Chapter 2 - Changing

Clay woke up with a start as Timber was yowling as if in pain. But before he could check on her he was incapacitated by a searing pain himself. It was worse than anything he had ever experienced before, it was as if his body was being torn apart and put back together again over and over again.

This pain raged throughout clays body for hours until he eventually passed out from the pain, and when he came to he was on his bed covered in his own blood, sweat, tears, and, bile.

As he was examining the mess a thought broke through his muddy mind and he remembered 'TIMBER!'.

Timber was his faithful companion and had been by his side for 5 years that day, she had helped him stave the loneliness that sat dormant in his mind.

As he started to remember what had happened horrible thoughts plagued his mind, ' what was it that happened? Where's Timber? Did she go through what I did? Did she make it through? Could I make it without her?'

Clay had come to be dependent on his loyal companion over the years and the thought of losing her made him lose all rationale as he ran through his house virtually plundering every room.

Finally he got to the previously unused guest bedroom as he opened the door he cried out as he had finally found Timber, but not as she should have been, but he knew it was her as he could feel her as if they were linked in a way.

Timber had changed from what clay remembered she looked like in the past. As Clay was trying to wrap his head around everything he felt Timber's vibrant emerald like eyes shining with intelligence lock on him, he felt a chill go down his spine as he thought 'I'm glad she's on my side.'

Clays once small and adorable house cat was now a Snow White beast resembling a mountain lion, as Clay watched Timber hop and stroll around the room he saw her muscles ripple underneath her fur, her ferocious looking maw full of sharp teeth gleaming with a frightening light, as well as her claws which used to me enough to barely do anything but minor scratches now look as if they could easily kill with no hesitation.

But no matter how much she changed Clay still knew it was Timber but he also knew that she was agitated and frightened with her change in size and appearance, so he decided to do what he could to calm her.

As he called to Timber she came over to Clay and once they had both settled he gently ran his hand across her soft fur.

Once their mind had finally calmed the fog that had been over Clays thoughts had finally been lifted. As soon as this happened however he noticed the changes in his own body and couldn't help but to freak out and run to his bathroom.

As Clay was examining himself in his mirror the first thing he noticed was that his previous brown eyes had turned to a bright electric purple and his vision seemed to have improved, the next thing was his body namely his height and his figure, he had increased in height by at least five inches and his body looked like it had been chiseled from stone as his muscles were near perfect, and his previously short black hair was now long, it was well past his shoulder blades and streaked with lines of deep crimson. But the most odd changes were the red/gold geometrical patterns in his skin that started on the backs of his hands and spiraled up through his arms and shoulders and setting on his chest.

As he was admiring the changes that took place in his body he couldn't help but to wonder what in the hell had happened to him and if there were changes that took place in his body that he couldn't see currently.
