It was a cold and cruel night for the remaining humans,
However, Lucifer had many unreasonable demands.
He fed them well, only to make them work afterwards,
They were punished brutally, if they show any signs that they're tired.
What's more terrifying was that he had faceless monsters guard them as they work,
Which had big bat-like ears, that can hear even the softest curse.
None dared complain, expecting the worse...
and continued the mining, the melting, and more.
They had no hope left in them,
they felt robbed, like their whole lives have already been taken.
Some used to be rich, some were poor all their lives, but here they are equal,
For now,
They work the same task, and eat the same rice.
It felt too surreal seeing the legendary creatures come to life,
Those goblins and monsters that was used to be told by grandmas, only at night.
They were here, even more hideous that what most expect,
none of them were truly exact, but all were grotesque.
The labor was unevenly paid,
Only a small portion of food, and 4 hours of sleep they gave,
After so, Lucifer can't care any less if they die,
nor who would remain and survive.
Humans were just extras to him anyways,
like mice or hamsters, that he can toy and play, The devil doesn't care, the devil does not love, the devil does not give, what he already have.
Songs played in the background, a haunting yet mesmerizing tune,
They tried to not mind them,
but they hear them still till their ears bled.
It was a song meant to keep them awake,
but some screamed in paranoia, they cant endure to take,
Some severed their own ears, some jumped off a cliff,
but all of them wished, they weren't really there.
Mammon even told him his methods were false, Since the poor feeble humans were becoming scarce,
But Lucifer told him, that he was hitting two birds with one stone,
He was ridding of the humas, while getting his weapons to grow.
Mammon knew there's no such thing as talking him out of his delusions,
So he pretended to agree, though he felt no satisfaction.
The humans were treated too poorly, to do good in an ambitious mission,
Even he understands, although he's the greedy Mammon.
The earth was continued to be dug,
As Lucifer continued watch above,
Belphegor could barely sleep at night,
since the noise, kept howling, making his eye open wide.
He wanted to complain and tell them he's sleeping,
but it's the prideful prince, that they are talking, Besides, he feels too lazy to move an inch,
he just kept still, hoping his sleepiness return after a few blinks.
But, oh boy was he so wrong,
It felt like eternity, like an endless song,
Feeling irritated, he put the pillows on his ears, Hoping miraculously, the noise would disappear.
Leviathan was in his room,
Looking at the crescent moon,
counting the days his child would be delivered, barely hearing the noise, to him they were whispers.
He was too deep into the wonders of the future, That he had not noticed the air which became slightly colder.
He looks at the sky, but his thoughts were of her,
"Oh Bella, can't we really be together?"
He feels so envious that even Sellena had grown to love Asmodeus,
who was no better to him, though not as devious,
And that sole thought, was enough to make Leviathan furious.
His back hurted a little, having sat like that for too long,
He sighed, as deep inside, was an unfading mourn.
Leviathan wondered, just when things would work better for him?
He had nothing to boast, as none of his pride remained.
The chilling air continued to enter his room,
But what does he look at? But the flower which managed to bloom-
In his window, despite him not noticing it at all,
It managed to give fragrance, while its old petals fall.
It managed to survive, but it continued to wilt,
The circle of life, one can never defeat.
No matter how much he wanted to keep something in place,
Life and fate, would eat it away.
He felt even more sadder, and even more envious,
Like his heart was frozen deep and cold.
He reached his hand, into the sky,
Wondering if, life was a truth or a lie.
Was it more beautiful if he just simply closed his eyes?
Would it be easier if he had just died?
A countless lifespan all felt meaningless,
What does he have? Nothing felt worth it.
Suddenly he hears a knock on his door,
He opened it up, only to see Belphegor.
"Oi, I'm too lazy to go down there and tell Lucifer to give me some eye-shut,
Please tell him to keep quiet, perhaps you can do that?"
Ah, yes...his name is only mentioned once or twice,
If he's needed, but it's better right?
At least he's called? But why does he feel insulted?
Instead, he faked a smile, "Is that all, my friend?"
Belphegor thought hard, but he's too sleepy to think,
"Just check up on Beel, if he still wants to eat,
Bring him food too, I guess? If you're not too busy,
Again, I'm so drowsy now, so sorry..."
"Hah, you sleep a lot and you're still tired,
Alright, I'd do so, good night, and stop the blabber,
You look bad enough, I guess Lucifer was being too loud,
I'd go down, and grab some snacks if the chances allow."
Belphegor only smiles, a bit grateful,
As he went to bed, a bit of hopeful.
Leviathan went to Lucifer,
It was a long walk, perhaps that's why he's called by Belphegor.
"Haborym...why did your room had to be the deepest one?
Tsk, and you rarely answer mine..."
He reaches the place where he saw Haborym first,
Lucifer was there too, but too far across.
The mining place was huge and hot,
Leviathan missed to cold temp of the night.
Haborym greeted his other master with delight,
"If you did call, I apologize, we were occupied."
"It's alright, maybe it's Belphegor who kept summoning you,
But I only did, like two...
Anyways, I ask you to tell the Prince of Darkness, if he could continue it tomorrow,
Belphegor wanted to sleep, and this is kinda slow.
If this continues, Belphegor may extract our nightmares and play that same revenge he did last ten years,
It was a childish revenge, but still...
I don't want my room infested with monsters,
I don't want to clean up what's left of it after.
Besides, I'm sure he's not the only one complaining,
Even Beelzebub felt distracted, and lost appetite eating.
The noise, and the cries are howling louder every night,
Maybe they could take a break, and continue it tomorrow, when the sun is bright."
Haborym nodded, but had his fear painted in his face,
"But Lord Lucifer wanted, not to waste a day."
"What?? Tsk, does he not know we need rest as well?
We're no longer full spirits, we're not like angels, okay?
Tell him that he's being unreasonable! Not like the first time he hadn't been!
Tell him he's too much! This is too bad! Even for his sin!"
"I...I'm really sorry, it's just that he...he really wanted not to waste a day,
He was preparing tirelessly, and wanted everything his way,
If I do interfere, I may get in trouble or punished,
I don't want to face his wrath, and suddenly vanish."
"Tsk, that's why his head is getting bigger!
None of you dare stand up against that monster!
He's not as perfect as he thinks he is!
He cares only about himself, and do as he please!"
Leviathan asked the huge monster to bend over,
"Carry me to Lord Lucifer,"
And he did, without much question,
Soon enough, he reached the destination.
It was distracting, as he goes to the center,
The noise was overpowering, dividing his attention.
He sighed and looked around, and saw none at all were almost standing,
Than let them rest, they recieved painful beatings.
"Lucifer...you're just killing them slowly!
I thought you had them work all this evening!"
"Calm down, it's not like they're one of our own,"
"Still, you can't do this job alone.
You need manpower, but how can they do labor?
When you're killing them, with whips and irons?"
"It's not like they have much choice,
They're still not finished-" "But can you hear their voice?
Even their screams look terribly exhausted,
Lucifer, let them rest, so they can function the way you wanted!
Belphegor is upset, he wanted to sleep,
Beelzebub is distracted, he could barely eat,
Even I, am deeply disturbed by the sounds of their pleas,
They're too many, in one go to kill."
"Ah, boring! Fine! Let them rest or something,
However, it's not like they haven't had worse or anything.
They're humans, they're made for suffering,
I also love it, when they cry and keep begging.
Look, none of them even considered praying,
Those souls, they are mine, can't you see we're winning?"
"Okay, okay, I get you're bored and all,
But please...let us sleep, especially Belphegor.
You do remember when he's pissed off, right?
I don't care if you want to give the humans a lesson or for them to experience the ruthless cup of night,
But...doing this til it's done is not at all right,"
"Fine, fine, stop talking too close to my ears, I'd stop for the night..."
Leviathan felt relieved, but as he was to go,
A little kid lost balance, and was about to fall.
