Chapter 10 - Chapter 9

Before I be begin planning I look at the map again and check our progress. So far everything is fine. No new planets showed up and there's no demons flying around ship, at least not according to the camera's. I wonder what it will be like? If there's even anything left.

No, for now I should worry about the ships situation and improving. We have plenty of rations and there seems to be a urine purifier in case of emergencies. Hey system can I choose the branch now.

The thing that filled my head was information on the various branches of use. One being combat oriented and another being support oriented. There are five more, but for the most part, they're the same with a difference in materials and energy source.

-At Anytime-

Alright, I choose the magic powered support branch. The combat oriented models are useful as they can directly boost my combat strength but they're extremely inflexible. The support model can assist in mana flow, allows free control over the activation of pre-programmed movements, and is cheaper overall.

Once again, my head hurts. This time the pain is rather light, only lasting a little over fifteen minutes. I immediately go over the materials list and creation method.

If I make one I'll spend 1,635c in total. I can probably just pull some metal off the walls and see what can be used from the guns and armor. I also have to measure my arm. It will take a while, but that's fine. I begin pulling out the necessary tools from the system window.

A single tape-measure. I small circular saw. A small finger length sculpting blade. A small oven. Thick fire proof gloves made from an unknown leather. Gold silk. Copper wire. A large vat of cold water. A large, person sized hydraulic press.

After making sure I didn't miss anything I buy some materials from the store as well as the skill 'Low-Level Sculpting(0%)' for 1,000c

-Balance=665c-

A small pile of sculpting clay, sculpting tools, synthetic metals, and blood from various animals falls in front of me. Once again I feel a light headache as information begins to flow into my brain. Within minutes I learn the basics of sculpting. How to carve wood. How to shape clay. How to masterfully handle sculpting tools.

I begin measuring my arm. My biceps have a circumference of 13.5 inches and my arm span is 192 cm. I am 6 ft 2 inch tall. After thoroughly measuring I begin molding a replica of my both arms. I first use some copper wire to make the base skeleton.

I make sure to put special attention on the fingers. I grab a large pile of clay and lightly spray some with water since it's a tad too dry. After squeezing and rolling the clay a bit I begin putting some on the copper wire until I have a rough model of a handless arm. I then grab a small flat brush with soft bristles and begin lightly brushing the base.

Making sure to occasionally spray the clay, I continue to smoothen the surface, occasionally making small marks to show where the muscle should be sculpted. The clay begins to dry so I spray my hands and begin lightly molding some of the more detailed features.

I then begin making the hand. Gently placing the clay on the copper wire I begin shaping each individual finger, making sure to cut off any excess clay with the small knife. After making sure the shape is right I begin making the muscles as well as various markings on the palm using a combination of a small ball tipped press and flat blade.

After around an hour I finish shaping everything. I then begin circulating my mana and lightly heat my hands. My species excels in body manipulation and strengthening so this is relatively easy. Though, I still have to be careful as the system describes the

clay as prone to crack when heated.

Finally, after 4 and a half hours I finish making the arm models. Suddenly, while examining the models I begin to remember my past. I was an ordinary guy. Nothing special.

Maybe that's why I wanted to die? Honestly, I dont really know. Before this mess happened I was filled with a constant of emptiness. I was never happy or sad; just calm. Life and death were the same to me.

Now, while I am still numb to a certain extent I can feel. Though, I am a little to quick to accept death. "Alright, that enough. Timeto work." I start by flattening the mana conductive steel I bought, cutting and molding them into shape after.

I then place the molded metal in their appriote positions. The elbow and finger joints as well as the wrist are left emty with a small line connecting the elbow with the base of the upper hand.

Small bits of iron wrap each finger, small string sized gaps in between each piece. The upper and lower arm are reletivly empty with only a few palm sized metal circles seemingly placed without thought.

After making sure everything is in place I begin cutting some soft Magna Liata leather I bought. It's a soft blue with a rubber like texture. If I remember the Magna Liata should be a species of cow from the humans mother planet.

Between each piece of leather and metal is a small string sized gap forming a large magic formation. I place the golden silk I bought in between each gap. After securing the silk I leave a small web of gold on each steel circle.

Placing a small ring in the center of the metal circles I embed a small low level magic stone in each one, making sure to connect the loose string to every stone. The first layer is finished so now I just have to finish with the center layer.

I begin placing the computer chips I purchased in their appropriate place, connecting each one with several copper lines. Finally, to finish the center I place the memory and procedural maintenance chip on the shoulder and elbow. This is in charge of activating the pre-set programs such as 'Reduced Movement' and 'Release Mana' in the memory portion of the chip.

To finish the arm I place the third and final layer. I fill each gap in the chips with a special gel meant to isolate and direct the energy in the arm. Then I place several 12 cm steel plates on the top. Covering the joints and arm. Finally, the arm is finished.

To get rid of the clay I cut a small hole and pour in a softener. I gently scoop the clay out, using the finger sized suction of a special extractor provided by the system. It's about 3 ft tall and 2 ft wide.

It looks like a cylinder of steel with several small suctions loosely hanging on the bottom. It will extract ant material I want it to, but because I did not meet the requirement for a system upgrade the most it can do is separate metals.

I suck up the clay within 5 minutes. Finally, everything is done. Immediately I put it on, sliding my arm on it after detaching the elbow joint and hand. After, making sure everything feels fine I put on the elbow and metal hand.

Suddenly, my arm seems to be made entirely of silver. A spiders black silk web forms several patterns around the elbow, scale like plates shining across the upper and lower arm. I disconnect the upper and lower arm and begin scooping out the clay.

It takes a little over an hour. Unfortunately, I am still not done. I remove the hand and begin gently wetting the clay, scooping out small chunks every few seconds. This stupid task takes over half a day.

Finnaly, I finish cleaning it. After making sure everything is fine I put on the arm. "Not bad." The arm feels rather smooth. Regardless of how I bend or move my arm there is no delay.

I try manipulating the mana in my body, finding that its flowing better than usual. I think about limiting the arms movement and it becomes noticeably harder to move fast. When moving slow there is no resistance.

After experimenting with the arms movement I guide my mana to my finger tips and palm. Small nail thick blades of thick blue mana shot out my finger tips. They can be as short as 1 inches and as long 8 inches. It seems that I can also create a small ball of condensed mana above my palm.

Looking at my shining arm and bright skin I begin to smile. Things have finally changed. Though, it may not exactly be a positive change it's still a change nonetheless.

I remember that day in the tub. The sense of emptiness brought about by my dull, unchanging life. Even when aliens appeared nothing changed. Go to work, eat, sleep or get fired, look for a job, get rejected, get a job, go to work, eat sleep.

Over and over and over again. The world continued to move while I stayed still. I didn't feel sad or angry. Just empty. This is how it's always been and always will be. That simple.

Not anymore. My home is gone, my future is set yet unknown, and I'm a growing god. What will happen? What will I do? When will I die?

"Fuck, I'm tired." I say while rubbing my forehead. Before I go to sleep I should get somebody to man the ship in case anything happens. Slowly standing up I move to the door, exiting to the main hallway. Of course theres 2 armed Raigons guarding the door.

"Get Dai." I said. Without even bothering to listin to their response I close the door and wait, hearing a slight knock after 15 minutes. Opening the door I find a tired looking Dai. It seems that I woke him up. People should've fallen asleep a long time ago huh.

"Watcha need leader?" He says while rubbing his eyes, lightly yawning after. His has a heavy case of bed head and his clothes are extremely disheveled. He looks kind of like a well dressed bum.

"I was going to ask you to man the ship but you seem too tired for it. Go back to sleep." I said concerned as to whether Dai can stay awake. I may be tired but I can definitely stay up for another few hours. He hesitates for a few seconds.

"Sure. I already got some sleep anyways. Are you going to stay here or do you need me to find you a bedroom?" Dai said with a slight smile, yawning again shortly after.

I tell him I'll stay in case he needs help. Real quickly I show him how to steer, speed up, and slow down the ship as well as how to access the map. He may be a tad bit crazy but I should be fine.

Besides, if he decides to kill is all or something, oh well. Who knows maybe I will wake up and find out I'm no longer a god. Im also a tad curious as to whether the other gods will help me. I may not be attacked by a god but maybe they'll save my life.

Slowly things begin to go dark. My mind grows foggier every second. Before my thoughts vanish I say a single thing in my mind. I wonder what will happen in this life? Whether it be short or long doesnt really matter.
