Chapter 1 - Prologue — First part of boring instruction

I have a dream,

In that dream,

I was a supreme,

Might with fame,

Revered by them,

But it was just a dream.

"Xuanyuan! Xuanyuan! Stop daydream and answer the question on board."

A yelling voice arose him from his imagination. Xuan abruptly shook his head to look at the beautiful woman wearing a black suit, yellow shirt, and white glasses with a hitting stick in her hand. She appears no more than thirty years with her face, her blonde hair, and her brown eyes — Qingxuan didn't know why, but he's attracted to her.

'Is this what they call falling in love with older women? But she's my teacher. For god sake." He thought, taking a glance at her.

"Miss Whyte? Is there something you need?" Standing up, he said.

Teacher Whyte's face sunk, trying her best not to erupt with anger. Xuan felt weird and took a glance at his fellow students, back to his teacher, and finally the board she says to answer:

We've been together for four years and it's time for us to finally part. Middle School ends and another Higher Education awaits you. But before that, mind you tell me what's your biggest desire is?

"It's your turn, sleeping Xuan." His teacher joked.

"Is that a compliment?"

"Stop beating the bush," snapped Teacher Wythe. "Answer the question."

"Alright, alright." He really can't tease her. Seems cold every now and then. He glances at the board again, fell into deep thought.

On his mind played a scene. In that scene, he was surrounded by thousands of people. He stood in the center with just a sword in his hand. Whistle of winds flutters his hair and his long sleeve. Bitter blood trickle down his lips. He gripped the sword with clenched fists, almost oozing out the blood on his palm, and incite a sword light across the land.

Almost instantly, the scene shattered with the shout of his fellow students. He smiled wryly at them and finally had an answer on his mind... Only that, he can't say that loud — It will be treated as nonsense anyway and possibility of being treat as a person with mental illness. He can't afford to spend his years in a mental hospital.

"I want to be an I.T. Getting hired and code my first game." He said plainly. As usual. "Why ask twice? You already did before the school year started."

"Is there something wrong with that?" Teacher Wythe seems didn't believe his answer entirely. She pointed to the boy sitting beside him and said, "Look at Zeke, four years ago, he dreams to be an engineer, three years ago a policeman, two years ago a pilot, a year ago a seaman, but now, he desires to pursue Animation and will be enrolling on that strand next school year. Yet here you are, haven't even changed once. No wonder girls don't like you."

Xuan rolled his eyes and glance at his seatmate. Zeke was a fabulous young man hiding his face behind his book with a foolish smile.

Looking upset, Xuan said, "I want to become an Immortal capable of flying in the sky. I bet you don't believe me."

"Nonsense." Teacher Wythe slammed Xuan's table, startling Zeke because the stick was inches away from touching his arm. The clock sounded suddenly. "Alright. The school ends. You can leave now." After passing those words, she hurriedly walk towards the door, not bothering to give Xuan another glance— She felt he had a serious mental illness. No wonder he was always alone sitting near the window and laughing in the middle of a class staring at his phone. No wonder. No wonder.

"Man, I wish you goodwill. At the time you become an Immortal, be sure to bring me back from death." A robust teenager patted Xuan's shoulder as he passed.

Did I make a fool out of myself? He chuckled. Then look at the window, at the clouds, and at the blue sky. What's wrong dreaming of Immortals? Xuan shrugs.

By the time Xuan notice it, he was already in the hallway on the way to his locker. All around him had been flooded with emotional atmosphere; girls hugging, boys laughing, and some even went as far as confessing to their crushes, which ended with harsh rejections.

He shakes his head. Although Xuan had crushes, he never went far apart from gazing from the distance.

Xuan arrives at his locker and pulls the things essential to him. Middle School finally ends. Now, he can binge all those xianxia novels out there.

The more Xuan thought, the more eager he was to jog way back home, lay in the bed, and read all day. However, before he could shut his locker for the last time, a hand blocks him from doing it.

"Xuan. How about it? Had you decided? C'mon man. I promise this time, no mistakes will happen."

Xuan turned to see a boy smiling foolishly. He looked at him, closed the locker, and began to walk.

"Xuan. C'mon man, we need you. With your cold face, your black hair, and your star-like eyes, the girls will not get bored. I heard Jane will tag along." The boy followed behind him.

"Jane?" Xuan stopped walking. He looked at the boy head to toe and glared, "For real, Zeke, Stop messing with me. I said I'm not going."

"Man, I'm not lying. I know you like Jane, that's why I ask one of her friends to invite her. This is your chance. You really want to let this slip by that easily?" said Zeke helplessly.

"Last time, you said the same thing."

"Why can't you believe me once?"

"Fine. I'll believe you this time. But if I found you're lying, I will leave even if you tell me to stay." said Xuan, though he was feeling hesitant — Wondering what he would say once he meets his long-time crush.

'For once, I'll try my best to brave. It's just a confession anyway. Hell, I don't care if I'm rejected or not.'

"Don't you dare take your words back." said Zeke hurriedly, trying to zip out from Xuan's pupil, but knock his head before saying, "I almost forgot, I'm such an idiot. Xuan, be sure not too late. It will be 7 in the evening in the Mist Restaurant. Cya then."

Xuan hadn't even blink twice when Zeke had already mixed with the students.
