost his mind," Raphael said in a barely audible voice.

"He must have," Allison agreed.

"Enough talk, let's just kill him already," Hope said with a smile, revealing her fangs.

"Yes, let's," Allison agreed with a wicked grin. We snuck up to the house, concealing our presence.

"Split up," Allison ordered in a quiet voice. The rest of the Hive split up. I stayed with Allison.

"Together?" I inquired in a soft voice. Allison nodded with agreement as the rest of the Hive entered the house. We entered the building.

Right away we were attacked. Allison's hand went through the Vampire's chest, destroying her heart as I decapitated her. The knife she had been holding fell to the floor. I grabbed it and placed it against her throat. The skin sizzled. I quickly placed it against where her heart had once been as Allison continued on her way.

The presence of Jack the Ripper was no longer around. He had escaped the massacre of his Hive. I scanned the perimeter and I felt him running to the docks. I left the house and followed him, running after him at full speed.

I reached him and drove the silver knife into the side of his neck. I had a better fate in mind for him. He screamed in pain as I twisted the knife.

"Priest!" I called as I noticed two gleaming eyes.

"Priest isn't here," Pearce said as Jack the Ripper struggled against my grip.

"Then consider this an offering of peace," K told him as I tightened my grip.

"Why would I want his filthy blood?" Pearce inquired as he stepped out of the alley.

"A mutual enemy dead," I stated as Pearce stepped closer. "It benefits both of us. Afterwards we can go back to trying to kill each other," I said when Pearce reached me.

By now Jack the Ripper had been ceased struggling. He had either accepted his fate or given up. Pearce looked mildly interested by my offer.

"What do you say?" I inquired.

"Tempting, but I think I would like to kill you both," Pearce responded.

"There must be something better than killing me," I said as Jack the Ripper began to struggle again.

"Killing you slowly after torturing you," Pearce stated as I twisted the knife again. "That sounds like fun," he said with a smile.

"Anything else?" I asked with a sigh.

"Nothing that I can think of," he replied with a chuckle.

"So a mutual enemy dead wouldn't satisfy you?" I questioned. "Or perhaps you didn't hear me," I commented.

"I heard you. I just want you dead first," Pearce said with a smile that revealed his fangs.

"Can you curb that urge? Or do I have to kill Jack the Ripper? My guess is that he just fed," I told him, hoping this would catch his interest. His smile faded and he looked mildly interested by my statement.

"Really?" He inquired with mild curiosity.

"There were plenty of dead humans where we found him," I answered as Jack the Ripper ceased his struggling once more. By now I could see the defeat on his posture.

"Your offer sounds more intriguing now," Pearce mumbled as the Hive appeared.

"I would certainly hope it does," I said as the Hive surrounded him.

"A Hive? Smart idea; numbers are always a pain to deal with," Pearce commented as he glanced around.

"Blood sucking whore," Jack the Ripper hissed as Pearce focused on me again.

"This blood sucking whore just got you killed," I stated as Priest arrived. Priest took one look around and backed up into the shadows.

"An offering to Priest then, if not for you," I told Pearce as he studied me.

"Perhaps that would be best," Pearce agreed after glaring at me.

"Not everything is my fault," I commented.

"I like to blame it on you," Pearce said as he cautiously walked over to Priest. He whispered something in Priest's ear. Without me knowing that Pearce had moved, Jack the Ripper was screaming in pain as Priest drank his blood.

When Priest was finished he ran as Pearce drove the knife I had been holding into Jack the Ripper's heart. He decapitated him and then walked over to me.

"I could kill you now," Pearce commented as he studied me.

"You could kill all of us now without a second thought," I stated, hiding my nervousness.

"This is true, but you're proving to be to be mildly amusing. I may keep you alive for a little while," Pearce stated with a smirk. He then ran away, moving so fast that none of us could follow his movement.

"Who was that?" Allison inquired with a mixture of curiosity and anger.

"My enemy," I answered as I looked at her. She mouthed the word "oh" and fell silent.

"We'll kill him," Raphael said with a reassuring smile.

"We can't kill him. It's been tried," I told them.

"Have you decapitated him?" Allison asked.

"No, but his brains have been blown out," I replied with a nod. "Not that it would kill him, but it didn't even slow him down," I told them.

"No need to worry, we'll kill him," Allison reassured with a smile.

I smiled and nodded. I wasn't convinced. After all, how could you kill our Origin? If we tried, he would consider a of us his enemy. That was also giving him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't already consider us his enemies.
