He had been alive since the time the archangels were born,
A timid young angel, with a heart of gold.
He witnessed the slow descent of young Lucifer,
Wondered why, he thinks he's much better.
He watched still, how his horns grew out of his head,
As he falls from the heaven, he once loved and protect.
Young Lucifer, left him wondering so much,
Just what is he fighting for? What does he truly want?
Samael remembered a conversation from long ago,
Lucifer trying to persuade him of what to do.
"What more purpose do you have than praise the Lord?
Do something more! This isn't why you're born!"
He felt angry that time, but thought about it for a while,
Though he wanted to save Lucifer, he was already far gone.
Drowned in his beliefs, drowned in his pride,
As Samael could only wonder, a thousand why's.
"I will show you why we're better than humans!"
Lucifer said, as they crossed their eyes.
"And you'll understand why we aren't to protect and respect them,
Because, we can be gods ourselves."
He hated Lucifer for such thinking,
Thought that God knows what He's doing,
He never doubt God had plans from the beginning,
But Lucifer was so childish, he even blamed God, for the way he is acting.
Samael had full faith that humans are beings of kindness,
Until, Eve fell to tempation, and doomed the human race.
He saw how the humans weren't that really pure,
Beheld their true natures, such monsters with little cure.
He believed he have more purpose, than simply watch around,
So he flew towards the earth, to reap those worthy and those whose bound-
Bound to hell, bound to fall,
He was choosing, the best people of all.
He genuinely thought that what he's doing is good,
But the angels told him of his arrogance, which he denied just as too.
He believed he is destined, that it was God's plan,
His side is in the light, but he dirtied his hands.
Samael, the new bringer of light,
But also, the bringer of dark.
His name rings fear to whoever hears it,
But he knew he's an angel, in disguise of a Devil.
He doesn't care less of what others think of him,
But now he realized, what the angels truly mean.
The devils cause chaos because they like to,
It's not the same as what he planned to do.
He promised himself to finish what he had left,
To no longer see Lucifer as a creature, whose freedom was theft,
He chose this path, he caused the suffering,
In his bloodied hands, there's no room for much meaning.
He cannot blame the angels for feeling that way,
For he himself, isn't safe from the taint.
He looked around him, and saw the world was no longer paradise,
A monochromatic scene, mixed with the scent of demise.
He felt a wave of sadness circulate through his body,
Matched with the strong cloud of regret and longing.
Is he truly no different from Lucifer and his allies?
Is he just like them? Is his decision not that wise?
"Without challenges, life would be meaningless...
But this...it's far from what I want.
There's no room for kindness in the face of war,
People would only think of themselves,
He had gone too far."
If the angels had their hearts and ears closed,
Maybe he can plead for the demons, to realize all he've lost.
He opened his wings, and flew towards their chamber,
But then again, Lucifer greeted him with anger.
"Who do you think you are?
And who do you think I am?
I am the New King of this world,
I don't care if the world be damned.
I get to decide who lives and who dies,
I get to decide what I deem as paradise.
You are the creature I hate the most, Samael.
You deny still, that with us, you fell.
You think you can redeem yourself?
Well, to be frank, your name won't change meaning itself.
You will always be that angel of chaos,
So just accept it, you lost.
You will never be accepted in hell and heaven,
You will crumble as the world becomes ashened.
Your existence will be forgotten,
That's what you get, from choosing none,
Don't complain."
"Is there no bit of love, left in you, Lucifer?
Look at the decisions you've made so far, all ended in disaster?
You are not ruling a world, you're ruling a wasteland,
You are no God, because of your selfish wants."
"Selfish? Selfish wants? And you dare say God in front of my face?
Who created all of this? And had our freedom robbed away?
Where all we had to do up there, is sing and praise His name.
Hahah, if you're still in love with that so called All-loving God,
Forget it, there's no way I'd change my mind.
He told me I was his beloved child,
But look how He've forsakened me,
Watched me crumble inside."
"You are the one who have forsakened Him first,
He loves you, but you kept getting worst.
Imagine the hurt He have felt when you fell,
You are His child, he knows you the best.
But when He no longer sees improvement and change,
Who dare would not feel anger and rage?
You are an angel, once beautiful and majestic,
Now look at you now, a blood-thirsty lunatic."
"Lunatic??? Lunatic??? Are you really trying your luck?"
"Would a King that is easily affected by words be better than God above?
Look at you, impatient, childish and worthless,
You need to look around you, Lucifer,
See how much you've changed."
"You don't tell me what to do, Samael?
Are you doing this? So He can notice your little help?
Whatever you do, you cannot change what has already happened,
You have your own horns,
You can never be the angel once loved and wanted."
"Do you really think I'm doing this for myself? Lucifer?
I'm doing this for love, for the world, and its people,
Their deaths, don't they haunt you while you sleep?"
"Why would they? I care about them the least."
"Lucifer! I am losing my patience!
Refrain from this nonsential violence!
Once you rule the world, I assure you, you won't be satisfied,
You will fall again, because of that pride."
"Fall, fall, fall, I already did, you moron!
Now, the good thing about starting from the bottom,
Is that your only direction is up,"
"You have truly lost your mind,
You have truly gone blind.
If you have no desire to apologize to God,
I will say my last farewell,
For you'd crumble like ash."
"Blah, blah, blah, I'm scared, oh my.
But wait...I didn't crumble as you've said, didn't I?
Love makes your God different from me,
I am stronger, wiser, than He will ever be."
"You are created, Lucifer, how can you say that?"
"Nah, I'm just testing if you'd attack when you're mad,"
Lucifer continued to laugh.
As Samael had just had enough of that.
"Do you think I'm playing games?
Do you think I came here because of a little talk?
Lucifer, this isn't just a little chat!
We're talking about the fate of the world!"
"Tsk, and? As I've told you this is how I wanted things be,
So if you excuse me,
I have weapons to create and finalize,
So...bye-bye, hope your Father deems you nice."
"Don't mock our Creator, you little brat!"
"Whatever, you're just jealous a lot!
Jealous that no matter what, you will never be his favorite,
You will just be a pawn. Small and insignificant."
Lucifer turned around, but felt warm hands stop him from his tracks,
"You insolent Devil, you take that back."
"Insolent? I'm the first of my kind to oppose the King, Himself,
I am the one who created chaos and this violence,
Don't you think? You should give me a little credit?
I am strong enough for God to shield the humans from,
See? How strong, great and threatening I've become."
"You are the small and insignificant one,
No matter what you do, or what you plan,
You will always be a spec of God's power,
Your battle won't be won.
The only reason you're alive is because He's planning a more devastating end for you,
I tried talking, but failed getting any sense in you.
Lucifer, you are not a King but a servant of your sin,
You are still insolent, if you think you can win."
"You're insolent if you think I don't stand a chance,
I've had more souls to take in hell, than God to His new paradise.
I bring more fear than God will ever will,
So tell me, why I won't win?"
"Because you're a child seeking for attention and praise,
While God is the one who created all the things you now waste,
One day, you'd realize how truly pitiful you are,
Once you've realized, your only fate is to fall."
