I spent the next month or so training, but I didn't make much progress. If I was some cultivation story protagonist, I would probably make some breakthrough, learn a new technique or skill, overdose on some steroid that was called "spirit pills" or something, and/or gain some sort of epiphany. You know, the standard power up before tournament cliché.
Reality wasn't so convenient, unfortunately.
I had to deal with the very real limits of stagnation. Rather, I wondered briefly if I couldn't make any progress precisely because I placed too much pressure on myself. Then again, people took many months, if not at least several years to make a breakthrough to the next realm. I had only recently made it to the peak of Heaven realm about two months ago, three. I couldn't be too greedy here.
