It was early in the morning; the sun was rising as the light kissed the trees. A dim light shone through the leaves and emitted onto the village. The orange wolf was the first to awaken; he remembered what had happened the night before as he was still cuddled up into Mark. Okami had slowly gotten up, careful not to awaken the human that was peacefully sleeping next to him.
The orange wolf decided to take a nice walk to clear his thoughts; he ends up going to the place with a nice view of the lake, the place he ended up discovering a couple of days ago. Okami took a look at the sky before letting out a big sigh.
"Hey, Mom and Dad, I'm back, and I've got some news. The war will be starting later tonight; I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared. I feel confident that I can win this war, though, thanks to everyone who has supported me along the way. I just wanted to let you know that this day will be dedicated to you and our ancestors, and thanks to everyone, I have been given hope that one day our kind can be free."
At this point, the wolf was crying with joy. He didn't care what would happen hours from now; he just focused on all of the great things that were to come.
"Hello Okami's parents, I'm Mark. The first-ever human to work alongside him. I wanted to thank you for having an amazing son who is willing to go through so much pain just for his kind's freedom. He has given so much hope to not only me but to all of the other animals he has saved from their homes."
Okami snapped his head in Mark's direction and smiled; he had hoped he didn't awaken the male since the two severely needed sleep, especially if the war was taking place later tonight.
Mark could feel that the animal was growing anxious for this war; why wouldn't he be? Wars are known to be very deadly.
The male brings his arm up to give the animal soft rubs on his back, trying to calm Okami's anxiety.
"Yeah, I understand how you're feeling, Okami. These past days have been rough, especially the war coming up in only a few hours, but I believe we can do this, Okay? You have trained all of us and proved that we could become better versions of ourselves, plus you have the upper hand since you know how to control all three of your forms. No other animal in history has ever known to be able to accomplish that."
Okami gives the male a big smile; he was happy about making such a significant impact on others.
The orange wolf had wanted to impact the hearts of not only his kind but the Humankind as well, for, after this war, there will be no more of this hatred between his kind and the humans any longer.
"Hey, Okami, we need you to head back to the village; the others were hoping you could give them a small little speech to help them gain confidence in this upcoming war. Everyone is as nervous as you are."
Both males turn around to spot Monster leaning against one of the trees with his arms crossed. Okami gave a big sigh; it was evident that he didn't have one prepared before the war since the initial plan was only to give the humans a speech after the war.
The orange wolf complied; either way, he had to set a good example for his people; not only that, he had to make sure that there was enough hope. They would surely lose if no one had the hope of something good coming out of it when fighting.
Both males stood up before making their way back to the village with Monster; upon arriving, he could see every one of his friends and all of the other animals he had saved.
After seeing that the leader was there, they all stopped talking as Okami made his way to everyone. The orange wolf took slow deep breaths in and out; he didn't want to have a panic attack in front of everyone even though there was a high chance that they would understand.
"Hello everyone, as you all know, the war is taking place just hours from now, it will be taking place in the large field that separates our two species. I know that there may be losses today, but none of them will be in vain. I need everyone to be brave and help me prove to the other humans that we are superior. Each of you here has shown that you guys are capable of winning this war. Let this be a day dedicated to all of our ancestors wh have proved to us that it is possible to gain our freedom if we just try our hardest; this day will end greatly for our Species; Are all of you ready to fight alongside me in this war."
After the orange wolf was done giving his speech, all the animals got down on all fours and started to howl. Okami had never witnessed anything like this before, so what did all of this mean.
Mark walked up to the orange wolf and put his hand on his shoulder, " Okami, they're all howling at you; you that means that they are praising you. They have given their full trust in you. Don't fail them now; they need you just like you had needed me at some point in the past."
The orange wolf was on the verge of tears; such a large amount of wolves had never praised him like this. He had to win this war, not only for his species but for his parents as well.
Okami had dispersed from the group of wolves; something wasn't right. The rest of the wolves paid no mind to it as they went to practice some more.
Mark had caught on, though, knowing something had happened to the wolf as he followed Okami the rest of the way back to their home.
Upon entering, Mark notices the orange wolf huddled up into the corner with his head in his hands.
"Hey, Okami, Are you okay? What's wrong? I can help you; take your time."
The orange wolf slowly looked up at the worried male before shaking his head to the side, hinting to Mark that he was hurting.
"There's a new voice in my head. It hasn't introduced itself yet, but he said that I was proven worthy of having him apart of me. Do you think that this could be that ancient form?" Okami's voice was shaky but not to the point where Mark couldn't understand what he was saying.
Mark takes a second to think about what Okami had just told him. Was it possible to have a third form? If so, this form has never been recorded in history. That's when the male shoots up, remembering the name that they had called these ancient forms from all the information they were able to gather. Okami had obtained the "Tyrant form,"
the strongest species of animals ever to live; only another tyrant could kill the form. But with Okami having all of the abilities, he wouldn't be able to be killed by any species under him.
"In your kinds recorded species, there is an ancient form called the 'tyrant form; it is said that if you have the other two forms and can control them without any issues. They would gain this form; only of the same form has a small chance of killing another. If you have a tyrant form, then your tyrant is impossible to kill since you have an infinite amount of strength and abilities."
Mark had explained to the shivering orange wolf, Okami understood that this was just a process of the form developing, as he had the same experience when he had first received Mamoru.
Okami eventually calmed down as he exited the cave; he made his way to the training area to see that everyone was practicing for the war.
One particular group caught the wolf's gaze, though; there was a group of teenage wolves who were trying to learn how to use their wings for the first time.
The orange wolf had a smile on his face as he walked over to the group of teenage wolves, Making it to the group, which caught their attention right away; he gives them a heartwarming smile.
"It seems that you are having a tough time using your wings, don't worry, I can help you with that. I was known to be the best flyer in my village when I was just your age."
All of the animals' eyes glow with happiness as they nod their heads up and down; it was evident that they have always wanted to learn how to fly.
"Really! You would do that for us!" Okami gives the teenage wolves a simple nod as he lets his wings out.
The orange wolf took the wolves through the basic steps of learning to use their wings, there was more to it than the teenage wolves had thought, but they didn't hesitate to listen to what the wolf had to say,
Not too long after, there was a rumble that had felt like it was from miles away. Okami lets out a sigh; knowing what was happening, it was evident that Archen didn't want to wait any longer; the sun was setting, but it was yet to be the original time they had planned this war to begin.
"I didn't think it would be this soon, but the time has come. The war will begin; if we don't get to the battle zone now, they will come and force us out of this village by destroying it."
Everyone was shocked by the sudden news, but they complied and got everything they needed for the war.
Once everyone got the things they needed, everyone's wings came out as they all flew to the battle zone; it had been a while since Okami had been in this field. It's not like any good memories were made here anyways.
Upon arriving, the orange wolf could see about a dozen army forces and a lot of the equipment that they had with them. Okami wasn't scared or anything; it not like their weapons could kill him.
The orange wolf sighed as he made his way up to Archen, who had been waiting there for what seemed like a while.
"I see that you have gotten your pathetic little army ready, Okami. But it will be no use; my army will no doubt prove that your kind should just fall and become inferior to us humans." the male gives Okami a wide smirk as a sudden bomb is launched into the air, landing right next to Okami. The bomb knocks the orange wolf to the ground, he wasn't hurt or anything, but it did surprise him.
The war has begun
