Chapter 16 - Fell From The Sky (1/2)

Inside the inner court hall, Helios sat on his throne with an uneasy feeling. He felt the piercing gazes. Some gazes were disgust and hatred, he felt the pressure of a mountain on top of him.

Callista, who sat beside him, felt nothing as she is lost in her thoughts. She failed to fill her heart with guilt and regret.

Michael finally recovered and stood up. He approached his father and knelt his right knee before him.

Half of the gazes were shifted towards him. Finally the silence is broke by Michael, "Father."

His is covered with his dried blood, hair and clothes are disheveled and torn. His overall appearance is alike from elegance to poverty.

"He has left," he said with his hoarse voice.

"No need to inform me as the people are waiting," Helios replied.

Michael stood back up and teleported to where he was seated. The people then shifted their gazes back to the mentally unstable Helios. Beyond the tense atmosphere, some knowledgeable gods were discussing among themselves whether they should force Helios to abdicate or nay.

The thought of Helios committing crimes, punishable to be placed in the Underworld's Seventh Level; made them disturbed.

As silent moments passes like a blink of the eye, they have agreed to forcibly dethrone Helios. "What have you agreed upon, Evan?"

"Your dethronement."

Before any other being could say a word, Callista interfered as she felt her position as Celestial Goddess getting threatened. Her greediness is visible.

"As the Celestial Goddess, you have no right to either discuss or interfere with any political and military matters. Remember your place, my lady," Evan politely told her.

"I have the right to interfere! You are trying to dethrone Helios alongside I, who is his wife!" she yelled at him. Realizing what she had done, Callista shut her mouth.

Helios looked at Evan and stood up, "May I ask why I should abdicate?"

Evan chuckled at his words, he raised his head and shared distant eye contact. His eyes were deeply serious while Helios' are empty.

"Don't act like a fool that you already are. Your sins and our investigation has proven you, guilty."

"Are you saying that most of you have investigated me?" Helios became furious.

In the Mortal Realm, "It was raining earlier. Now the sun is scorching hot, what in the world is happening?!" he complained

Return to the Promised Land, Helios gritted his teeth as he got reprimanded by his own soldiers. His expression is quite ugly for a gorgeous figure.

Before Helios is escorted out of the inner court hall. A familiar looking creature appeared, it is wounded and had torn clothes on. It seems it got attacked from the way.

"What does Eric have to say?" Evan asked the wounded creature.

"ᚺᛖ ᚨᛋᚴᛖᛞ ᛏᛟ ᛚᚨᛒᛖᛚ ᛏᚺᛖ ᚤᛟᚢᚾᚷ ᛟᚾᛖ ᚨᛋ ᚨ ᛏᚱᚨᛁᛏᛟᚱ ᛏᛟ ᛃᚢᛋᛏᛁᚠᚤ ᛏᚺᛖ ᛏᚱᛁᚨᛚ ᚨᚾᛞ ᚺᚨᛋ ᛞᛖᚲᛁᛞᛖᛞ ᛏᛟ ᛒᚨᚾᛁᛋᚺ ᚺᛖᚱ."

Evan nodded. "He asked to label the young one as a traitor to justify the trial and has decided to banish her, is what he said." he translated for those gods who aren't multilingual.

When Irene and Michael heard his words, they shared a shocked expression. "This is getting absurd! Irene hasn't done anything to get labeled as a traitor and have her name tainted," he yelled.

Most of the gods looked at him pitifully while others began to discuss something in a low voice. Michael felt powerless while Irene is scared for her life.

Moments later the council chose Michael as the new ruler while Irene's banishment will be continued by her own brother as his first duty.
