I looked at my finished sketch of the hooded figure. I swear he looks creepier and creepier everytime I draw him. I had even given him creepy red eyes and several row of teeth.
"Ok everyone this coming weekend is gonna be all work and no play as we try to find this hooded figure Charlie saw in the woods" Gus said as he unfolded a elaborate map onto the floor where he had circled potential hiding places.
"I do not understand. Why do you think the mysterious person would be at these locations?" Ricky asked as he grabbed some chips from the treehouse kitchen.
"Because he seems like the kind of guy who likes dark and spooky places" Gus said, munching on some chips. Sometimes his logic would make sense. I looked at the map. One of the potential hiding spots was near where I lived. The abandoned church and the old graveyard.
"So here is the plan. We split up and take a spot each. Make sure to keep your phones charged so we can take pictures of the mysterious hooded figure. Once we see him snap a pic. Once we have a pic we head straight to the police station and show them the pictures" Gus said.
"That is an excellent plan Gus" Ricky said. Gus smiled. I was still looking at the map, barely listening to the ongoing conversation that was happening. Suddenly I felt a jab in my side. I looked up and saw Gus staring at me. He looked concerned to say the least.
"Hey Charlie why are you spacing out like that?" he asked.
"Sorry. I was just thinking" I replied.
"About what?" Ricky asked.
"What if the hooded figure knows we are out looking for him? What if he brings a weapon?" I said.
Ricky and Gus exchanged worried glances.
"I didn't think about that. Maybe we should bring something to defend ourselves with" Gus said. I nodded in agreement.
"Then it is settled. Tomorrow the hunt begins." Gus said.
