Pen touches paper as a note is written.
To my beloved Fiancé,
Meet me in the garden, alone please, once you are done packing.
I want to spend some alone time with you for a little while, because God knows when we will ever get the chance again… I'll be waiting.
Sincerely yours – forever, I hope,
Kegan of Luna
Smiling, the young prince heads to her room, slides the picture under the door, and quickly flies to the garden in the palace. He doesn't have to wait long before she comes through the wide doors, smiling at him. Her graceful steps are careful as she walks towards him, no doubt wondering what he is up too. Instead of answering her confusion, he meets her, takes her into his arms, and kisses her passionately. Pulling away, he murmurs into her ear, "Finally we are alone." Laughing, he takes her hand, and leads her deeper into the large garden.
She sighs as she follows him.
Leading her under several orange trees, which creates a sort of tunnel, he squeezes her hand tighter. As they pass the last orange tree, they come into a beautiful little space, almost like a room. It is made up of trees and flowers. The moss covered trees loom up over head, almost blocking out the night sky, but letting a few stars to be seen through their branches. Many different colored and shaped flowers lay everywhere, creating the smallest of meadows. Lastly, there's a fountain directly in the middle. Two stone doves look up, chest to chest, as water splashes around them in elegant streams.
No one could possible bother them there.
Knowing about everything in this kingdom, she has already been here. "I didn't think anyone knew about this place."
"Well, I just happened across it while I was searching for you…" His smile is happy and nervous at the same time.
In answer, she smiles softly and heads over to the fountain. Staring into the water, she sits and looks up at the prince.
The moment is more perfect than he could have imagined. There are night birds singing and chirping, the water babbling along with them, and the stars casting just the perfect light through the trees. With love in her eyes, she watches him walk towards her. His gaze is intense and serious, but with the same love as he steps closer. As soon as he is right in front of her, he gets down on one knee, all the memories with her flooding into his mind. There is no way this could be a mistake. Out of his pocket, he takes the small, but significant little box into his hand. She gasps a little when she sees it and tears start to fall down her cheeks. He opens the box and shows her the ring, "Will you marry me?"
Through the tears, she smiles and exclaims, "Yes!"
Standing, he slips the white golden ring, with little diamonds embedded all around its surface, onto her finger. Their arms wrap around each other as their lips connect in a heated kiss full of love and excitement.
Breathlessly, the prince murmurs, "I love you," into her ear as he pulls away.
She blushes and says, "I love you too."
