Everything went like a blur.
And Murasaki was certain he was dead...
or maybe not...
He waited for anything violent to happen, to feel a little pain here and there.
Okay scratch that. It's definitely wrong to call it simply little pain.
To feel a crushing pain is the right term.
But there was simply none.
He opens his eyes and then...
He was safe. But not on the sidewalk he was once walking on.
He was on the opposite side.
But on the side where he was once supposed to be, a man was hit. The man's wearing and build though, looks similar to his. But his face was clearly not like his. Blood running down his still open eyes. Even his has was open, and well, broken.
More so,
Half his body was crushed by the car.
Both him and the driver are dead.
Murasaki felt horrible.
Did he just switched deaths with the...the person there?
No...
No way.
People rushed to the scene, taking pictures while some are calling the police.
This was such a mess.
Murasaki, stressed, went back home feeling traumatized. He has never...in his life but now, saw something as horrifying as that. His memories of the scary spider woman paled in comparison to this...accident.
It just felt different when you just witness a death of someone.
It felt...unbelievably overwhelming.
Gabby called him multiple times, wanting to know how he was but he just keeps turning them off, not sure of what to say.
He showered to clear his mind.
He...
He was supposed to be the one dead but...
He wasn't.
How and why?
Was the smell...
Was whoever the smell belongs to, protected him by chance?
Questions began to flood his mind more and more.
And by the way, he doesn't even smell that damn scent anymore. So its only purpose was to...save him?
He walks away from the bathroom, changing into his clothes and then searching similar phenomenas on the internet. But there was none. Fear and curiousity was replaced by rage. What the hell? Was whatever superior being that was...playing with him? Toying him?
He yelled his hatred towards that invisible creature, screaming his frustrations at it while pointing it as if it was right in front of him.
His hands were shaking, heart pounding loudly as he spoke like a madman.
Suddenly, the smell came back. And he soon regretted the outlash and stepped back, falling to his bed while crying, praying that it won't curse or kill him.
He shook like a puppy, then felt even more unsettled when he saw that one of his anime figures(the one who was Asta) was thrown away by something he still can't see.
MURASAKI: Please don't f*cking kill me! I take back every cursed word I said about you! Thank you, actually! Please, I just...I just wanted answers and I was so fricking confused. Please don't kill me. I...I still have dreams. I wanted to MARRY someone, and have kids before I die. Please...my life isn't supposed to end here yet.
Then he closed his eyes, having realized that whatever it was, was completely near him, since the smell just got stronger and stronger.
He gulped.
Then surrendered.
MURASAKI: Before you kill me, then at least let me know who or what you are...
Then he opened his eyes as if he was expecting to...
Wait what?
He felt a mix of terrified, surprised, then unbelieving at what just appeared in his front.
Did the...the thing just...simply did what he asked for?
No...
way..
And what's weirder was...there were two of them, and the older looking one looks exactly like him. But with a gray hair, thicker brows and a groomed mustache.
???: Don't be afraid. I did not intend to scare you. I am...very sorry.
The older man spoke.
Murasaki, even at 21, yelled so loud like a kid.
Even the creature felt overwhelmed by his scream that they covered their ears.
MURASAKI: Who the frick are you??!!
The one guy who looks younger, with blonde wavy hair, white skin, his left cheek having a small black star tatood on it, and teal eyes with long feminine blond eyelashes replied in a very irritated tone. Hands still covering his ears.
???: Some peeps who you shouldn't be yelling at. Ugh, I swore I won't curse anymore but you're making it hard for me. Damn you son, Zefarih.
Murasaki felt like he was simply hearing things. Did he just said son?
He was about to open his mouth once again, when the blond guy walked to him and covered his mouth as quickly as he could.
ZEFARIH: Hey, don't do that. You haven't even washed your hands yet.
???: Pff, fine.
He releases him and eventually Murasaki was gagging, since it smelled of irony blood.
MURASAKI: Pwah! Pwah!
He rushed to the bathroom to wash his face and drink some water, while trying to keep his self sane throughout the process.
Once calm and ready to ask questions, he looked at them and observed their figures. Still not sure of what they are.
HOSHI: Mmm, I know that look. Name's Hoshi. And if not mistaken, you're wondering what we are, right?
MURASAKI: Yeah...
HOSHI: Demons.
MURASAKI: What?
HOSHI: Demons, dude. D-E-M-O-N-S. Demons. Clear, enough?
MURASAKI: What??! Does that make me a half DEMON?!!
HOSHI: Yeah.
ZEFARIH: Stop freaking out son, you're really as loud as your mother.
MURASAKI: ARE...are you really as powerful as how people describe you to be???
ZEFARIH: Yes. But most demons aren't as strong as our King, Lucifer.
MURASAKI: Demons are all evil, right? Does that make me evil?
HOSHI: I actually don't want to be a demon despite the cool shapeshifting abilities I have from my mom but...then she has to bang a mortal and poof! Me and my seven brothers are born, unwillingly demons and then...relying on blood for most of our food diet. I honestly think being a demon is just...unfulfilling. So we get to be depicted as bad since our roots are bad, and we have to cause mischief to people to unpurify their souls, or simply make fun of them in revenge? Wow. Demons suck.
MURASAKI: I don't get it, still. So you don't want to be demon?
HOSHI: Obviously, yeah. So I'm trying my best to change and stuff like that.
MURASAKI: Can demons switch genders?
HOSHI: Huh?
ZEFARIH: Okay, it's supposed to be a family reunion, not a weird open forum. So...hey son, how are ya? Got any girls, yet?
HOSHI: I doubt it. He screams like a girl.
ZEFARIH: Talk ill of my son again and I'll crush your neck.
HOSHI: Uh, chill dude. I'm too young to die. I'm just 200 years old for goodness sake.
ZEFARIH: *sigh* So...son, are...are you happy to see me?
MURASAKI: I...I... I'm honestly very overwhelmed with many emotions I cannot even tell them apart. I still have so many questions, like...why did you leave me and mom?
HOSHI: Oof! Family drama coming up. Can I go out for now?
ZEFARIH: Yeah, whatever kid.
HOSHI: Just kidding, I want to watch this stuff. Pretty interesting.
ZEFARIH: Just do whatever you want Hoshi, but please shut the hell up.
HOSHI: I...hmph okay fine. Whatever.
MURASAKI: Dad...why did you left us? And have mom do all the hard work?
ZEFARIH: I was forced to go. Demons are supposed to ruin people's lives. Not complete them. I was supposed to ruin your mom, if not, Lucifer would kill her along with you if I insisted to stay.
MURASAKI: What do you mean? What happened now? Why are you here? Coming back?
ZEFARIH: Since you reached adulthood, your demon blood became stronger. Lucifer had no complaint against me watching over you since you're one of us. You're...
MURASAKI: A demon... So I'm evil, just like you? And I'm cursed, just like you... So...so, that's why Gabby kept rejecting me? I wonder if she knows my true identity, that she kept pushing me away. All this time dad, I never thought that my father was a literal demon...why? Why? Why have creatures like you wander the world the first place? How long have you lived? How many families have you broken?
ZEFARIH: Your mother is the first woman I ever loved. And I...I didn't mean to leave you behind. I...I'm sorry. I wanted US to be a normal family but...but reality hits hard. We, not all of us are purely evil. Some of us, wanted to change but can't, because of nature. I wanted so bad to see you take your first steps, but in fear of having you die at a young age, I...I gave up hoping for a normal life... I love you, son. I always have.
MURASAKI: Why did you showed up now that I don't feel like needing you?
ZEFARIH: I had a friend that told me your fate that exact moment, I wanted to save you. Only, us, demons can infere in someone's death. This is the only way I can make you feel like I cared, right?
MURASAKI: I still hate you, dad. Demons lie, according to many sources. How am I sure you're telling the truth?
ZEFARIH: Let me make it up to you, please.
MURASAKI: No. I can handle myself alone, even without you. Like I've always did. I don't need you.
ZEFARIH: Please...let me-
He stopped. Thinking back of what his son mentioned before.
ZEFARIH: I'll help you win Gabby.
Murasaki looked even more shocked at the mention of her name.
He have been offered a deal by a devil, will he accept it?
