Jade was currently on a flight going to NewYork. Her dad wanted her to come to Spain for a while but she has decided to fax the Paperwork and Designs to her sister Ruby. They'll handle the rest, she has already done her part.
When the pilot announced that they'd be landing soon she took a deep breath and smiled. She was excited that she had finally arrived back home.
She walked into her apartment pulling her mini suitcase behind her. Jetlag was written all over her face, she was so exhausted. She went straight to her bedroom, removed her shoes and crashed on her bed.
After four hours of sleep she finally woke up. Jade took her phone from her bedside table and checked the time. It was few minutes past seven. She was starving, she decided to text Lily "Hi b, I'm back from my trip and I'm starving can i join you for dinner? I'm on my way to your apartment."
She knew Lily always ate dinner around 7:30pm so she still had some time to bath and change her clothes. She quickly ran into the bathroom to get ready.
After her quick bath, she wore a big white sweatshirt and a black tight leggings.
She rushed out of her apartment only to find Vincent coming out of his apartment too.
Jade locked her door and kept the keys in her mini purse. "Hi neighbor." She said with a huge smile.
"Hi neighbor"he mimicked with a funny expression on his face.
She chuckled."where have you been?" He asked.
"I travelled out of the country for a business meeting, I just got back a few hours ago." Jade replied
"okay, so you just got back and you're going out, aren't you tired or something?."
"Actually I'm tired but I was able to sleep a little. I didn't shop for groceries before i left and I'm starving so I'm going over to Lily's to have dinner." Her phone beeped, it was a message from Lily.
"I just got your message b, welcome back. I'm not at home right now I'm out with Damien. When i get back we'll catch up. Why don't you make an order of something to eat. I'll see you before midnight, love ya."
"Shit!" Jade muttered.
"Is there a problem blondie?." Vincent asked.
"Apparently Lily isn't home so I'll just order something to eat."
"I'm going out to eat dinner, you can join me if you'd like."
Jade smiled. "uhm thanks but I'll just order something."
She took out her keys from her purse but her stomach grumbling made her change her mind. He was already walking towards the elevator but stopped in his tracks when he heard her voice "Wait, i think I'd join you for dinner I'm really starving."
Jade looked at the Motorbike parked in front of her with two helmets dangling on the hand grips.
"Ohh no....no.....no..... I won't ride on that thing." Jade was scared of riding a Motorbike. It would be her first time that's if she's even gonna agree to ride on it.
She has read too many articles about people who has died from a motorcycle accident. She doesn't want to take the risk.
"Why not? It's fun." Vincent said then he took the helmets and handed one to jade.
She shook her head, not taking the helmet "I'm scared.... it's not safe to ride that."
"Please just trust me, you'll be fine i promise." Vincent said.
"I think I'll just go back to my apartment and just order some food."
"Alright you may go back if you want to, i never knew you where one to be afraid of taking risks." Vincent said as he shrugged .
Jade already turned to leave but she turned back after hearing what Vincent said. "And what do you mean by that?" She asked.
"Well you always look at the bright side of things you know, you have alot of positive energy but i guess i was wrong."
"i just don't wanna die, that's it." Jade said.
"Haven't you heard of the saying you only live once? YOLO... you're not gonna die it's going to be fun, just trust me."
Jade still wasn't going to take the risk. "You only die once too and i can't risk it." She said firmly.
"Stop being difficult, if you're not going then it's alright." Vincent wore one of the helmets and started the engine of the Motorbike.
She thought about it again, should she take the risk Or not?."Alright I'll go with you."
She took the other helmet secured it on her head and hopped in behind him.
Jade didn't know if she should hold him by his shoulder, arm or side of his waist? But then Vincent took Jade's hands and let her arms wrap around his waist.
"Ready?"
"I'm ready." She said and then he drove the bike.
The air around her was so electrifying. As the Motorbike moved with speed the dizzying current became stronger, it took her breath away. Her heart danced with fear and excitement, being so close to him felt weird. Like she wanted to be there always, she had never felt this kind of feeling before - in her entire life. She felt free like a bird soaring high.
He parked the Motorbike and led her towards a mini roadside restaurant. She hasn't been there before, surprisingly there was alot of food to choose from and that made her even more hungry than she was before.
"This is so good! It's the best butter chicken I've ever tasted." She dipped another piece of naan into the butter chicken sauce.
They ordered alot of food. Indian, Jamaican, Chinese, Japanese and American variety of foods were on their table.
Vincent took a piece of Californian maki , dipping it in the soy sauce and placed it on her plate. Jade took a bite of the Jamaican pattie , and put it back on his plate.
They were actually sharing their foods with one another. She has never done this with anyone before other than her family.
"I've never eaten so much in my whole life. The food is so delicious. I'm going to get fat if i come here often." She said.
He laughed, then he told her "You have...." He pointed towards the side of her lips.
Jade wiped her lips with the table napkin but he shook his head.
"You're making it worse. Here let me do it." He wiped her lips with the table napkin.
"Thank you."
