Mia POV :-
My eyes flew open suddenly and I didn't know the reason at first . I picked up my phone and glance at screen it was almost 6:00am and a smile crept on my face . I had gotten used to waking up early now .
It was the weekend and it had been 2 days since we stopped going for a morning jog . I completed my morning ritual and came downstairs to make myself something to eat .
I had barely finished my sandwich and cereal when my phone started ringing , Audrey's name flashed on the screen and I picked it up.
"Hi Mia are you awake ? I hope I didn't bother you . " She said
" Nah I am already up , what about you ? " I inquired
" Ah, I hate to admit it but I kinda wanna go on a run. I thought if you would like to join me ?" She asked .
" Hahahah I definitely would " I chuckled
" Really okay I am coming to your house bubye " she said.
15 min later Audrey was right at my doorstep .
" Well you came earlier than I expected " I smirked at her.
" Well I have kinda gotten used to waking up damn early " she replied.
One we were near the woods we both looked at each other.
" I think we should take a run towards Abagils border ( it's the name of a pack ). I don't want to run into Lucas and beta so early in the morning . It will ruin my whole damn mood " she scoffed.
" The feeling is obviously quite mutual " I winked at her . And we started our run towards Abagils border .
We took short breaks and then carried on .
" I really want to go on a run with you in our wolf forms Mia . It ' ll be so much fun " she said excitedly.
" Well you don't have to wait long enough , my birthday is right on the corner " I replied.
" Yessss, are you nervous?" She asked me .
I had heard the first shift hurts like hell .
" I am nervous but I am more excited than nervous" I said calmly.
" Yeah that's the spirit my girl. It hurts like hell at first but then it's like you have been set free . I tell you to run in you human form and to run on your all fours in wolf form with wind blowing across your fur and the feel of earth beneath your paws it's extraordinary and then suddenly all the pain is worth it " Audrey said smiling.
I couldn't wait to get my wolf .
Saber was excited too . Yeah that's my wolf's name Saber.
" So are you nervous Audrey ? " I asked on our way back .
" About what ? " She asked.
" You are turning 18 soon . There is high chance you'll find your mate ." I asked
" About that , well I would be lying if I say I am not nervous . I am . I used to really worry about it . Like what if he is from some other pack ? . What if I had to leave or something . What if I don't like him?. What if he is some scary ass's dude ?. What if he doesn't like me?" She started laughing
" But now I am gonna go with the flow and see as the events unfold and I will make my decisions at the due moment and worry about it when it happens . Worrying about things that I have no control over is just stupid I guess and me worrying about it isn't gonna change anything . It'll come when it'll come and I 'll worry about it then so for now let's live in the moment shall we and stop worrying about future. " She said.
Infact I agreed with her I never thought about it like that
" But sometimes I just talk big you know Mia . Sometimes things don't go the way I want them to and I am not very good at controlling my reactions and emotions . I get caught up in the heat of moment and ruin everything. So I don't know what will happen." Audrey said staring at the ground
" But I pray to Goddess for love everyday . I pray to Goddess to give me a mate that loves me ".
I started smiling because I remembered something and Audrey asked me "what are you thinking Mia ?"
" Well there is something that my mom says a lot " I said to her .
" What"? She inquired
" She says don't just pray for love my child. Pray that you' ll be ready for love when it introduces it self to you. Pray that you'll recognize it and pray that it lasts" I said
" It's a strange concept " she said casually.
" Or maybe we are too young to understand it " I said thoughtfully
" Yeah maybe" , she replied.
After leaving me at my cottage we said our goodbyes .
" Are you going to fields today Audrey?"
" Yeah , wanna join me" she said.
" Of course , see you at the fields then".
I reached the fields and saw Audrey training with some trainee , as soon as she saw me she waved aggressively .
We trained together for some time and after that we decided to go to cafeteria because our stomachs were growling .
Just as we exited female training grounds and reached the partition we saw Roxanna . She looked at Audrey and smirked . Oh boy !!! , I glanced at Audrey and her went blank , her fists were clenched but thanks Goddess she didn't do anything thing . We resumed our journey towards cafeteria but alas it was interrupted by none other than Audrey's " fav girl" Roxanna .
We both stared at her for a sec when she didn't flinch Audrey finally broke the ice ," is there something you want Roxanna? "
" Nope " Roxanna replied nonchalantly
Audrey grabbed my hand and said , " okay let's go then if there isn't anything important" .
But Roxanna blocked her way again
" Not so fast smarty-pants "
Audrey stopped in her tracks but I nudged her and said , " let's go sis, don't waste your energy on her " and she nodded. Audrey was trying to control her temper but Roxanna was constantly putting her on edge .
We had barely taken two steps when she blocked our way again
" Where is that smart mouth of yours today Audrey , you are awfully silent . Cat got your tongue huh . I think Beta's punishment finally taught you how to respect your seniors " Roxanna said mockingly . A lot of people were now staring at us as Roxanna was quite loud.
" Stop shouting Roxanna , I am too smart to waste my breath dealing with your ignorant ass but you leave me no choice , so you want to talk or argue whatever but sorry to disappoint you I am not in the mood and I don't want to talk to you . I hope I don't see you again " Audrey said walking away.
" Stop right there you loser. I am gonna teach you a lesson right here and right now. I Roxanna Wild challenge you to a duel " Roxanna said huffing . I could hear loud gasps from the crowd of people that have gathered .
" you'll accept it won't it Audrey you are too prideful and egotistical to reject it " Roxanna said laughing hysterically.
Shit!! No matter how good Audrey is , we all know Roxanna is much more experienced and this isn't gonna end well . I looked at Audrey and she had a bored expression on her face and I stifled a laugh .This girl is too good for Roxanna .
" Nah I will pass , I reject your offer .I don't want to waste my time . Please don't judge a book by it's cover , you don't know me . " Audrey said nonchalantly.
Roxanna's hysterical laugh stopped suddenly and she looked at Audrey with gritted teeth ," you are rejecting a challenge"
" Correction I am rejecting your challenge not " a" challenge , I respectfully don't care so I decline .please find some one else to your time on " Audrey said rolling her eyes .
I could see James and Lucas and beta David emerging from the crowd of people .
" What's going on here " Lucas roared.
His eyes landed on Audrey , me and then Roxanna .
There was pin drop silent for a moment.
James rushed to my side , " is everything fine ?" He asked .
" Yeah for now" I replied.
" Roxanna challenged me I declined and now she can't take no for an answer" Audrey said looking at Lucas
" That's all " Lucas said
" That's all " Audrey said in a low voice.
I know she was bothered by their presence . Beta had previously said some mean things and I knew she hadn't forgotten.
" Do you have a problem miss Roxanna? " Lucas said stoically
" Na _ I nah I just challenged___ her but she probably chickened out ahahaha" Roxanna laughed awkwardly .
" Roxanna you shouldn't have challenged Audrey . She's a trainee right now and isn't as much experienced as yourself . She is your junior . You should be setting an example as a good warrior not getting into petty fights with your trainees. Audrey can't accept your challenge right now . I am glad she knows her limits . She is a newbie . Once a person knows their limits there is always room for improvement " beta said with a grim expression.
Roxanna nodded violently looking at Audrey ,
" I guess , I scared you , I challenged you too soon . But I was thinking you would accept it . Ah how wrong I was ." Roxanna walked slowly towards me and Audrey unless she was inches away then she whispered slowly ," I will kick your ass later , you pathetic excuse for a warrior wannabe. A warrior doesn't decline a challenge. " , she whispered so slowly that it was barely audible to me And Audrey .
Audrey's face went blank and Roxanna walked off . The crowd began dispersing .
James looked at me then Audrey and after watching our grim faces he spoke
" Let's eat together shall we I am seeing you guys after so many days . You both have been quite busy lately".
I really wanted Audrey to get her warrior title soon to teach that Roxanna bitch a lesson.
" Audrey let's go " I grabbed her hand because she was lost somewhere .
" Roxanna ,____ I Audrey Miller accept your challenge . We are gonna fight right here right now . I hope you don't have a problem " , Audrey's voice boomed .
Roxanna stopped right in her tracks. Well everybody stopped right in their tracks .
