Wedding Ceremony
Tegwen and her father stood at the end of the aisle while Tora, Alvilda, and Mary went to sit down. "Are you ready my daughter?" King Trahaearn asked softly as he held onto her hand and smiled at the young girl. "Yes Father." Tegwen replied as she returned the smile. "Everything will be fine my dear. You look beautiful." He stated as they started to walk down the aisle, holding her arm tightly. "I know father, and thank you." Tegwen replied. Trahaearn stopped and held his daughter's face in his hands as he placed a kiss on her forehead. Tegwen smiled as she stepped closer to Ulf who was waiting patiently for her. Tegwen and Ulf faced Sigurd as he stirred the dark liquid before flicking the small brush towards Tegwen and Ulf causing the blood to splatter on their faces.
„Í nafni Óðins alls föður sameinum við þessa tvo fyrir guði. Freyja, Freyr, Thor vinsamlegast taktu fórnir okkar og gerðu þetta hjónaband hamingjusamt, heilbrigt og fyllt kærleika. "(Translation: In the name of Odin, all father, we unite these two before the gods. Freyja, Freyr, Thor please accept our sacrifices and make this marriage happy, healthy and full of love.) Sigurd began. "Nú munum við byrja á því að skiptast á sverðum forfeðranna." (Translation: Now we will begin to exchange the swords of the ancestors.) Sigurd continued. Ulf pulled out his father's sword and waited for the exchange to continue. Prince Brioc then stepped forward and gave his sister their great-grandfather's sword. Tegwen grasped the sword feeling the cool metal against her skin. Ulf and Tegwen then swapped swords, once done Sigurd gave Ulf the rings that both he and his bride had. Ulf gently placed the rings on the tips of the swords.
"Settu nú fingurna á oddana á sverðum hvor annars sem heldur hringunum á sínum stað." (Now place your fingers on the tips of each other's swords that hold the rings in place.) Sigurd instructed. Ulf locked eyes with Tegwen and they both couldn't help but to smile. "Endurtaktu eftir mér, Óðinn, faðir allur, veiti okkur þekkingu fyrir nýja ferð okkar, megi Þór blessa þetta samband með styrk og hugrekki, og Loki neiti okkur aldrei að hlæja." (Translation: Repeat for me, Odin, all father, give us knowledge for our new journey, may Thor bless this relationship with strength and courage, and Loki never refuses to make us laugh.) Sigurd continued, as Tegwen and Ulf repeated the same as they still held onto the swords and rings. Sigurd then turned to Ulf, "Ulf Torstensson sver þú fyrir guði þennan dag að þú viljir taka þessa konu að konu þinni núna og í sölum Valhallar?" (Translation: Ulf Torstensson do you swear to the gods on this day that you want to take this woman as your wife now and into the halls of Valhalla?) he asked.
"Ég sver við Óðinn og Friggu." (Translation: I swear to Odin and Frigga) Ulf responded. Sigurd turned to Tegwen, "Prinsessa Tegwen, sver þú goðin þennan dag að þú viljir taka þennan mann sem eiginmann þinn núna og í sölum Valhallar?" (Translation: Princess Tegwen, do you swear to the Gods this day that you want to take this man as your husband now and in the halls of Valhalla?) he asked once more. "Ég sver við Óðinn og Friggu." (Translation: I swear by Odin and Frigga.) Tegwen replied. "Þið megið taka hringana af sverðum og gefa hver öðrum." (Translation: You can take the rings from swords and give to each other.) Sigurd stated. Ulf and Tegwen took the rings off, Ulf placed the ring onto Tegwen's left hand as Tegwen placed the ring on Ulf's left hand as well. "Nú máttu kyssa brúður þína." (Translation: Now you can kiss your bride.) Sigurd announced with a smirk. Ulf cupped Tegwen's face as he placed his lips gently onto hers.
"Now with the newlyweds, it is time for the Bridal race, the last one to the banquet hall will have to serve the mead to everyone for the whole night. And go!" Sigurd shouted as Ulf pulled Tegwen along with him towards the banquet hall. Tegwen pulled the bottom of her dress up a little to make sure she didn't fall and couldn't help but laugh. Ulf's hand was warm against hers and he was laughing along with her. She thought that his laugh filled her body with joy. They made it to the hall before anyone else, following them was Queen Alaw and Sigurd, then her father along with Tora. "Prince Brioc was last and now let the feast begin." Ulf shouted still holding Tegwen's hand.
