Chapter 1 - Kieran's PoV

When I was in high school, I imagined college as a place of fun where you meet new people, get away from family, take easy classes, and go to parties every weekend. I was WRONG. College is boooooooooring! I mean yeah, there ate plenty of parties and cute girls looking to "mingle" but easy classes? Don't make me laugh.

Take the class I'm in now for an example. Professor James's quantitative analysis class is the worst. His class went from every seat being full to a grand total of eight students in just the first half of a semester. I hate math already but FUCK. Professor James has such a monotonous voice that I honestly believe he even bores himself! Quite honestly, he and teachers like him are the reason students hate school. He drones on and on and whether he's telling a joke or explaining a problem, his face and voice never change.

Not that he tells many jokes. I thought before looking up at the professor. I've never even seen him smile, much less laugh. Does he even know how? I quickly realized he was talking and tuned back in.

"-how you'll catch up. What were they thinking, allowing you to start this late? They're simply insane." He sounds upset, well no. The words put together would sound upset but his tone sounded as if he were discussing the weather while sipping iced tea on his front porch with his next-door neighbor during a game of chess.

Who is he even- ohhhhhh. Professor James was talking to another guy who seemed around my age. I couldn't hear the guy's response but it seemed to mollify the professor. Okay. That's rather impressive. Sweet fuck, he's hot too. Does he have to be hot? No straight guy deserves to be that hot... I heaved a silent but weighty sigh.

Maybe not as silent as I thought.. The new kid seemed to hear me and turned, locking eyes with me. I blushed and quickly looked away, pretending to find my work much more interesting than it ever hoped to be. I could almost hear fate's taunting laugh as Professor James led the new student right to my desk. I gave in to the urge and quickly glanced around, counting as I looked. Fourteen other empty seats next to much better students and you bring him to sit next to ME?! This is why I hate you. You sir are the very BANE of my existence.

"Mr. Grey, this is our newest student Simon- what was your last name again?" Professor James turned.

"Osbourne, sir." That's not even fair. What god allows men to sound like that?

"Yes, Osbourne. Mr. Osbourne, this is Mr. Grey."

"Call me Kieran." I nodded a welcome to him and he nodded back. Professor James got to rambling again and I had to take the chance to check him out now that he was so close. He's definitely taller than me which is saying something because I am by no means short. Pretty tan, nice brown hair.

I'd love to run my fingers through his hair. Shut up! You do not need this! You JUST met. I shook myself out of my thoughts and went back to gazing. His eyes are a beautiful Egyptian blue with noticeable golden flecks. His nose is strong but not in a way that overwhelms his face, the same with his cheekbones. His lips were sharp but not as thin as you would normally see. I tried not to let my gaze linger too long there. His jawline accentuates his features almost perfectly. Yes, that's the word for him. Perfect. Not a fake perfect either. He seems to just be naturally attractive and aesthetically pleasing to look at.

Professor James's voice snapped me out of my observations. "Mr. Grey, you will have to help Mr. Osbourne catch up to where we are. It seems he will also be your dorm mate so you should have plenty to do so. Mr. Osbourne, I assure you I have complete faith in Mr. Grey's ability to assist you." He walked away and Simon sat down.

He had to sit awkwardly to fit his legs under the desk, the same way I did. He smoothly pulls out a notebook and turned to me. "So.." He began.

"Right, yeah, here's what we've been working on."
