My expression changed as I zoned out into the waters. Out of the corner of my eye, I see my father turn towards me and notice my expression change, worry and shock spread over his face.
"Maya, Violence is never the answer; trust me." Okami softly speaks; I take a moment to let those words sink in, 'But the world deserves it.'
"But father, they killed mother; why must I just sit around and let them kill more people I love." I couldn't understand why my father wouldn't let me go out and get revenge for my mother's death.
"I understand why you want revenge for your mother; I felt the same pain as you did. But I contained all of that rage; I've dealt with it before, my parents were killed by my friend's father, but he showed me why it was not good to let all of that anger get to the best of you."
I knew about my father's parents dying when he was young, but I didn't think he would be the type of person who would want revenge.
My father gave me a small pat on the back with a warm smile on his face before heading off into the village; I decided it was probably best if I headed back as well.
As soon as I entered the den, I fell asleep immediately. With all of this stuff happening, it had taken a real toll on me.
Suddenly I woke up in a cold sweat; I turned and picked up my phone to check the time; I had slept for a couple of hours.
I look by my side to see Lucas sleeping peacefully; I wish I could be like that. My shuffling must have been a bit much as Lucas slowly looked up at me with sleepy eyes.
"Maya, what are you doing up this early?"
I didn't know exactly how I had gotten up this early, so I wasn't sure how to reply to that.
"I don't exactly know how, but I feel stressed right now; I don't think ill be able to go back to sleep at this point."
My question is soon answered as my eyes slowly turn black; I had forgotten to eat properly, especially after shifting for the first time. Lucas knew exactly what was happening; I rushed out of the den with him trying to stop me but not succeeding.
I managed to escape my village and rush to the city, My senses at this point were going haywire, 'So many beautiful specimens, my how full I'm going to be after this.' a smile grew on my face.
I slowly shifted into my animal form. As I sprinted to a group of people in an isolated area, I came out of the shadows revealing myself to the humans. I slowly backed up the group into a wall.
I grew spikes on my tail as I quickly killed all of them except for the last one, which I pinned to the floor. The male was struggling against my grip, and for some reason, I loved that.
I brought my face closer to the male, my tongue slithering out of my mouth. "You know I love people who fight back, and just for that, I'm going to make your death even better."
I brought my hand up and slowly dragged my claws down his chest; screams came out of the man as I did so. I loved them; it was like music to my ears. After losing patience, I rip open his stomach, bring my hands up his head, and break his neck.
I took the time to eat a little bit, but it wasn't enough to satisfy my hunger. After finishing, I rushed up to one of the buildings, sitting on the edge. I spotted a part of the city where barely any people were seen.
I jumped off of the building as I destroyed all of the cars in my way. Any people that I saw I quickly killed as well.
All I could hear were the screams of people as they slowly died; I loved it.
It soon ended as the police had arrived; guns were pulled out as they tried their best to shoot me down with them.
I slowly bring up my tail, getting ready to kill all of them. Before I could, though, someone had stopped me.
It was a man that looked like he was in his mid-20s; he looked up at me with a pleading look, "stop, I can see you're hurting, I can help you." I just snarled at the man.
"No one can help me; it's too much pain for you humans to handle."
I go to turn away from the man to run away, but he stops me once more.
"Then let me learn to understand your pain; let me in," I speak to the man once more, but something happens to me as I let out a loud screech. I was surrounded by a black mist, my eyes clouding with rage. This was too much power for me.
'Junsuina chi, what's happening?'
'Idk, something is taking control of me; I'm sorry, Maya, I am trying to stay in control.'
This was a complicated situation, and I wanted to know how to help in any way possible.
'Wait, let me help; we can do this together.'
The man grew concerned as he saw what was happening to me. He pulled something out of his pocket, it looked like a horn, and blew it.
It sounded like an animal cry. Right then and there, I hear an animal respond to the message.
I couldn't believe my eyes when my father had arrived, was this the man that my father had mentioned, his friend during his adventure.
My father looked over at me and suddenly grew taller as he changed forms. This was his insane form; Kyoki was his name. A powerful form at most.
My body starts to move on its own as I pounce on top of the orange wolf, stabbing my hand through his body. It was clear that I was still hungry, whether human blood or animal blood.
Spit started to pile out of my mouth as fire slowly started to set my mouth on fire, but before I could spit it out, kyoki stabbed his arm through my chest, creating a large gap. Since I don't have any other forms, I cant heal myself too quickly.
This never kills half animals; I know that it's generally used as a sign to back off.
I grab ahold of my chest, seeing the blood all over my hands and on the ground. I collapsed onto my back as the wound slowly closed up.
I look up to see kyoki standing in front of me, with his head dipped down. It was hard to see his emotions since he didn't have any eyes or eyebrows.
Kyoki then lets out a screech; I could feel the dominance in the voice, I let out a little whine as my ears fall back.
Suddenly the mist surrounding me disappears, and my eyes go back to normal. I wasn't hungry anymore; I was happy that I didn't have to deal with that pain anymore.
I slowly get up as the three of us head off to this man's house. My father must have known him if he trusted him enough to follow him into his house.
After entering the man's house, I sit down on the sofa turning back into my human form.
The man turns around to face me, a smile growing on his face as he introduces himself.
"Well, Hello, my name is Mark, I'm one of Okami's close friends."
