Ugh… why do my whole body feel sore?
I try to open my eyes, but the lids seem to weigh like stones, so I give up momentarily, and then try again about twenty seconds later, and this time, I manage to open them slightly, and what I see is just a blinding light.
After a few minutes, I get used to the light, and I can finally see what surrounds me, an immense expanse of water in front of me. I try to turn my neck slightly, on the opposite side, to see where I am, but I only see a forest, just after the beach.
I'm at the sea?
Why am I here ?, but above all, because I don't remember anything, no, I remember something, I was a student of ... I don't remember ... I lived in an apartment, in a small town in Italy, but beyond that, I can't remember anything, what were my hobbies, my family or friends. I would like to remember at least my name, and above all, because now I am on a beach, alone.
Maybe I hit my head, this would explain the amnesia.
Now maybe it's not the time to think about it, I should get up, and go to a doctor, to be checked, maybe I have a concussion.
Now the numbness of the whole body, which I felt before, seems to have subsided, so I try to get up again, slowly, I can get on all fours, but the moment I try to get up on two legs, I lose my balance, and I fall on the sand.
After another attempt, I see that there is no way to get back on two legs, I get back on all fours and try to move, and strangely, the movement comes naturally to me, it almost seems to have done it all along.
As I take a few more steps, I realize that there is something wrong, I should be much taller than that, even if I am on all fours, but then I cast a glance, where my hand should be, in contact with the sand, but I only see a hairy blue paw.
"No ... it can't be, surely I was wrong to see, it's the fault of the blow to the head" I tell myself, but what I hear is something else. I hear only a meow.
"It's just a hallucination!" I try to say to myself, but what my ears hear is just "Meow"
Because when I try to speak, only that sound comes out? Could it be from the blow to the head? I absolutely have to go to a doctor, I don't want to spend my life meowing.
After about ten minutes spent reflecting, I decide to go closer to the sea, to see what situation I am in, and in the reflection of the water, I see a blue furred cat, looking at me with a puzzled expression
I'm a cat! ?, how could this happen, I mean, I like cats, but becoming one of them, maybe that's a little too much. Which god decided this punishment for me, maybe it is for something I did in my old life.
After half an hour of reflection, I decide to check the environment in which I woke up, cry, because I am no longer human, for the moment I will put it aside.
I approach the forest with caution, now I should find out where I am, and especially if there are human settlements nearby, and maybe get food from some old cat-loving lady.
I go inside the forest, but I decide to stay on the outskirts, you never know, there could be wild animals in there, better not to risk it. I find a tree, the largest one nearby, and I try to climb it, but it's not as easy as it seems, when cats do it, it seems so easy.
I try to get my nails out, and after some practice, I understand the process, it's a weird thing, and how to move your fingers, it's instinctive. I try to climb, slowly going one leg at a time, but after a meter and a half I fall from the tree, it's not really easy.
After numerous attempts, after an hour, I finally manage to reach the top of the tree, to observe the presence of buildings in the distance.
I look around, making a three hundred and sixty degree turn, but what I see are only trees, so I'm in a forest who knows where on the planet
Then a movement in the distance catches my attention, I see what looks like a deer, being chased by a tiger. I've never seen a tiger live, but I don't think they're the size of a car.
How am I going to survive in this forest full of giant tigers, like a cat, maybe if I tell him we're cousins, he won't eat me? Well let's keep it as a last resort, better avoid it.
I also have to think about food and water, for food, I should start by hunting animals smaller than me, such as mice, or maybe even insects ... For water, on the other hand, I have to hurry to find a river, or at least a source of water.
But more importantly, now how do I get off from here, I can't call the fire brigade to help me get off, so I have two choices, go down slowly, hoping not to fall, or jump from up here, and hope to fall on all fours. Better the first.
