"Oh, fuck!" I muttered under my breath. Beside me, the three students from Ten Thousand Swords University exchanged terrified glances. They were on the verge of screaming, but thankfully they were so shocked they weren't able to make a single sound. Yet.
Using my sword, I flicked the dog-sized spider out from under the log. The behemoth leaped upward, or at least raised one foot when the spider hit its skin. It stomped on the creepy crawly almost instinctively, the poor bug disappearing under its massive foot. At the same time, it dropped the log back on us.
