Chereads / The Danish King Arthur / Chapter 10 - The Ship on Ice

Chapter 10 - The Ship on Ice

Now.

There is something all the Knight-Vikings of King Hrólfr like to do, they like to race.

And no.

I am not talking about a foot race, nor a ship race… well, per se.

It is probably best if I explained it.

It should come as no surprise that Scandinavia is a cold-ass location.

But, thankfully, the Vikings have learned how to turn this frozen desert into a land of fun; by racing through the Baltic Sea on a longboat.

Crazy, I hear you say, but to that I say!

Well, they are Vikings, what did you expect? ;)

Dane was on a longboat with Od and Vöggr.

The Baltic Sea was not frozen solid, so they were all just waiting for some wind, but that was when Dane finally said;

" Njörðr, give us some wind "

Which the god of the sea did, and boy! did he bring the wind.

The longboat raced through the waters, like a dolphin on adrenalin.

Od and Vöggr both made sure that the longboat did not crash, but that was when they all saw a Titanic-Killer like iceberg ahead of them.

" Helios… " uttered Dane.

The god of the sun now came to their aid, and melted the iceberg in seconds.

Od and Vöggr ensured that they would not crash into a smaller iceberg, for that would just be embarrassing since they survived the big one.

After much holding in their breakfasts.

The three of them had now finished the race.

Understandably exhausted, they now returned home, to their King and friends, in red and white Denmark.
