I have been here in this cell for about two whole hours. Not that I had a sense of time though. The only other person around was a lanky man who was dressed in some kind of warrior get up. He seemed to be the guard and he was well away from where I was in my rat-roach infested cell, comfortably seated on a rickety wooden chair while I had chains around my wrists and feet.
I had long since given up on screaming since my throat got sore. I just leaned with my head against the cold bars separating me from freedom.
My misery and gloom were distinctively uplifted when the guard just got up from his seat and walked over to my cell with the keys in his hands.
He slowly opened it and motioned for me to make way for him to undo my shackles. His hair was completely white and his eyes were sunken. The armour he wore seemed ancient. When he turned to place the shackles back in the cell, I saw my chance and took it.
I ran as fast as my legs could manage towards the only entrance to the jail I was in. As I was about to touch the knob, I heard the old guard say something. I felt my left leg lift off the ground and an unseen force tugged hard at them. I held the knob for support.
But alas, I stood no chance neither did the knob. We were both pulled back toward the guard. I ended up upside down a distance off the ground by my left leg, with my hands dangling about helplessly.
When I looked up from the ground, I saw that the guard had raised his hand and some strange symbols had formed in the air about a centimeter from his hand.
"It's time for supper." His nasal voice sounded so scratchy and was filled with boredom mingled with exhaustion. Not ignoring the fact that it would have been difficult to understand if not for the word supper. My stomach rumbled at the sound of the word. I was literally open to any existent meal as of now. Though I was still amazed to see magic being used up close. That was my second time seeing such a thing after my black rock teleportation landed me in this predicament in the first place. Wait the rock....I can still escape if i can activate it again. The dormant rock slightly moved in my pocket in response. As to how it got there I have no idea. But it did bring me a little hope.
It's effect was rendered dull when I'm looked at the angry old man right in front of me whose wrinkles showed that he'd seen people do better.
"Listen kid, you better give up on escaping. Even if you found a means of escaping this cell, the seal on your legs placed by little Sullivan would teleport you back here." He pointed at my heels and then at the seals on the cell floors. They had the same set of inscriptions.
The force on my leg let go and I once again landed my front....painfully. The guard motioned for me to follow and I obediently obliged since I had nothing else to do anyways. We went through a different doorway and ended up in a large hall with other prisoners and their guards as well.
It looked like a big dining room with numerous heavy looking wooden tables that stretched across various parts of the room. The wooden chairs were plain and definitely didn't look friendly. The food looked as bad as the furniture and tasted like shoes and socks soaked in sewer water.
Regardless of the horrible taste, I shoved it down my parched throat and drank some of the sludge that was supposed to be something like a soft drink. As the last morsel reluctantly reached my mouth, someone dropped their ass right across the table I was at.
"You have been found innocent and therefore I, Sylvanus Sullivan, son of Sullivan the Supreme, declare you free from all charges." It was the same guy who turned me in. This guy looks way more pompous and pretty than I remember.
Though deep down inside seeing his face just had me mentally murdering him in twenty different ways under five seconds, I knew the handsome idiot was just doing his job. Sullivan, huh??
"I would like to compensate you for the trouble I have caused you by placing you here." He continued without giving my glare a second thought. "I am inviting you to dine with me in my home. And if you seek refuge, I will assist you along with any other thing you may need. Such is befitting of payment to one I have offended as a member of the Royal Family of Sullivan."
Wait, he just said royalty right???! Maybe I should just take this crazy knucklehead's offer and figure things out...starting with where the heck I am??
I slowly put the spoon down so I stare him right in his eyes. My gaze made him nervous. For just a few seconds, I stared and he uncomfortably stared back at me awaiting a response.
"Okay I'll go with you." I break the silence and lean in closer with my hands under my chin, trying to look as intimidating as possible. "But..." The 'but' had his brow shooting up. "..... you're gonna help me figure some stuff out until I know what the hell is going on. He looked at the guard and back at me after the guard just shrugged.
"First let's start with getting this seal off me." I point at my heels as the guy nodded in agreement.
"Yes. Yes, that. Give me a moment."
He then stretches his hand at me from across the table which begins to glow red. "Lamas takil mamori anorus" The seal lit up and the vanished as though I had never been there. I flexed my ankles a little feeling a little relieved that I wasn't going back there again officially.
"Get her some good clothing." He says to the guard after noticing my satisfaction. The guard silently bows and makes his way towards another exit. "I'll be waiting outside." He gets off his chair and heads out of the dining room of misery.
I was given a blouse and a skirt because that was all the guard whose name I didn't even bother to ask could find in that short amount of time. I hid the the black stone where all women put priceless stuff they don't wanna show anyone. Only then did I notice how big they had gotten. I don't remember them being that big. I looked in the mirror again and saw someone almost completely different yet so similar. I looked........ older. What in the world happened to me??!!!
I was a teenager now.
