The Parlis Bay community library was her safe space on most days, serving as a sweet respite when the stress of pretending and posing got too overbearing. It wasn't a well-managed building when she had first started coming there. With sunny beaches, open waves, and clear waters, not many people looked towards indoor activities. So, she made it her first official contribution to fix the library and make it functional.
Thomas and Cheryl had scoffed at her when she had brought up the idea at first but when she mentioned all the positive effects it would have on the family image, they were more than ecstatic to help out, as predicted. Now, the building was in a much better state than it had been before. It still didn't have many patrons, besides herself, but it was running smooth enough for her to come there at any time of the day.
