"Ugh!"
Xia Xing Yue conjured an ice wall, but the treant smashed through it in a single blow. She was sent skidding backward, blood dripping from her mouth as her insides were shaken from the impact. Not missing a beat, she stabbed the ground with her sword and unleashed her ice domain.
Part of the treant's branch arm was frozen, but with a single flex of its emerald qi, the monstrous creature broke the ice encrusting its bark. Frost rained down from its now free wooden limb and it hammered Xia Xing Yue.
"Argh?!"
Blood spurted from her mouth as Xia Xing Yue was sent flying across the courtyard. Fortunately, I managed to execute a footwork technique and caught hold of her before she hit the ground. While I did so, skidding to a stop, I heard panicked cries behind me.
"The barrier! It's…closing up!"
