Perhaps many had been wondering...
Why is Aka Manto the way he is?
Why is he so vengeful? ruthless? savage?
What could have drove him to haunt the stalls?
And kill everyone who answers his question?
Why does he wears a mask?
A red cloak?
And why of all places, haunt a comfort room?
Why not malls? schools? houses?
And what's with the tissue papers?
...
One time, a kid named Kuroi Yamazaki, was living peacefully with his mother and father.
He had a bright life ahead of him.
He grew into a wonderful boy many had admired, up close and afar.
He have fluffy black hair, so black that her mother immediately named him 'Kuroi' (in Japanese it means Black) the moment he was born. Some argue that it was so beautiful and dark it blends at the night sky.
He also has wonderful azure eyes. Which of course had been the reason for many female wars on their schools.
Because of his fame however, he also had a lot of jealous enemies.
They bullied him, mostly on the bathroom, where they do all sort of nasty things to him.
But he chose to ignore them, because one of the bullies is actually the son of a wealthy man. Whose riches and influence is second to none in their town.
If he fight back, who knew what would have happened to them? Maybe they can be killed without any questions, and nobody to look for them. He comes home beaten up, and would always make his parents worry. But he can't tell them.
Even with visible bruises, he was still so attractive that one particular girl named Mika, who by the way caught the eyes of the wealthy man's son, has decided to give him a token of love.
The jealous admirer, filled with hatred decided to make him pay.
...
One Sunday, Kuroi was about to go home. When familiar steps followed him from behind. He looked back. And horror struck his eyes when he realized who they were.
The men smiled and put a mask on his face.
Then dragged his body to a public comfort room.
Then asked him a lot of ridiculous questions.
Blue or red?
If he says blue, he'll get strangled until he almost runs out of breath,
If he says red, he will be punched until his lips bleed.
They tortured him, and he begged them to stop.
Finally, they told him to kill the last occupant of the rest room tomorrow, or else...his whole family dies.
Knowing that the threat may come true, he blindly follows their instruction.
Although he knows it's undeniably wrong.
...
[Day of Murder]
A timid Kuroi leaves the class room with a sad expression on his face.
He checks the male bathroom.
There was no occupant.
He checks the female bathroom.
And his heart almost exploded from his chest when he saw the innocent and ever loving Mika finishing up washing her hands.
She looks at him with a lovely smile, that was then replaced by confusion, then a readied scream when he shows his knife in hand.
He puts on his mask so she won't see his tears, then stabs her to death.
After doing the crime, and seeing his palms tainted in his lover's blood, he snapped back to reality.
He killed her.
...
He, shaking and lost out of his mind decided to turn himself down.
He tried to tell the truth that he was forced to do it, but none believed him.
The angry mother of Mika poured hot boiling water on half of his face the moment she heard the news. She wanted to kill him too, but the elders told her that he should suffer slowly, and die a much more gruesome death.
...
The day after that...
His parents were sentenced to death.
They believed their son, but know that their voices will never be heard...because to them, they're nobodies.
The poor Kuroi screamed and tried his best to cling to their clothes, trying to stop their certain death, as they were dragged from the blades.
Their heads were decapitated from their bodies in public as punishment.
And all he could do is watch and cry.
Kuroi was also banished to die on the woods, perhaps to be eaten by wolves. Helping him would make the helper be killed on spot. He was treated as a curse.
Angry, confused and in despair, he steals a white cloak and a mask from the nearby neighborhood he sees, then moves to his classroom at night, managing to avoid the eyes of the guards by blending in with the white walls and hiding on bushes.
He also strangles students who would see him too early.
His face was never identified, but they all knew that every night, a kid would be murdered on the comfort rooms.
He started by one at a time.
Until it got bigger.
And his white cloak turned to red as the victims' blood pours down to his clothing.
...
One samurai, though fearful decided to fight him.
Both died in the process.
But unusually enough, the killings never stopped.
Kuroi kills...even as a spirit.
To avenge everyone who didn't help him.
His innocence, freedom, happiness, family and childhood were stolen from him. And now, he will be one of Karma's embodiment. He will avenge every thing they did to him. And their bloodline, and other families will suffer, the way he had suffered at the hand of greedy men.
And so he kills...
And he...doesn't plan to stop.
