The Boys headed down the alley. The alley was narrow, musty, and dark. The area they were in also made him nervous. They were in the most crime-filled part of the city. Being with his best friend filled him with the courage to continue, though he would've never been caught there alone. The boys continued down the alley while the conversation continued:
-" I don't get it, why do you wanna be a hero?" Remy asked
-" I'm not entirely sure, I wanna save people with a smile and show everyone what a hero is supposed to be, someone to look up to!" Nate said with extreme enthusiasm and pride!
-" I don't feel like most heroes do it for that reason… The world needs a hero like you." Remy then caught a glimpse of something. 'It moved through the darkness creeping, watching, lurking in the shadows…' These thoughts all ran rampant through Remy's head as the anxiety sank in. Remy froze in fear unable to move. Nate looked over to him in confusion saying:
" Are you okay?"
-" I saw something…"
-" What was it?"
-" I don't know"
-" Probably just a rat"
-" It looked a little big to be a rat" Just as Remy said that, a set of footsteps approached from the darkness. Fear crept up on Remy's back as he stood staring in the direction. A humanoid figure closed in, and as it got closer, the boys stood in shock. It was the Number One Hero: Alacrity. He walked out of the shadows doing a cocky strut. Nate said to him with great pride.
-" Alacrity, great work today on saving people from the sand villain! I watched the news and saw!"
-" All in a day's work!"
-" Do you think I can become a hero?"
-" Of course anyone can if they try hard enough, though I have to go!" The hero stated with such confidence, but Remy felt something was off like the hero wasn't all that he seemed. His words seemed shaky, his smile seemed fake. Maybe he was the only one to notice this. Maybe it was just his reaction to meeting a hero in person for the first time. Whatever it was he chose not to care too much about it. Nate continued:
"Okay! Have a nice day!" The hero began to walk off but just at that second, there was a rumble through the surrounding area, as sand began to seep out from under the building surrounding the two boys. The sand began to rise and take the form of a hand, slapping Remy to the end of the alley on the border of the streets and, grabbed Nate holding him against a wall with immense pressure. Nate screamed out in pain, yelling at the top of his lungs "HELP!!!" Remy turned to the hero
-" Help him!" Remy says as his vision starts to blur in and out.
-" No, no I don't think I will" Alacrity looked away
-" Wait, WHY? Aren't you a hero?"
-" Sorry kid I'm off the clock, I'm not getting paid" The hero ran off with his super-speed in an instant. Remy's eyes were heavy and his body sank to the floor. His head was wet. He heard crunching as he hit the floor. As his vision faded out for the last time he heard the villain say:
-" Heh… see that kid… Heroes are the real scumbags… they don't care about you or pancake over here… just about money" The villain dissipated back into the sand leaving his friend's body.
