Belphegor quickly opened his eyes, the moment thunder cracked.
He wanted to go back to sleep, but the sound was soon followed by several knocks.
The sleepy demon opened his door, and distaste traveled across his face,
The moment he realized, who was in front of him,
Eye bleeding, and in a bit of pain.
"Don't tell me...while we're all dying out there...
You're...you're just sleeping,"
Leviathan said in between breaths, still could barely believe it.
Belphegor passed by him, stretching his arms and looking around,
"This war will be a bit long, so I need some sleep to stand my ground."
"The actual-
We are exhausted and you're barely doing anything!
Your abilities are strong enough to kill half their men!"
"If you're exhausted, sleep then,
And besides, I don't really care."
Leviathan froze the moment he heard that,
Just by it, what does he meant?
"Have you given up Belphegor?
Don't tell me you won't help at all!"
"Are you an idiot?
Do you think Lucifer would let me live if I just do nothing?
I dispersed nightmares all across the palace,
So long as their owners are alive,
The nightmares will be extra hard to die.
Tsk, and also, please don't be too close to my ears,
Everything pisses me off, especially the way you speak."
The demon grumpily walks away from Leviathan,
Not even asking what happened to his eye.
The demon of envy felt a bit hurt,
Especially when he remembered what happened earlier on.
Although he managed to bring Mammon to be fixed,
Azazel told him candidly that they were way too busy.
And since his wounds are not too fatal than the others,
He wasn't really a priority, despite his rank as a demon.
He was told to wait and hold it a bit longer,
And tasked to find the whereabouts of Belphegor.
The recollection made Leviathan's face turned red,
Angry that no one truly cared.
He enters Belphegor's room and grabs a cloth,
Covering his wound that his enemies brought.
He then went back to Azazel,
Who had finished curing Mammon well.
Mammon, who had just woken up,
Was surprised to see himself with extra arms.
They were adorned with black glittery gloves,
That when removed, will be sure to cause harm.
He wondered how it was made,
Until he saw four dead maids.
"Take care of yourself this time, Lord Mammon,
Four maids had lost their lives putting those gloves on."
Azazel said, as he tries to strangle one woman,
Whom despite knowing her strength, tried to fight back all she can.
"Tsk, you love Nemue too much, huh?"
Mammon said, as he saw the already prepared dress.
It was Nemue's clothes, and even a fool could guess,
Azazel could have given his new creation a new identity, but he gives them Nemue's, nonetheless.
Azazel does not answer, and instead only smiles,
The moment he felt the woman, loosen her grasp.
She limps in his arms, and it was time,
Azazel began opening her body, and performing his tasks.
Leviathan watched in disgust,
As Azazel rips a part of her hands.
Azazel quickly looks at the newcomer,
"I thought you were going to fix my eye first."
Azazel laughs lightly,
And in a fit of embarrassment, walked to him quickly.
"I thought you were still with Belphegor, following Lucifer's orders,
But now that you're here, I'll be sure to handle you first."
Azazel grabs a chair and puts it near him,
"Sit still, you'll soon be examined."
Leviathan sits on the chair proudly,
As the black eyed demon grabs his tools.
Soon, the pain went away,
And Leviathan could see clearly,
his eyes no longer blurred with red.
Azazel's face then quickly turned to the woman's corpse,
And he quickly tried to open her more.
Soon, the room was filled with an unbearable stink,
That even Leviathan and Mammon, decided to leave.
The busy demon did not looked at them once,
And as the two walk further, all they could think was that he went mad.
"Why can't he just admit he was the one who killed her in the first place?
Tsk, if we didn't need him, he'd long be dead."
Leviathan remarked as he wasn't sure if he should pity or laugh at the demon,
"He wanted to climb up the ranks, but made a pitiful mistake of killing the one he loves.
What a sad, pitiful man."
Mammon did not speak back as he knew how it felt,
Losing someone you love dearly, and regretting it everyday.
He looks at Leviathan, but he knew his eyes were not truly happy,
He was still envious, and a bit angry.
Perhaps...he was angry because Azazel threw away love so carelessly,
Something which, not all demons could really enjoy for their boring eternity.
Mammon sighed and moved faster,
"Even when they're gone, they're still a weakness, a haunted memory of after.
He truly is...such a pitiful loser."
.
.
.
Meanwhile, Azazel was at the operating room,
Eyes blurred with something he always loathe,
And just as when he thought such weakness had died,
He still, somehow, managed to cry.
"Did I made a mistake?"
He asked himself again,
But even if he did knew the answer,
It wouldn't fix his problem.
He stops for a moment,
Looking at the whole mess.
No matter how perfect,
They wouldn't be Nemue.
"If I wait a little sooner,
Would I finally climb up the ranks?
Why..Why?!! Why can't Beelzebub just die!"
In a fit of rage,
He threw his empty vial away,
The glass cracked rather loudly,
But all he could hear was his heart beating quickly.
Did he really made a stupid decision?
It couldn't be, he shouldn't have such emotions.
"No...I don't make mistakes,
Everything happens for some reason,
I did not commit anything wrong,
I...I can still answer this question."
He then saw the colorful samples on his table,
Extracted from all of his powerful creations.
An idea suddenly crept on his mind,
And realizing its possibility, he smiled.
"If I removed my emotions, I will be God.
Experimenting on myself may be risky, but with the possibilities, I'll be glad!
I no longer have to think about anything that can bring me down,
I will finally defeat everyone, I just need to work now."
He quickly grabs his other materials and quickly started the process,
Mixing a lot of DNA, and seeing how it would react here and there.
No matter how much his eyes would droop,
He never stopped, not until he finish his work.
.
.
.
He could hear frustrated murmurs when he was near his door,
Eligorr sighs, and it was no wonder,
Azazel may be working himself on another project,
But when he opened the door, he did not expect it would be on himself.
Azazel's veins were popping off,
And his pale skin, now looked burnt.
He must have mixed too much, but there's no turning back,
He just kept going, no matter the risks of backlash.
He vomitted blood, and felt incredible diziness,
He felt extreme, extruciating pain.
He felt like dying, but at the same time, he felt like he was being rejected by Death,
He tried to open up his eyes, still persistent his actions were not to fruit regret.
His vision seemed blurry,
But his hearing, was scarily strong,
His steps were a bit heavy,
But his arms, felt a bit long.
Soon, his body began to adjust,
And even if he's still not used to it,
Felt excited for a match.
He looks at Eligorr proudly,
Who only shows concern,
But no matter the grotesque image he now wears,
All that matters to him was the power he've possessed.
He looks at the mirror,
No longer insecure.
Proud to look like a monster,
So long as he could defeat Lucifer.
He broke the mask he was used to wearing,
Revealing an image so pitiful yet terrifying.
His deluded fantasies are now becoming real,
He could feel his incredible strength, overflowing in him.
"How will the others recognize you, My Lord?"
Eligorr asked again, this time more concerned.
Azazel looks at him, and only smirks,
"You wear my mask for me, I no longer want to return."
"But...what if they find out?"
"Are you telling me I should be afraid of them?"
Eligorr pursed his lips,
Not wanting to speak again.
When the silence felt too long,
Eligorr bowed his head and admitted he was wrong.
Azazel loved the fear he inflicted on him so much,
That he pretended to be angry just so he could continue to watch.
Shivers traveled across Eligorr's spine,
But this Azazel felt different, too cruel in heart and mind.
He tried to look at his Master's eye,
But saw not a trace of soul..left behind.
"I won't let them use me anymore,
I have waited far too long.
If Lucifer does not want to give me a high position,
I'll grab it from him, it's the only answer I could think of.
So, for the meantime, let them kill each other,
And when they least expect it, I will make my grand entrance,
For now, let them hope they'll have their happily ever afters,
And be unprepared, for the real nuisance."
Eligorr nodded, as his only response.
