Lucifer's face was painted with confusion.
He felt distraught, angered, that one dared not fall to his admission,
However, what was new? It had always been his life.
Deception, tricks, and those awful lies.
He felt drained all of a moment,
Just desperately wanting to be followed and praised.
No dirty men wanting to steal the spotlight,
No poisoned drinks and cheating wives.
That is until, a hand laid still on his shoulder,
Which made him turned around, although his gaze was unsure.
"What do you want me to do? Are your conclusions true?
Or are you the one playing tricks on me?
To get what you want?
Isn't that what traitors always do?"
Satan was taken aback.
Sure he hated Lucifer a lot but,
Wow, is that all he ever was?
Was he really not someone trustworthy...
well, in fact...
maybe he isn't.
After all, he's the Lord of lies and desception.
There isn't really much one could question.
But this, this was different, he thinks.
Lucifer should have trusted him more,
But..he felt himself freezing in guilt.
It'd be a lie if he said he haven't dreamed of being the one to rule the world than Lucifer,
After all in his mind, he is wayyy able.
And although Satan just approached this demon to propose a scheme that could benefit him,
Being called a traitor still hurts considering all they've been.
"I hate you. Sometimes. But, I will never...do that to you,"
Satan said, but even he, was unsure.
Just some days ago his anger for him was unmeasurable,
And now, for some odd way, he just feel pity and remorseful.
Was Lucifer really that manipulative?
Charming?
If not, why is he carrying this guilt?
Was it because he gave him life?
Was it because...he knew deep inside,
He owes him?
Lucifer still looked hurt.
Exhaustion present in his yellow eyes,
The once motivated angel filled with excitement to rule the world,
Slowly rotting, fading,
Or perhaps it long time died.
Lucifer only sighs.
"I shouldn't be surprised.
And now that you've mentioned it,
If not you, who?
What else do you plan to do?
I don't want to take part in it for now,
I'm too bothered.
I need you to take care of it,
Figure it somehow.
Punish the traitor, take all he loves.
I don't care what you do,
But make sure he gets more than enough."
Satan was surprised by the quick permit,
That he couldn't help but grin.
While seeing Lucifer in such a depressed state is something..
It brought him joy that he could do anything.
He bows once agaid, as Lucifer only looks away,
Gripping the glass of wine and keeping his gaze somewhere.
The red-eyed demon, although hesitant to leave his Master at that state had more to do,
So even if Lucifer was expecting his advices,
He left, much to Lucifer's disappointment.
The demon only sat on his bed.
Upset that even if he had slaves that seemed countless,
He still feels so alone and unappreciated.
He felt no different,
To that of a slave.
Why is it, that he can't enjoy whatever's presented on his plate?
...
Sellena watched slowly as another day rise.
Just one more...and they can finally reunite.
But her heart sank the moment she realized,
She have been captured simply by her heart.
Fearing that Asmodeus will hinder her plans,
She decided to push him out of his mind,
However those thoughts were disrupted by a knock,
Which quickly was answered by the fake Haborym, as Sellena again hides.
This time however, Satan refused to play kind.
He puts his snakes crawling, looking for proofs of lies.
However, Haborym's replica fooled even Satan's serpents,
But it did not hid, Sellena's distinct smell.
"You're very bad at hiding things, Haborym,
Why didn't you told your Master?
I've been waiting, what do you think?"
The fake simply bowed and apologized in submission,
But was quick to cover up for his action.
Like the real Haborym, he answered in a calm tone,
"It is to the request, of the fifth Lord."
Satan only kept his gaze on the man,
Wondering if what he tells is a lie or not.
But because of his dull eyes, Satan could not tell,
So he simply skipped him, and walked towards Sellena,
filled with faint bruises, and a thinner face.
"Asmodeus would not be happy seeing you like this,"
Sellena sure was surprised he wasn't mad and pissed.
He looked so...kind, and that was a bad sign,
She was well aware, he'd manipulate her, after some time.
155 only looked at her, afraid to get punished again,
And so even if she was uncertain,
Unsure of what could happen to Sellena,
She gave a look begging for mercy,
Encouraging her to stick to the plan.
And so, Sellena did not refused,
And just went with the flow.
Whatever Satan had in mind that time,
She shouldn't dare hesitate and just go.
Resisting will make Satan suspect the group more,
Possibly blowing off their cover.
The fake Haborym slightly becomes overprotective when Satan grips Sellena's arm,
But the replica knew he could only do half to harm.
He stays aside, but wonders what Asmodeus may feel,
The moment Satan looks at them,
and quickly leaves.
"Your caretaking of Asmo's precious gem is over,
From now on, she's not going to associate herself with slaves and those lower."
(I'm afraid she made an alliance, this woman's words can twist minds and steal hearts like a sickening robber.)
Satan acted all sweet and worried the moment they weighed her,
But Sellena knew better.
She was aware the whole time,
Never letting her guard down.
And she was doing quite fine,
Until Satan dropped the bomb.
"Do you love to stay with Asmodeus, forever?"
The demon of desception asked, as he scoots closer.
Sellena's eyes were fixed on Satan's, and although she haven't seen him in a while,
She knew she loves him still,
and so she almost cried.
She looked down, back at her food, as she tried to chew harder,
Now, Satan's answer was confirmed, even only by her little actions.
Sellena's weakness was still there.
And so, he presented her a drink.
Sellena looks at it warily,
But it looked like ordinary water,
But doesn't mean something in it is not mixed.
"What is it?" Sellena asked, suspicious.
"Since you're Asmo's wife, I can't lie to you,
That is the drink that will make you immortal,
Don't look at me with those eyes, Sellena dear,
Asmodeus would have given that to you,
since he's immortal too."
Sellena felt shocked.
And it no way could properly react.
She wondered if it was part of Haborym's plan,
To capture their trust.
But these are all disadvantages thrown at her,
Would that mean that she'll just watch all she love,
die?
Asmodeus...hah, how could she have missed that?
She was so happy with him, she forgot he's a demon whose age is as old as time.
She looked at Satan again, hesitant.
"Asmodeus can't become a mortal for you, dear,
You're going to adjust for him, isn't it clear?
If you love the demon that kept way better care of you than most of your humans,
Then what's stopping you from leaving that pathetic life behind?
After all, what's left with you outside, anyways?
In here, you can live lavishly, all your needs prepared.
Unless...you want to get out of here?
I doubt you're dumb to even think of escape..."
His voice was as chilly as ice.
As Sellena still couldn't decide.
If she refuses, she will be caught.
If she takes it, she likely gave up.
It equalled to her dropping her knees to the demons,
Being a traitor.
Choosing immortality than the prophecy.
Choosing her selfish desire to stay young for him.
Sellena could only cry as she asks herself time and time again,
What would be right,
When both choices give pain?
