Chapter 2 - 2. Red House

I woke up in a dark room. There wasn't a single ray of light seeping through, just the sound of water droplets falling and an awful smell. It smelled like an animal had died and been left to rot here. It was making me nauseous.

My clothes were still damp and my scalp had a prickling pain because of what happened earlier. My knees and ankle burned in pain because of the assault I put them through. Even though that was expected but I didn't expect the dizziness I felt.

I haven't eaten much before everything started too invested in making the plan and too dumb to consider that the execution of the plan may take more energy than it took while making it.

I curl in a ball and sit frozen in a place sometimes consciously or else unconsciously because of the dizziness. I don't know if it was the day or not but once someone did open a small window and threw something in my direction before closing it with a thud.

The thing landed near my knee and I picked it up. Wrapped in the newspaper were three slices of bread and a small plastic bottle of water.

I smile when I see they didn't bother with a plate and glass this time. Too bad I can't use a fork and shard of glass to escape this time.

However, my smile vanished when I looked at the bread. In my twenty-three years of life, I spent fifteen years in the orphanage since the age of eight when I ended up there, and even though the food wasn't the best it was edible.

This was inedible. My stomach complaints as I raise it to throw it in the corner, so after some consideration I take a few bites and chew it with water.

The first few days went like that meanwhile I befriended darkness in the small room they were keeping me. Food was given twice a day and they would blindfold me and take me out once throughout the day to the washroom.

My days would be spent thinking about how I would escape again. Even though it seemed impossible since they would be keeping a strict eye on me as I already tried to escape once...and almost succeeded. But staying here is not an option. And I would do anything to get out of here if it means I would be free. It's not like I have anything to lose.

I was sitting there just thinking about how I can make them trust me to live outside this hell of a room when I hear footsteps. The footsteps get closer and then stops.

I hear the jingling of keys and then on my left a metal door opens. I instantly covered my eyes because of the light rays that entered. Staying in the dark for not only hours but days had made my eyes sensitive. Finally, when I adjusted my eyes I saw two tall men standing there.

They both were bulky and probably in their early thirties. One of them wore blue jeans with a black t-shirt and the other black jeans with a black t-shirt.

One of them grabbed my arm and yanked me up. My knees were ready to give up but the man kept me still.

"Who are you? Why are you here? "

My voice sounded foreign and for a second I couldn't recognize it.

"You have been summoned." The man holding me up replied and started walking, dragging me along since I still have muscle cramps from a few days ago.

"By whom? "

Nobody replied to my question and just kept doing their work. I didn't bother asking again because I have an idea where they are leading me.

The man who was waiting at the door shut it behind us with a loud bang which makes me flinch, then grabs my other arm and starts walking too.

Since it's my first time leaving that room without a blindfold I start observing the surroundings. It would help in escaping.

The hallways we pass are dimly lit with wooden doors on both sides. Soon we started hearing some noise. They weren't any noise but rather grunts, moans, screams, and cries.

I gathered all the energy I had in me and started walking the fastest I could with the pain in my knees and ankles. The two guards snickered beside me, still holding me tight but thankfully said nothing.

We took a few lefts and a few rights and then finally stopped in front of a big mahogany door. The guard on my right still holding me knocked on the door. After hearing a gruff 'come in' we entered.

The room was dimly let just like the hallways and the walls were painted red making the room look scary. But that wasn't what scared me the most. It was the man sitting behind a dark wooden desk looking directly into my eyes.

The reason I was here and the psychopath I was running away from.

"X-Xavier." I cringe as I hear my voice breaking and hope he didn't notice it but the newly formed smirk said something else.

Xavier is the owner of a popular strip club in London known as red house. But it doesn't end here. He smuggles young girls from different states and countries brings them here and forces them to work as prostitutes and escorts. I, however, was kidnapped from this same city. The easiest kidnapping perhaps. The reason being I have nobody who will file a missing report for me.

I wait for him to speak and he does.

"Welcome back babygirl. I hope you had fun while escaping even though my men didn't enjoy it much." His voice was calm and cool but I know better. The storm is yet to come.

With his graying hair and calm demeanor, one would easily take him for a grandfather figure in his early sixties but if one would look in his eyes, the evil will speak volumes because Xavier can't be anything other than a devil on earth.
