Hi, my name is bones. I dont have a surname because I never knew my parents . I dont know my birth name but my caretakers called me bones because thats all they could see when I was dropped off at the orphanage.Charming right? Anyway im 13 and just getting out of middle school and im currently having a panic attack.
why am I panicking you ask? well I just had the sudden realization that I have to go to highschool, which wouldn't be a big deal if "highschool " didn't include fighting on alien battle fronts and hunting soul beasts 😅. on top of that even though people think I dont have a soul manifestation yet they still want me to go fight. truth is even if I told them about my phone being my manifestation it wouldn't change much anyway, I dont have any abilities except really good downloading speed and free unlimited data and an undying battery.
let me explain further if your confused, a couple thousand years ago a bunch of super smart people shot some particles really fast at eachother and accidentally created the first portal to another dimension, which saturated the world with spiritual energy and perminantly tethered us to that dimension.
soon after people started gaining abilities and the fortunate few became wickedly strong which helped our race survive. one of them being the renowned elon dusk, even befor he opened up his soul space he was an amazing and brilliant man, after he opened it all of his qualities were exponentially enhanced and he got the legendary blueprint soul manifest.
with it he created advanced weaponry as well as technology to fix physical and mental impairments creating a more advanced and healthy generation.
his weaponry which is still used today to keep is safe from dungeon outbreaks and used in interplanetary battles with a few hostile species we stumbled apon when experimenting with the portals.
back to me panicking, even though we have such advanced technology people are still needed as foot soldiers and cannon fodder. which will be me in a few months and I have absolutely no idea what to do. I dont have any background so I cant rely on some powerful spiritual cultivation meathod and my manifest isn't something research based so I cant become a background guy. *sigh , I wish I could just get strong enough where I can be left alone to play my games and read.

Bones while having a panick attack while walking home talking to noone for some reason didn't see the couple arguing ahead him. he walked between them and noticed the woman had a hellish expression while she was stabbing down with a sharp blue knife , naturally he responded by trying to block the knife with his phone which is especially hard due to it being a soul manifest but ended up getting stabbed through as well as his hand.
realizing she stabbed the wrong person the woman recalled her knife into her soul space and ran away while the man called the ambulance. bones vision had a black ring forming around it and befor he passed out he saw his blood being sucked up by the hole in his phone and blacked out.
he woke up in what he presumed to be a hospital and noticed his hand hurt like hell, he looked down an saw that it looked perfectly fine except the massive scar in it. he realized they already healed him and got up to leave, noone stopped him asking for his insurance or money due to this kind of thing being an every day occurrence which lead to the government enacting a universal Healthcare system.
it didn't really make a dent in their income due to nost materials being almost worthless except soul metals and spirit gems as well as beast hides and bloods. most resources became overly abundant after the portals since they had access to limitless worlds.
he headed to his home/ the orphanage and went to his room not bothering to talk to anyone since most were busy with whatever they were doing. he closed his door quietly then he flopped on his bed but couldn't find it in himself to sleep befor checking on his phone, it must be said that soul manifests could heal themselves but he had never experienced it himself so it was only natural to worry.
he summoned it from his soul space and looked at the smooth black screen thatis without a single scratch, he then noticed that the originally black casing on it now had strange sequences of red in the pattern of a person and for some strange reason he thought it looked like his silhouette.
he opened the phone and noticed a new un-named folder, he clicked and saw 4 apps. rpg 1.0 , inventory, stats, skills.
he clicked on the rpg 1.0 and it showed a cartoonish picture of the orphanages layout with an above head view where he was standing.
he scrolled for a bit and saw he could see any activity within a decent range from him. under the screen there was a switch symbol and he clicked it taking him to a screen of a small version of him in a grassy plane surrounded by small blue slimes that were moving around at a snails pace.
Not knowing what to think about his phones new functions he wanted to see if there was anything else it could do, he exited the app with an excited look on his face and clicked the inventory app, the screen showed rows of empty boxes .
he scrolled down and it appeared to be endless, he tried to push a pen inside his screen only for it to click his screen and do nothing. he then tried to imagine the pen going into one of the boxes and surely enough it disappeared and a box showed a pens image with the number 1 under it.
excited by the thought of having his own pocket dimension which was a very rare ability he wanted to see if he could put things in his inventory without the app being open, which it turns out he could. though he did have to be in contact with his phone.
at that point bones was beyond excited , he already figured out what everything was so he clicked over to stats and saw the screen displayed

Bones thoroughly read through his status and understood mp is wisdom(×2) • intelligence.
while his health is his durability (×1.5) • strength (×2) . and was incredibly happy seeing that he has a points and levels meaning he can get alot stronger and could maybe survive highschool.
he clicked skills just to see if he has any yet.

•Gamer's habit -MAX- Due to the user having the habits of a gamer, to maximize grinding the user no longer feels the fatigue when you stay up all night to grind or spend countless hours doing repetitive tasks.
•Gamers metabolism- MAX- Due to the user having the diet of a gamer. your body is able to consume nearly everything(edible) and convert it into energy without any negative effects on your bodies shape.
•Readers prediction- Max - Due to the users frequent reading they are able to observe patterns subconsciously and guess how future events may play out. activation is random. no cost
•Avatar summoning- Lv.1 - An ability gained due to the user mixing his blood with his soul manifest, the user can spend mp to summon and respawn an avatar connected to the gamer in another dimension and control it with his manifest. 50 mp per use
•Weapon grap sacrifice- lv. 1- the user has the ability to grap the opponents weapon sacrificing some hp. hp cost relative to attack strength and weapon type.
and not surprisingly he had a few, though less than he thought he would've gained throughout his life but it might just register skills hes gotten since he's gotten the system or the nost notable ones.
in absolute awe of his own ability he decided to lay down and process his future plans.

After a good hour of contemplating he decided to test out the full scope of his abilities, the first thing he wanted to try out was the avatar ability which he assumed was the little version of him in a field of slimes. he went on the rpg 1.0 app noticing the 1.0 part and passively thinking about what future updates would do. He clicked the switch symbol below the screen and tilded his phone for better performance thinking he might want to invest in some Bluetooth controllers later but thats not important at the moments.
He started getting used to the controls and was surprised his phone forming buttons on its corners making the controls more familiar. rather than being excited he got a little depressed since it would've made alot of the games he's played on here alot easier 😔. anyway he got used to the controls and they were pretty simple.
B-dogs' attacks at the moment were limited to basic punches and kicks and changed depending on the stick he controlled with his left thumb. up=upper cut down=hammer fist. left=left hook.... you get it.
he a dash ability that moved his character a little away from where he was which will be pretty useful for kiting and evasion. he finished playing with the controls and made the avatar walk up to one of the slimes to see what its attack patterns would be.
as expected the slime moved slowly, stopped and sprung forward a little bit like a gelatin cat with no bones. he hit the slime and took away 5 hp out of 50. he noticed the character didn't have a stamina bar so he assumed he could play this endlessly which he just might do depending on the results of his experiment.
He ended up slowly killing the slime just to see if their attack pattern changes when they have lower health. which they don't but its always better to make sure instead if wasting mp on respawning. He got 5 xp out of his required 50 needed to level up. he went up to another 9 slimes spending only two or so minutes killing all of them. None of them had any drops but that wasn't too surprising for low class monsters and his luck stat not being that high.
Once he killed the last one he got the level up notification, he switched tabs quickly since he never closes his tabs b/c he has an undying battery.

Happy to see he gets 10 points per level though may sound high aren't too much considering there are people who can destroy planets with a sneeze.
Though he was surprised seeing his hp went up and saw that his speed and strength increased too.
Meaning his ability might be alot more op than he originally thought, he thought he'd have to start an exceraize regimen to gain stats but it looks like his little avatar did everything for him. Maybe that little guy has a connection to my soul and its like my own way of cultivation, doesn't matter how it works as long as it works tho right?
He spent the next two hours killing 546 slimes which got him a total of 2730 xp leveling him up a total of 9 times and needing only 7 more kills to get to level 12. He was grinding like always and the notifications got in the way of his view so hie turned them off eventually. he ran over like the other 547 times but this time the slime was red.
Wary of a rare beast he inched toward the slimes strike zone ready to dash out to see what their attacks power and range is. no matter how close he gets nothings happening , he sees their health is higher so maybe its just a more durable version made for defense instead of attacking. He ended up saying fuck it and jumped and did a hammer strike which did a few more points of damage than a normal one.
When he hit it it only did 3 points of damage put of the 300 which means his guess was right, he was about to hit it again but befor he could the slime burst out a fireball and took all 324 health points he had. when his avatar died he felt a large sting all over his body, not comparable to the burning to death the avatar experience but 100th of it exactly. Which still hurt like hell but was tolerable.
" huh, it looks like xp isn't the only thing it shares with me. I guess the drawback is pain but its well worth it if you look at the full scope. It also gives me all the more reason to play better so my avatar lives."

His stats had a large increase, most notably his hp and strength. he did take note that he has to check the change in stats to get said change of stats, during his game play the character never showed signs of greater strength so he figured it worked the same for it too.
With a new level of power he started up another avatar and grinded for the rest of the night , he let himself get hit so he could time his recovery rate and gain some needed endurance and found out his mp and hp recover were .5% per second.
Every time he hit 200 points of health he would stop letting himself get hit and go on the evasive. Though bones could feel it when he got hit it never effected his real life hp it just had a watered down version of the pain the avatar felt which made it a tolerable sacrifice for power.
He repeated this process all night and his killing rate notably increased due to his new found strength and speed
