Chapter 1 - Book One: The Capital Roses, Ch. 1: All Alone Again.

MARTHER WAS FEELING ALONE.

Again.

She had been on dates, asked out people on dates and been turned down for dates, after that she felt rather crap. She had had a small crush the other day but they turned out crap too, "crap" seemed to be her mosed used word at the moment, crap crapity crap.

She always wondered what it was like feeling beutiful, sometimes people complemented her on her golden hair or her pretty little face, as they would all tell her. But she didn't agree, she never had a lasting date or any lasting friends, her life really was down right bull-crap.

Occasionally she viewed herself in her wood framed mirror, which stood, sulkily, beside her dresser. If people really did see a beautiful girl, then Marther really couldn't agree with them less. Not only was she a bit short, nobily need, she had a wierd wart by her ear, she had had it since she was born.

As Marther walked her bedroom floor, staring meanlessly at the light blue walls, she stopped, and looked out of her bedroom window, through her red-checked curtains. There bellow her, at her front door was Judia Fenth, her least favourite person to see first thing on a Monday morning, probably some bad omen, magically foreseeing a rubbish day ahead of her.

'Hi, Miss Moehile' Fenth said, perpously miss pronouncing Marther's surname, 'I was wondering whether Marther is hear? I am needing to speak to her.'

'Oh, yes, she is hear, little girl, would you like to come in?' Seriously, Marther thought, why can't my mum see a Paine in the ass when there asking about her daughter, why?

Just then, Marther's mum shouted up that Fenth was here, Fenth came running up to her bedroom, and said,

'Talk about a boring bedroom, god!' Then she grabbed poor Marther by the ear and ran down the stars. She stumbled hopelessly, her ear roaring with fiery paine. It felt like her ear was slow!y being ripped apart, getting hotter and hotter.

Finally, after screaming, on the inside, of paine, they got to the bottom of the stairs and into the kitchen. Before Marther could even grab her bag, Fenth swepped her, like a broom, out of the door.

One typical, stupid arse, Marther thought, hatefully.

Fenth ran at a quick pace down the road, so fast in fact, Marther was finding it hard to keep up with her (her ear felt way worse then before, since Fenth was still grabbing on to it tite). They stumbled past bewildered looking class mates, and other fellow pupils of the town's only comprehensive school.

Many times Marther tripped over her own feet.

Finally, the two of them stopped at a small path going down into the woods, Fenth then turned into it, dragging poor Marther along with her!

As they got deeper into the woods, Marther began to heir voices, they were young, both male and female. Fenth, who had started smiling suspiciously, turned again and stepped through a Rhododendron bush, not yet in bloom, and probuly killed any chances of it flowering.

Through the bush, was a group of around five people, around a year older than, maybe eighteen? Apart from two, a boy and a girl, who were around her age and looked like they really didn't want to be there at all.

The tallest boy there said 'welcome Marther Moehill. We've been expecting you.' You was about five foot, grey hair and was wearing school uniform, Evan though Marther had never seen him anywhere before until now.

'Welcome, welcome, welcome! I have heard all about you Marther Moehill, Ms. Fenth has told me all about you, how in year seven you cried for your mother, in year eight you got cheated on a dozen times by your ex-boyfriend? What a goddamn arsehole you are, aren't you, my dear?' He asked it so horrifically, with such an evil look in his eyes.

'What do you want of me, you peice of crap?' Marther asked, terified to speak.

'Nothing, we just have you, your our wierdo target?' He said, sneering, 'get her, guys!'

Instantly, all of his five other cronies (including Fenth) lunged at Marther, Evan though the two young ones seemed slightly reluctant to charge at her. They battered her face, stomped on her nose, clicked her figures into the most awkward positions. They quickly ran away, left her there, lying sadly, on the floor, in a pool of blood, from her broken nose.
