"The beautiful garden of Eden sure are made for those lucky humans,"
Young Michael says, pointing at a distance.
Uriel smiles and remarks it was beautiful,
But to Michael's eyes, compared to his smile they weren't even half full.
"Hey, Shamayim(Heaven),"
"Yes, Sir Michael?"
"Thank you,"
"For what do you thank me to?"
"For keeping me company, and taking care of me,"
"Sir Michael, don't say such words I find quite silly,"
"I'm being honest, really,
You're the best friend I could ever ask for,
Even when eras should stretch infinity,"
Uriel turned bashful as he looks at the sky,
"I hope we simply don't die,
I hope we stay like this, in this peaceful quiet,
Where happiness and lullabies, is all that could happen,"
Michael picked a flower and held it, near Uriel's face,
"I hope unlike this flower, we won't turn to waste,
I hope we remain comrades, as long as the life of this world,
Even when all things fade, our friendship simply won't,"
Uriel nods as Michael hands the flower,
"I hope we'd stay like this forever,
I hope even when our responsibilities double,
We still have fun, I just hope the humans won't speak trouble."
Michael smiles, and Uriel could not help but do the same,
His smile was the purest, as giving as rain,
He looks at the garden of eden with admiration,
Hoping that the humans won't do sinful things of opposition.
...
"What happened?"
What went wrong?
What did we do to deserve this?
What did he do to deserve this?"
...
(Michael's POV)
Yells, screams, bloodshed,
It wasn't the first time we fought war but sometimes I couldn't help but ask...
When will this end?
When will I no longer smell the irony scent of blood?
The cries and painful hollers of my loved ones?
When will I no longer hold them, as they die in my arms?
As my fingers manage to have contact with their tears so warm?
When will I see the old world once more?
Where no sin was ever present in our fold?
When will I serve my praise to God and Him only?
And not fight these monsters, who only craves for power and evil?
When...?
When would I see the light present in everyone's hearts?
When..?
When will life stop being hard??
I saw the scene unravel before my eyes,
A thousand men, cursing the other to die.
Reapers, and fairies, fight the devils mercilessly,
Most taken by surprise, and died rather quickly.
I know they have fallen,
I know they have sinned,
But as I put my thought deeper,
We were once all friends.
My tears, are for everyone,
My heart, is for everyone.
I always try to smile the best I can,
But how can I? When to endless problems, I can no longer run?
Uriel yelled, encouraging me to stand,
As I felt my knees tremble, whispering to him, "I can't,"
Where is the hope in my chest? I feel it fading,
Where is the fire in my spirit? I feel it's missing.
Uriel held my hand, like what he always does,
He told me to escape, that to see another tomorrow, I simply must,
I stood, but my injuries were far too much,
I felt myself fall, closed my eyes, as I can't further watch.
Then...screams followed, and I heard Uriel yell in pain,
I turned to look, and saw his body wrapped in the Fifth Lord's chains.
I stood up, trying with every ounce of strength I have left,
Shaking as I saw the bodies scattered around me, the scent of Death.
I am not formidable, for my strength belongs to God, Himself,
Without him, I am as fragile and useless as a shell.
I tried to free Uriel from the chains that binded him,
As Asmodeus taunted, saying how weak we've been.
On his side was a trembling woman, eyes now open of the world she's been,
I understand her fears, wondering what all of this things really mean.
Uriel saw too perhaps, and that gave him some motivation to fight back,
He broke the chains, with either pure will or luck.
I watched his back, I tried to fight my way too,
Uriel saved me, like what he always do.
He yelled at the reapers to keep doing what they are meant,
As the fairies rescue some weakened prisoners, and leave those already dead.
I...I did not want this to happen, but even I, can't tell what the future holds,
I could only fight, and try, as the future slowly unfolds.
And then, something hit my skin,
But barely scratched it,
And when I knew it,
Uriel had been hit.
His eyes were wide open, shaking at the metal that now cling unto his chest,
As Asmodeus, suffering from his injuries as well, had his face bloodied in a mess.
He pulls the metal, which hurt Uriel more,
Angered, I without a second thought, attacked the fifth Lord,
He groans in pain, until Belphegor comes my way,
Stuck in a checkmate, all I felt was pain.
Uriel coughed, as he slowly stood up,
As I help him dodge, all the blows and attacks,
He held my hand tightly, saying me to leave,
He had done his duty, and between the two of us, I should live.
...
(Author's POV)
It was a long time ago,
Michael felt a bit lonesome seeing himself serve alone,
And when the same light where he was born touched the white floor of heaven,
He felt excited to know who else came.
One little boy, with light blue hair appeared,
His skin as pale as the clouds itself.
He stared at him, mesmerized by his beauty,
When the lights appeared again, making several more angels.
He was shy, feeble, would barely set his footsteps to other places,
Michael took interest in his shyness, and decided to have him his closest comrade.
He always had the purest heart, the purest intention,
The mirror of the white soft clouds and snow every winter season.
He always says the best of advices,
He was the heart of all the archangels.
Raphael may have humility,
But Uriel sets his hidden frustrations free.
Humility at all times could make him feel less spoken about things,
And Uriel makes sure he is heard as he please.
Michael is the epitome of charity,
But sometimes his sacrificial self could be his fall eventually,
Uriel makes sure he doesn't go overboard,
Assuring him that his actions won't anger the Lord.
Gabriel is too diligent,
To the point where sometimes he felt like he lacks independence,
Uriel makes sure he doesn't feel that way at all times,
And whenever he is doubtful of his purpose, Uriel would give him advice.
Selaphiel, the one whom used to have the most forgiving heart,
But after seeing the harsh truth of reality, slowly had his perfect delusions torn apart.
He was temperance, the one who always think things through before making a decision,
Sometimes he overthinks, and Uriel saves him from inevitable depression.
Barachiel was a master of patience,
At most times he always keeps himself silent,
But behind his smile and obedience,
Uriel knows when he's in pain.
Jegudiel was the ray of sunlight that will never meet its night,
And most oftentimes, time for himself he forgets to find,
And when he feels drained and exhausted,
Uriel will make sure to listen to his bargains,
"Being kind doesn't mean you let others trample your whole being,"
Uriel would say, as Jegudiel would apologize, if he's too demanding.
Uriel feels happiness when all of them have a happy face,
It's what he deems to complete his every day.
He always wanted to keep everyone safe, everyone happy,
But now that he falls, his wings already fading slowly,
Who dare save him? Who dare whisper comfort in his ears?
Michael saw the scene take place, and screamed as he lost another one dear.
Asmodeus panted, as he falls on his knees,
The wounds getting the best of him, as the chains he then released,
Uriel fell, the hole in his chest more visible,
As the reapers then felt his aura become weaker.
Now aware something was wrong,
They went to Michael, who was caught in his delusion,
Uriel was still alive, he tells himself,
As he embraces his dear old friend.
His vessel(body) started to feel cold,
As Michael cried further, there's a lot of things he still haven't told.
Before Uriel lost the light from his eyes,
He reminded him, that the last thing he wanted to see was his smile.
Michael looked at him, tears falling evidently,
As two reapers then drag him, fearfully,
Michael knew that he needed to stand up,
Although he had to let go of his dear friend's hand.
Asmodeus and Belphegor were both weak at the moment,
Making Michael escape, though still filled with torment,
Uriel smiles one last time as Michael stares in grief,
There was a promise, Uriel failed to keep.
The orbs engulfed Uriel's remains slowly,
As Asmodeus gagged blood, heart beating quickly,
Sellena remained still, eyes in the verge of tears,
Confused and torned, of which side could win.
Despite the chaos that enveloped the crowd,
Satan fought rather nonchalantly, as he swings his sword around.
He felt emotionless, no anger expressed in his face,
Which was more of a problem, as his next move cannot be traced.
...
Lluming felt his heart slow in pace,
As he saw the blue orbs, coming his way,
It was Uriel's and it failed to escape,
Just went to his instead.
He felt regret that he hadn't been there to aid them fight,
And now what else can he do? But use the knowledge to do what's right,
He heaved heavily, and continued his steps,
Until he heard something, creep to his left.
