Adrian, a boy on his early teens was running for his dear life. The pounding of his heart is extremely fast and loud, and he can't help but look from left to right, in a way that one could say he's being watched and ran after.
He tried to push everyone that would serve as an obstacle to him. Anything that could slow him down. People, carts, products displayed neatly on a mat, he doesn't care! He pushes or steps at them either way! Even as many tried to call him back because of the damage he did, his ears were deaf to their pleas.
He's endanger.
So he definitely has no time to think about others for now.
He continued to run, as far away as he can possibly can.
For Death is following him, in a form of a big man wearing a black mask, and coat. The crowd dispersed at the sight of the boogie man, yelling and running for their lives in all sorts of direction. But he didn't mind them, after all...that's not who he's after. The young boy, sprinting for his safety is his target.
And even if the boy is still running, running with all his might, he knew he can't outrun HIM forever. Despite that he only clings to the hope that he'll leave him alone.
Adrian felt his self feeling languish as he keeps going on. He heavily pants and tried to take more steps. But it's almost unbearable!
Gradually he becomes slower and slower. And every step he take feels more painful, heavier, and harder for him to endure. He took a turn, but to his horror, there was the man whom he never wanted to meet again.
Tears fell down from his eyes as he realized he had nowhere else to go. Energy was fully drained from him, and every bit of motivation was stolen the time the man grabbed his arm in a swift second. He fell, his knees totally failing him. Every thing was lost. Done.
He knew he screwed his last chance to live. He tried to stand up, but his body won't follow him anymore because of extreme fatigue and exhaustion.
Adrian, wanting to live, did the last thing he can do. Looked at him with begging eyes, asking for pardon and mercy.
When the man saw it however, he simply laughed. He then pulled him tightly by the collar, rasing him from the ground as if he's nothing. Adrian peed his pants in fear.
???: You really think I'd listen to you? After what you did to my daughter? Well, bad luck for you, her father's an assassin who don't gives a f*ck.
Adrian cried.
ADRIAN: Please...please...I beg you sir...she...I...I.didn't kill her...I-
???: You did it without her consent moron!
ADRIAN: I...I convinced her to do it with me?! She said okay.
???: Because you trapped her on a situation she has no way of escaping to! You didn't gave her an option you whimp!
The man said in anger, throwing him to the wall and bashing his head.
Blood oozed from the boy's nose, as three pieces of teeth fell down from the impact. He cried louder.
ADRIAN: Si...sir...I'm sorry! I...I'll take responsibility for her!
???: I don't want a f*cking bastardo to be one with my family!
ADRIAN: Sir...is there...no other way for me to pay for this?
???: There's only one.
...and it's death.
The man pulled something from his pocket.
The light glistened on the sharp edge of the knife. Adrian's eyes became more horrified and he begged louder.
???: Hahah, I'm no god forgive. Now...pay for what you did. Pay for it everyday, in hell. And when I followed you there, I'll help Satan torture you more.
ADRIAN: No sir! Wait! I can change!
???: No, you won't!
He shouted in pain as the blade entered his chest.
Blood splattered on the wall, as his screams was slowly drowned by his own liquids. He struggled to free himself from the man's grip, but everything he did prove to be fruitless. He slowly accepted his faith, as his eyes closed.
He then felt this sensation of having the air in your body sucked from you. As if it's harder to breath. He coughed as He coughed, as he gasp for air.
Soon enough, life escaped from his lips, as he took one final breath. He died.
The man didn't feel satisfied yet, and decided to throw his dead body on the trashcan.
???: That's where people like you belong, heh.
He didn't feel the slightest remorse or guilt as he walked away, even humming a tune, telling himself of a job well done.
He deserved that, he thought.
For hurting his little princess.
Who no one, ever should.
...
Red casually waits on one corner, waiting with a straight face for the man to leave. He made his way to the body after minutes had pass. He opened the trash can.
Then the reaper released his scythe, next as always, aimed it at the victim's body, followed by a soul emerging. Red sighed. The soul is in a dark hue of gray. A filthy soul, eh? He deserved it.
He collected it, then teleported to his next due.
The next victim were two innocent women. One was robbed then shot on the head.
The other was strangled. He waited patiently, as she too, had her screams subsided, and eventually killed.
Even if he wanted to help them, no reaper should interfere with Death. Innocent and Sinful man dies everyday. It's inevitable.
This. This is Red's whole life as a red type reaper. Always revolving on murdered bodies and tragic stories. Even their screams doesn't make him flinch anymore. He was so used to seeing people die that their voices of horror was no different for him as listening to music.
But he didn't enjoy listening to it.
Not one bit.
This job could be fulfilling but...it can also be,
Dark...
and
Gloomy.
Until he met her.
And he felt his world, little by little, become bigger, better, more fun-filled and exciting, days that one couldn't wait to experience.
Red was about to go to his last due when he felt a feeling of uneasines surge through his body. The crow he sent to Gabby has sent him a distress signal.
Damn.
Red cursed under his breath. Seriously, right now?
Humility is busy sealing another beast, while Harry is still collecting his dues. The others are at work too. It's up to him now.
Not knowing if she is safe or not, sent more fright to his body than the sight he saw and witnessed back then. He teleported immediately to her location. What could have happened?
When he found her on the ground, she was speechless, shaking, and almost paralyzed. She quickly pointed to the deeper part of Kirifuri forest. She wasn't able to speak, and he did not understood her well. The crow he sent was still there, much stronger than his last summons, it was able to cast a barrier around her.
Red has gotten stronger.
Then she spoke, trying to make herself heard.
GABBY: M...MJ.
Red remembered. That's right. He wasn't here!
Saving the guy who rivaled with him in terms of Gabby's affection, and manipulated him, might sound foolish to some, but he's not just any other guy around Gabby. She cares about him. But first he needed Gabby to be safe.
RED: You're temporarily going to the Spirit Realm first.
GABBY: W-what?
RED: Don't be afraid, I'll promise to bring him back.
He extends his hand, reaching for hers. She took them quickly. Then with the help of Red, was able to stand up.
The ground like before feels being devoured by a strong force, and within a minute, she was back at the Realm of Spirits.
Red finds a trusted purple reaper, then told her to take care of Gabby, a mortal soul for a while.
She agrees.
Red smiles at Gabby, who shyly smiled back, still shaking from the trauma.
Red then goes back to the mortal realm, to hopefully save Murasaki.
RED: I'll save you, because you matter to her.
He whispered to his self, then casted a dozen of shadow crows to scan the area.
Just where could Murasaki be?
...
Murasaki wakes up to the sound of something crawling.
He then realized that he has been immobalized by thick white silk covering most of his body.
He looked at his captor, and was shocked to see it change its form.
JORUGUMO: Finally, my meal is awake! Now before I eat you, I need that reaper friend if yours to come here and rescue you. I'll then finish him up, then I'll get to finally...Finally!!!! FINALLY!!! Eat you.
MURASAKI: What the hell are you?!
JORUGUMO: I don't like the tone of your voice. You're not being nice.
MURASAKI: Let me go!
JORUGUMO: Stop shouting!
MURASAKI: Who the hell won't shout at this situation?!
The Jorugumo felt impatient. Then decided to extract her claws.
JORUGUMO: Maybe I should eat your tongue right now, surely you'll still be alive when he gets here.
Murasaki felt afraid by the time she had said that. She was getting closer too.
And by the look of her face, she sounded serious.
