Chereads / NEW YEAR AND AN APOCALYPSE / Chapter 101 - Chapter 101: NEVER LET YOUR GUARD DOWN

Chapter 101 - Chapter 101: NEVER LET YOUR GUARD DOWN

Asmodeus took Sellena to the balcony,

Where he slipped a hand on her shoulder casually.

Sellena looked on the devil's eyes,

"Sellena, tell me your story, without any lies,"

She widened her gaze, and felt emotions build up,

Remembering her childhood, and all the memories she count as tough.

Why would she share it to a demon?

Would he genuinely listen to her?

"Don't nudge it off, tell me everything,

That man we met that morning,

He's mocking you with something,

It couldn't pass as just, 'nothing,'

I know that there's more,

I want the untamed version, so open your door,

I won't judge you, but I really want to know,

For you're still a mystery, I'm about to explore.

Ever since you came here, there's a wall that's built around your body,

You're calculating, almost fearless, and wary,

I want to know the reason why you lost your sweetness,

Why you're different, than most I met,"

Sellena's eyes began to water but she contemplates on telling him or not,

Despite his nature, he seemed to symphatize with her a lot.

He wondered if this was what Lluming was talking about,

That demons have two faces, one evil, one sound.

She looked afar, remembering the abuse she went through,

Until suddenly, her chest longs to tell him true.

It was no easy job to keep everything to yourself,

She wanted to believe, that this was Asmo's true self.

What harm would it do when she simply tells him?

It won't change any fact, it's as harmless as one thinks.

Asmodeus pulled a handkerchief in his pocket,

Careful that he'd drop his enchanted objects,

And offered to wipe her tears for her,

But Sellena grabbed the piece of cloth,

Rejecting his offer.

Just as when Asmodeus thought he had failed,

Sellena held his hand, gesturing him to stay.

"How further back do you want me to tell?"

"That point where you felt you've had hell,"

Sellena chuckles slightly, hoping to distract the demon from the tears she's having,

"It all started when I was born, I was weak and dying.

My parents prayed, all night and morning,

They became religious, well-known, and when I lived, they count it as their biggest blessing.

I was their first child, and they did everything they could to provide,

They were wonderful parents, who taught me what's wrong and right.

And when I went to school, I always end up with the highest of marks,

They were proud, but somehow those weren't enough.

I was depressed whenever I get a low score,

Believing it is what I am, and nothing more.

My parents would be upset, which makes the pressure even higher,

Even the huge expectation for me, makes it harder for my brothers.

Soon, I was longing for some validation,

Some words of selfless care and concern,

I met this boy, Jayden was his name,

He seemed kind, but he lit my life aflame.

Young, gullible, blind,

I thought he was kind.

He would talk to me, sweet like honey,

Not knowing that his intentions, were the end of me.

We started as friends, but he then forced me to be more than that,

Afraid and lost, I complied so he won't get mad.

He'd force me to kiss him,

Putting his hands on my legs,

Making my personal barrier weaker and thin.

I felt uncomfortable, but I was afraid of what my parents would say if I did tell them my troubles,

I carried all the abuse, hoping he'd lose interest sooner.

But I was trapped, I was trapped with that filthy man, and I would cry every night,

Regretting the chances I have to flight.

His presence made me no better,

My grades drop by, even lower,

He taught me a lot of useless things I didn't have interest in learning,

He told me to rely on him always, that he was my everything.

He was a big man, I was afraid what he'd do when I refuse,

I was so naive...didn't even realized it was all abuse.

What made me lose it though, was that one night,

Where he forced me to go into that room,

As he found his way up my thighs.

That was when I felt enough, I kicked him and dashed away,

I cried, but he got some of his assaults on tape,

He never did took my dignity successfully, but the trauma was enough,

That news reached my parents, and for the first two weeks they locked me up.

They were ashamed of my being,

And I was too, although I hoped they search everything,

That even though some of it was my fault,

I was just scared of what it'd result.

Then when my parents did forgive me,

Because of my brothers who keep defending me,

That fool asked for forgiveness so we can be together again,

After he ruined my life, and caused me permanent pain.

I refused, every time I see his face, I remember all the hell I've gone through,

All the judging faces people gave, all the words they tell me too.

Even today, I have nightmares of black tentacles making their way on my thighs,

As events then replied in my mind, countless times.

I chose to be distant from most men,

I chose to be cold, as others would say.

I chose to only look for my family, and a few friends,

I never had myself involved with a guy ever since that day.

Well, until your Lord Lucifer decide we marry, of course,

Made that vow, for better or for worse,

It surprised me though, that a devil of lust has more restraint,

That that boy, oh how so strange,"

Suddendly, the strong and just Sellena broke down crying,

Frustrated, confused of everything,

Asmodeus felt guilty, as years ago, he was the type of men she'd hate,

Lecherous, impulsive, could barely wait.

It was only when Asmodeus longed for committment, for true love,

That he changed little by little, although it felt tough.

He embraced her, and once again felt the softness of her skin,

How beautiful, even though she's crying with him.

He understood every word she said about manipulation,

He had experienced those too, although the one who did it to him, succeedeed with her intention.

His hold became tighter, wanting her to feel loved as much as he can,

He was a demon, but the most sympathetic one.

Perhaps it's because he didn't actually fell with Lucifer,

But was just forced to be let go, as soon as he was with 'her,'

The succubus, who lured the young boy to lose his innocence,

Used his grief and trust to her own advantage.

Sellena noticed that the demon beside her began to sniffle,

She looked at him with worried eyes, and found out he wasn't at all well.

He did not look at her, his mind seemed far away,

"Asmodeus, are you...okay?"

The demon snapped back from reality,

And looked at her, beaming a smile that came naturally,

Not wanting the moment to he about him,

He decided to ask a question,

"So, you have brothers, huh?"

"Yes. I had a cute and childish younger brother,

He had an illness, so most of his classmates would tease him as a loser,

He feels the most loved at home,

So knowing his needs, we barely leave him alone.

Then...I have my other brother, the one who would tease me most times,

But whenever someone wrongs me, he'd explode like mine.

He's rash, and reckless,

But has some hidden sweetness.

He would always joke around when I'm lonely,

And pulled me up, when I'm suffering the judgement of society.

I found my faith through him,

We had been closer ever since,

We may not be as sweet as other siblings,

But to me, they're my everything,"

Suddenly, Asmodeus remembered Belphegor's words,

"Do you think they're still alive?"

"I'd hope everyday they are,

I'd rather die myself, than one of them harmed,"

Those words made Asmodeus scared as Belphegor assumed one of Azazel's lab specimen was related to Sellena herself,

So he quickly kissed her hand as he hoped he's still not dead.

Asmodeus took Sellena to the room after fetching food for him and Lluming,

After that, he put on his royal coat, and went to Azazel, hoping to find something.

He knocked, but no one answered,

He felt his chest tightened, and accepted the worst.

When he was about to go, the door unlocked,

Azazel looked disturbed, but surprised to see the fifth Lord's back.

"You...you're here? For what reason?"

Azazel asked stammering, his face screaming confusion,

Asmodeus smiled, and scratched the back of his head,

"Can I see your experiments? Can I purchase one, if you may?"

Azazel felt even more puzzled, "What for?"

"For my legions, of course,"

"I am yet to make a lot, so you should just come back after a while,

See which one is best, and most liked,"

"No. I need to purchase one now, Azazel,"

"Lord Asmodeus, you look rather unwell,

I'm sorry but I cannot allow you to buy yet,

I am still to make them all perfect.

I wouldn't want to disappoint you, right?

(Really, what's up with this idiot's mind?

What does he want? Hm, I bet he has a plan,

He's highly suspicious, more so his demands.

He's hiding something, perhaps?

Maybe I should dethrown him? Set a trap?

Why would he act desperate, in front of someone like me?

What is he after? If only I can see...)"

Azazel bowed down, pretending to do it out of humility,

As Asmodeus felt quite irritated, that he didn't let him so casually.

He doesn't know anyone who could help him do his bidding-

More than Satan himself, the Master of Manipulating.

He just had to go through him and convince him first,

It may be hard, but it's better to try and lose,

He needs to at least make Sellena feel at ease,

Bring her someone of her past at least.

He doesn't care if it takes him his dignity,

If he'd look desperate and on his knees,

If Sellena finds out he knows about her brother and didn't do anything at all,

It would tore his heart to pieces, much painful than his fall.
