Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 - Lies

I went to my old room, slipped into the old tee and got ready to go to bed. I set the oils on the night stand and turned off the lamp. It seemed darker than I remembered. I reached back for the lamp but couldn't find it. It was as if it was no longer there.

I panicked and fell to the floor. It felt like I landed on a slate of ice. Shivering, I felt around for the bed. It too seem to have disappeared. I closed my eyes, I'm sure this is a dream, I thought to myself.

A warm wave of air permeated my skin. I opened my eyes and I was still in the room, with the lamp on. I stood and sat on the bed once again. I knew I'd be sleeping with the lamp on tonight.

I saw movement from the corner of my eyes. I looked right, towards the door and there was Samus, standing tall.

"Don't startle me like that Samus. What business do you have being here anyways?" I asked, perplexed as to why Samus would even come to Pa's house.

"I have been watching you today. I want you to know that what your father has said is true. You are to poison him."

"And why, may I ask, am I being tasked with killing my own Pa?"

"You will see soon enough." He said, seemingly sad. His face held sorrow. His eyes fixed on the ground in front of us. "Here." He held out a piece of white cloth, matches, and five small glass jars. "These are for you, to tend to your father when he passes."

No emotion touched Samus' face. He looked void.
