The name of the hotel was 'Sinners' Paradise'.
"Woah..."
When we stepped in, Kaili was the only one to release sounds of awe, but Jeanne and I were also impressed by the decor. It might not seem like the best comparison, but the fact that the lobby here was comparable to the one in Queen's tower, was proof that a lot of money had been pumped in here. Furthermore, in terms of additional decorations like art pieces, the hotel had it beat.
While in the texts of the races under the God of Light, demons were only seen as savage and cruel creatures, this hotel showed that demons also knew how to appreciate fine art.
'I wonder if demons have famous artists too.'
I wished to take my time relishing in the high-class environment, but unfortunately that was not allowed.
"Oh, what an interesting scent. What race are you?"
On our way to the reception counter, Jeanne was called out by a beastman with a wolf head and brown fur. Since beastmen faced cruel oppression under human rule, it wasn't odd to see them in Lambda though they weren't really under the Evil God's protection.
I couldn't sense any malice from him, but the way he looked at Jeanne gave me an uncomfortable feeling. And it seemed I wasn't the only one as I noticed Jeanne turn to him with a cold glare.
"Leave me."
"Come on, don't be so cold. All I want to do is have a little friendly chat with you. You won't have fun if you don't learn how to loosen up."
As he chuckled like a lowbred scoundrel, my hand twitched when I saw him swing his hand towards Jeanne's butt, however I quickly remembered that as a mage Jeanne never forgot her preparations.
"Hm-, ahh!!!"
His hand was stopped about ten centimetres away from her robe, by a barrier that he hastily removed his hand from once he felt an instant of intense pain.
Even after he drew back his hand, he was still left in agony while rolling around on the floor, but all I did was make sure to block Kaili's ears and keep her eyes away from the disgraceful sight.
Once we walked off, I noticed a group of hotel staff rush towards the screaming beastman and carry him away with experienced movements.
'Guess I can't expect much in terms of security.'
I was sure that I wouldn't be disappointed by the hotel service that I would be provided, but if we were weak then maybe we wouldn't even have a chance to stay here. Maybe they would stop the common rabble, but it didn't look like this place had a very good customer protection policy.
"Welcome to Sinner's Paradise. How may I serve you?"
After being greeted by a mature demon in a butler suit, Jeanne quickly made arrangements for a premium room. As she was finishing up, I saw Kaili with that strange look in her eye again so I asked her about it.
"What is it?"
"I was right. You two are lovers."
"Huh? Why do you say that?"
"Because big sister nonchalantly got a single room for all three of us. That means she's used to sleeping in the same room as you."
'Ah, damn, she's actually not too off there. I don't know if she sleeps too, but Jeanne is normally in the room when I'm sleeping.'
I felt slightly cornered at how close her answer was, but I still had an explanation for this.
"No, it's not like that. She did it for you."
"For me?"
"Mhmm, she's worried that you wouldn't know who to sleep with so we got one room so that all of us could sleep together."
"Oh..."
Since she didn't say anything else I considered this my victory, but something about her eyes told me that she only relinquished the victory to me this time.
After we got our room sorted out, we enjoyed an elevator journey to reach it. This time, I even got to see through the elevator walls, even though not for long.
'Now all I need is some boring elevator music.'
While I secretly made plans for my future elevator, we arrived at room 266 where we would stay.
"Woah!" Kaili exclaimed.
I thought that my expectations were reasonably high, considering all the gems wast-, invested into this room, and I wasn't disappointed. If you considered that only the owner of the room could use the key and that there were several magic items in the room that made daily life and recovery easier, this place probably surpassed any hotel room in my past world.
While Jeanne and I only quietly admired the refreshing space, Kaili jumped out of my arms and ran into it.
"This is amazing! I feel like a noble lady!"
Even though my castle was obviously bigger than this place, the room could probably beat any average house in size.
'You could probably raise a family here. Assuming you had the funds.'
Since Kaili was still having fun exploring the room, we called room service for dinner. In terms of appearance and quantity it was quite impressive, but sadly I still felt that fast food could beat it.
Though the ingredients were all top-tier, if you ignored the additional benefits of eating the meals and focused on the taste alone, there wasn't much variety.
'I guess demons don't spend too much time on food culture.'
Still, I was also being kind of harsh, after all it still surpassed everything I had eaten so far since entering this world.
"Delicious!"
Looking at Kaili who joyfully stuffed her face, I figured that everything could just be summed up in that one word.
'That's right, no need to take it so seriously. Good food is just good food.'
After dinner, Jeanne and Kaili went to use the bath first. While I could still inevitably hear what was going on in there due to my sharpened senses, it was just Kaili having fun and Jeanne taking care of her. And no, I did not expect anything else. I'm a perfect gentleman after all.
"Excuse me, master."
While they were still in the bath and I was relaxing on the couch, I received a telepathic message from Jeanne.
"Hmm? What is it?"
"Do we have any clothes Kaili could change into?"
"?! Give me a sec."
'Well, that totally slipped my mind.'
While hoping that I wouldn't have to go searching for children's clothes at whatever time it was, I looked into the storage of my ring. As expected, I wasn't lucky enough to find something made especially for children, but there were a few small gowns that could probably work.
I also kept Jeanne's share of supplies in this ring, including her, um, undergarments, but though I could kill without batting an eye I still felt a little embarrassed taking it out.
'Damn it! If I had realized this earlier I could have just taken out two to begin with!'
Both because I didn't want to get up and I didn't want to cause any accidents from happening, I teleported the clothes into the bathroom.
"Will that do?"
"Yes. Thank you master."
Soon after, Jeanne and Kaili came out in matching nightgowns. Kaili looked especially cute since the gown seemed to be wearing her instead of the other way around, but I found myself mesmerized for a moment when Jeanne appeared. It was a simple silk gown that lightly emphasized her body line, but the extra exposure of her skin was enough to make me speechless.
This was the first time I had seen her wear anything besides work or battle clothes since becoming my familiar, so I couldn't easily brush it off either.
"Master?"
"Huh? Uh, nothing."
I appeared to have been out of it for too long, but I was sure that I didn't reveal my thoughts on my face as I turned away and sat up. However, that thought was naive.
"Mister, mister, how do I look?"
The use of 'mister' still caused sudden damage but in my disoriented state I managed to quickly get over it.
"You look cute, Kaili."
"Yay! What about big sister?"
Only once she mentioned Jeanne did I realize the true meaning behind Kaili's smug smile.
'This little brat.'
I was reluctant to admit, but she got me. It would be too disgraceful to forcefully change the topic so I quickly said what I needed to.
"She, looks cute too of course."
As I glanced at the slightly blushing Jeanne, and the Kaili whose smile had gotten even wider, I quickly retreated to the bathroom.
'I need to cool my head.'
By the time I returned from a well needed bath, Kaili was already sleeping beside Jeanne on the bed. Once she saw me, Jeanne nodded before going back to gently caressing Kaili's head.
I could teleport back to my castle, but I hadn't gotten any messages and Brad didn't seem to be in danger so I went to the bed instead.
If she was awake then she would probably form a smug smile and tease us about sleeping in the same bed, but even then sleep was sacred. Even if it meant her calling me a pervert I would still protect my sleeping space.
...Okay, maybe pervert would be a bit much.
"Master, what will you do about this girl?"
In Jeanne's eyes, I could tell that she wouldn't stop me no matter what I answered, but she had obviously started to feel a little attached to her.
"That'll depend on her. She's the only one who can decide her own future."
