Crouched in the trees at the edge of the human-made clearing, Enozarc watches as the dark shape of Ausren's body drops gracefully to the ground off the tower. Caution thrown to the wind, the prince flashes across the open expanse and vanishes into the trees, the little form of the human balanced on his back.
Rolling his lip up, the little dragon growls. "Disgusting," he snaps, shaking his head to rid himself of any parasites being this close to the humans might have given him. The scab at the back of his head twinges in response, but the large gray warrior crouched next to him does not react at all. Instead, Dneir has his head tilted slightly to the side, his fiery eyes a very long way away. That damned thinking face again.
For just a moment, Enozarc waits patiently for the warrior to notice the little dragon and fill him in on his thoughts. Just a moment though, for it is not long before the blue dragon snaps, "What?"
Dneir immediately snaps to the present, though his eyes don't leave the human's fort.
"Ingenuitive creatures, aren't they?" the gray warrior finally murmurs.
"Stupid and breakable is closer to the truth," Enozarc replies. "Why?"
"Our objective hasn't been completed yet."
Enozarc blinks at the larger dragon, for a moment wondering if Dneir's brain has flown off and left him.
"Dneir, as much as I love slaughtering a good human or two, I'm not crazy about suicide," Enozarc growls. Dneir has always struck him as the cool and calculating type, quite sharp. And yet here he is, wanting to complete the objective and launch a second attack on the fort.
"It's not going to be suicide," Dneir replies, finally looking at his small companion.
Staring up at his crazy comrade, Enozarc feels the instinct to order Dneir off the idea well in his chest. Two dragons? Against this lonely fort full of humans? Even battalions of well-trained soiraw have failed to capture a human fort in decades. It's definitely walking willingly to death. And yet…
This is our chance. This is our chance to finally do something, to make the push that may turn tides. To finally take something back from the wretched humans and push our side to victory.
After a moment of silence, staring down at the floor of snow and fallen pine needles, Enozarc finally looks up at Dneir and asks, "What are you thinking?"
Dneir grins, his amber eyes flashing in the dark.
"I'm thinking… water conducts electricity."
